This review is specifically for the deli. I have been using the deli as my main source of lunch for the past six month or so. In the past two to three months I have noticed a huge decline in the quality of food they put out. For example. Every single chicken item I purchased (chicken enchilada, chicken noodle soup, chicken wrap) has either a piece of cartilage, bone, a piece of fat or skin (jigglies). Were not talking small pieces either. Just today (which promoted my review) I bit into a quarter size shape of bone end cartridge. I almost threw up. I gave them the benefit of the doubt for a while but no kidding every single chicken item in the past several months. I purchase a chicken item about once a week but this is getting ridiculous! Im sorry to say that after my experience today, I am not purchasing anything from their deli anymore.

Love new seasons and the food there is always amazing no issue there. However with that being said the cashier I had yesterday was very short and dismissive towards me and I found this behavior to be unacceptable. Her name was Joy which was the last emotion I experienced whilst enduring her passive aggressive condescension. Let it be known Joy that I will continue to exclusively use your line and I expect to be treated far better next time or I will speak to your manager until you are polite and respectful just as I am to all of my clients. Its called being a professional and new seasons pays well enough for one to expect that much at the very least. And for the record I was very polite with miss Joy only to be met every time with the same disposition. Joy lifes beautiful try to enjoy it.

My husband and I were traveling through Oregon and stopped off at this grocery store to get some snacks for our road trip home back to southern California. While we were there we purchased an owl mug which my husband loves and drinks his coffee out of every morning. Recently the mug accidently broke and my husband was pretty upset so I called the same location and spoke with the service manager who was so kind and helpful. I asked if there were any mugs left (there were 3) and if she would mind shipping them to me. She said it was no problem and went out of her way to get them packaged safely and sent all the way to my home. She was such a sweet woman and I never felt as though my request was an inconvenience to her. I wish we had this store in my hometown.

I have often said that if I ever have to move away from Portland, this store is one thing I would miss. Its a tiny store, crowded, many things are priced beyond obtainability or understanding, and ordering something behind the counter can take an eternity. Even after all that, I never leave the place feeling displeased. The staff is beyond pleasant. The meats and produce (most of what I buy here) is unbeatable, short of the farmers market. The selection in every department is fantastic, especially considering the space available for stock. And most things are priced reasonably. Im not a hippie, but I am eco-aware, and this place makes it easier to make good choices. This place has truly spoiled me; I can no longer stand to go to Whole Foods.

New Seasons consistently has the best produce in town. This New Seasons in particular has a lot of amenities that make it truly accommodating: in house deli/cafe that makes to-order sandwiches, soups, hot woks, and a variety of other items. They also have a coffee shop, a bakery (New Seasons sourdough bread is pretty unbeatable on the sourdough front), a great beer and wine selection, a variety of chotchkies and cards if you need to buy a last minute gift that doesnt suck, a florist, a great selection of natural beauty products, and of course killer produce. They also have groceries. The one complaint, which you already know, is the price, but in fairness, there is a premium on quality and frankly nobody does quality groceries better.

this is actually one of the things i love about living in portland! new seasons is a great company who is investing in portland and its people. they are a great employer and thoughtful provider to the communities they serve. each store is a little different and caters to the neighborhood they are in. yes they are a bit more expensive than the box stores but i support their mission and they offer the variety from super amazing health food and produce to normal selection. they are not selling themselves as a health food store, just as someone who provides the all the options, not just processed unhealthy. friendliest grocery store in town ;)

I love that their Milk and Chicken are very competitively priced. I always get an Yerba Mate drink with stevia and cream to enjoy while I shop. The meat department has friendly and humorous people. Placing an order in meat or in vitamins is an easy and quick thing to do. The staff has always been very personable and friendly with me. One time I accidentally caught my cape on some wine bottles by the meat...breaking at least one of them. It was handled so caringly by the staff that I lost my embarrassment quickly, and felt comfortable though I was sorry for the accident. Some of my favorite checkers in the city work at New Seasons...

Even though it seems really busy, the lines go quick and the people that work there are great; super friendly. And I love new seasons selection of items, prices are honestly same as safeway, and its so much better for selection and quality of food and overall experience. I love to just look at the stuff in their gift and beauty areas.. and you can pick up an outdoor plant for a gift for an honestly reasonable price. If you need lunch, its the same price as fast food, honestly, and youll feel ten thousand times better rest of the day, and honestly? Their hot food choices taste better than a gross burger and fries.

New Seasons is our happy food source...I have been looking in vain for a month for Mrs. somebodys frozen Pierogis, the best Pierogis this side of the Ukraine. Please tell me they havent been discontinued...:-) When we have out of towners, our New Seasons is a destination goal. They dont understand why were dragging them to our grocery store until we get there. And so, with so much ready to eat food, thats how we spend time with them instead of cooking... Unless I can find a package of Mrs. ? Pierogis..then its a treat of butter-fried onions, lots, sour cream and the lost Pierogis....

Portland, love your market!! You are very lucky to have this amazing market in so many locations! This one is a great one too, as they all are! The organics are as affordable as non organic and who would want non organic anyway? I would LOVE to have a market like this where I live, so that is why I went whenever I needed anything, including cute socks, what? YES, socks! I loved also how they had large amounts of organic soaps and shampoos to be refilled here! They walk the walk, and I love that! It was fun also to sample items here, from coffee to fudge and even cheese! LOVED IT!!

Im very lucky to live walking distance from this location. I know that the prices reflect the quality of foods so its worth paying a little extra on some items. My favorite are the red seedless grapes. Everyone is always so helpful and on the ready to be at your service. The deli has a most DELISH black bean and cord salad and IF it is out in the case they are more than happy to check if there is any in the back, cheers to great service.
