Totally disgusted with my experience today at the Lakeland , Fl. Pet Supermarket. My wife and I went in to buy a rat for our Ball python and treats for our dog as we have done every month for the last several years. We were asked by a young lady who was working there what we needed. I told her we needed a large rat. She returned to tell us they did not have a large rat all they had were medium rats. I told her we would take a medium rat. My wife and I then looked and picked out treats for our Dog. a few minutes later the girl comes up to us and says we have large rats and said she picked out the largest one of the two she had. i questioned her and opened up the container she had the rat in and.told her this did not look like a large rat. I have been buying rats for my Ball python for over 8 years and I do know the difference between a medium rat and a large rat. I told her we would take the rat anyway. When we got up to the counter to pay for our purchase i told the gentleman that was checking us out that the rat we were buying did not look like a large rat. He opened the container and said he did not think it looked like a large rat either. at that point I said so are you gonna charge me for a large rat or a medium rat. He said he has to charge me for a large rat. So since you guys now sell medium rats as large rats we will be spending our $40.00 to $50.00 a month at another pet store.

A decent location. It had the aragonite I needed for my african cichlids at a decent price, $33.99, make sure you rinse it before you fill the tank. I wish they would carry API african cichlid ph buffer, not just ph^. They do not like siamese nor chinese algae eaters, but hey my african cichlids like to eat algae anyway. Unfortunately, they do not eat as much algae as I would like them to consume. I couldnt find any T5s in 54w. Employees at this location have been helpful. It is a good thing they do not carry bats. Bats and guienea pigs could be a bad combination.

Cant say everything was wrong. A staff lady asked me if I everything was alright and did helped me choose the right food for my puppy. The wrong part is when I went to pay, they definitely need more practice in how to offer and ask if you want to donate but not to offer the VIP card. I told her it was my first visit. Wouldnt it be fair a nice welcome an offering to the VIP and a simple question. Did you find everything? I think yes. But I will give them a chance and visit soon. And will come back to give another feedback.

A little over priced in some areas, no warranty on fish unlike many other pet stores, but most of the staff are very friendly and always asking if they can help you. I buy most of my dogs food here because it gives me the best options, even though its priced too high. Its also the only store of its kind on the Southside of Lakeland, so I dont have a lot of choice.

Poor service. The line stacks up and finally after the cashier calls, 6 employees come from the back...A whole lot of playing and not a lot of working going on there. The unwillingness of the employees to help, in addition to their shiesty rewards program has made PS my absolute last choice for pet supplies.

Worst service. Im Standing in line to pay. The cashier was on his phone. The other employee told him theres someone in line. He then told that employee "I see him standing there". He continue looking at his phone. Spending my money somewhere else.

Yes, its true we have very little in Lakeland to choose from. However, if you care for animals, stop by this store and check out the conditions theyre keeping them in. If youre like me you find them appalling. The staff is clueless IMHO.

I purchased 20 starter goldfish, they are doing fine at the same time I purchased a sucker fish it died within 2 hours, I took it back got another one it died within 4 hours!!! Wasted my TIME AND MONEY!!! VERY UNHAPPY!!!

Best limited ingredient options in the dog food section. My Labrador Retrievers have the best coat due to such wonderful food from this store. The people are super nice and I love the rewards program.

Shouldnt have animals on display if not available to purchase.....regardless of regulations, keep them in the back until available for purchasing.
