I was looking for a different thrift store when I ran across Britton Community Thrift Store. Its set a little deep in the shopping center, so it was hard to tell if the place was open, but there was some furniture on the sidewalk, the door was unlocked, and the lights were on. They have sewing things (machine feet, fabric, patterns, and trim, but no needles, thread, bobbins, etc.), tons of business-y clothes, a decent selection of lightly-used furniture, and cheaper-than-Goodwill prices with a weekly color-tag deal for half-off. The selection and prices are what landed Britton Community Thrift Store a 3. Theres some sense of general organization once inside (clothes go here, accessories over there, etc.), but beyond that youll have to dig in the different sections to find anything. This was a little off-putting, hence the 1 in appeal. There wasnt a soul in sight when I walked in, and no one seemed to know I was there until I dropped something and made noise. After that, I got a "Hi, how are you?" from an employee that was on a cell phone, and then nothing until I checked out. I know most people would say that this is horrible service, but thats how I prefer to shop (minus the cell phone bit). Upon checking out, the service was great. Smiles, questions about finding things, and a brief conversation about a dress that I had purchased. Because of the cell phone and the lack of an employee when I walked in (which are things I dont like) I gave the service a 2. Overall, this was a great experience and I will definitely be going back as well as recommending it to my friends.

Its not huge but worth checking out. Some of their miscellaneous stuff was overpriced for thrift (like $1 for a pool noodle I can buy at Dollar Tree) but their adult sized pants are just $2.50 so I got a few pair cheaper than at most thrift stores. Good selection of fabrics and furniture as well. And it was very well organized, including clothing by type and size, as well.

Beware! If you buy something you cannot test like outdoor fixtures they wont allow returns. "All sales final" regardless. Why they sell something that they have not checked I dont understand but that was our experience. So much for "community" spirit! Lesson learned. Many other places to find treasures.

Great selection of all kinds of stuff to repurpose or craft with. Its a little crowded but definitely worth the hunt. Only complaint: too much outdated technology.

Going out business. And its really hard to navigate because of things being really haphazard. But they did have some good deals.
