I brought my 3 year old poodle here a while back and I was extremely disappointed! I walked in and let them know I had an appointment, they asked for his shot records, which I had my vet fax over the day before and Petco lost. So after bugging my vet again for the shot records I explained that my dog has bad separation anxiety, and also has a really hard time letting people clip his nails. He used to let me do this when he was a puppy, and I believe somewhere down the grooming road he was hurt or mistreated because he will not let me do it. I explained that I wanted his hair the same length all over. Now as I was explaining this to the lady at the desk there was a snotty girl who kept giving me dirty looks. I saw this a few different times. I finally left and waited around for a few hours, finally at 4:30 I called to see what was taking so long, because I dropped him off at 12:30! He was conveniently finished. When I get there, on first examination he looked great! The cut was fine, which is a good thing because I am picky about the way he gets cut. Remember the girl giving me the dirty looks? She was the one who brought my dog out to me. She then explains that he had a matte on the back of his leg and he was cut because it was so bad and the groomer got too close to his skin. So I go to look at the "cut" and notice it is a huge gash!!!! I was shocked, she didnt have a care in the world about this! I asked if they put ointment on it and she said yes, I dont believe for a second that she did though by the way she answered me. I get my dog home and he is so lethargic that it made me nervous. I immediately wonder if they gave my dog some kind of medicine to calm him down. The next day I was leaving for church and my dog cried and whined because he knew I was leaving, he was shaking so bad I cried. He did not want to go in his kennel. I picked him up and he gripped me like he never has before. Thankfully I have a great roommate who loves him, and she put him in bed with her so I could leave. I do not know the behind the scenes of dog grooming, but I have had my dog groomed numerous times and he has never been this shaken up before. Some groomers didnt clip his nails because he can be difficult which I understand and have never been upset about. I would rather they not do it if he will get stressed from it. I will take him to the vet and be there with him. I will never take my dog back, nor will I recommend this place to any family or friends!

I find it rediculous when my son went to purchase a training collar for his dog when a associate made him feel guilty about buying it for his dog. The associate told my son that it was cruel. I work close with my trainer for my dog and the collar is far from cruel if used properly! I think your associates should keep their opinions to themselves especially if they dont agree with something that DOES NOT PERTAIN TO THEM OR THEIR OWN ANIMAL. I suggest you have a meeting with your associates because not only did you lose out on a sale you lost a few loyal customers that will take their business elsewhere!

I walked in with my pit-bull mix an the manager along with his associates ran up to me telling me i need to leave the store. They said my type of dog is dangerous and he was afraid for his store an staff. Mind you my dog never made a peep and look at everyone wagging his tail. He is 4months old an all he wanted was a toy. I felt so bad for him. he would never hurt anyone. The sad part was we werent even given a chance to meet anyone so i could show them how good Jack is. I will never shop there again. There slogan should be changed to "Petco where the pets go except for pitts"

Tons of ants in the dog food, they were so rude. Brand new 50 lb bag, just opened that day, the accused me of trying to get free food. Like I dragged a 50 pound bag of food home, opened it, stole some, then went and found thousand of ants and put them in the bag and then the next day, dragged the bag all the way back to the store, with my receipt from the purchase the day before and the bag totally full........so I can steal a nibble maybe......a few more IQ points, they would bark, maybe!!!

Staff at the grooming center is friendly and fast. My dog is always nervous about trips but they did everything fast and he came home no worse from the experience.
