Went to this store to purchase a front & ALMOND colored storm door in mid July. Found a beautiful Front Door on clearance & an ALMOND colored etched glass storm door w/BLACK hardware. Pd a $35 deposit & was told that this would hold our doors & that someone would come out to do measurements. A week or later young man came to our home & took measurements. He said that everything was good & that our lock would be fine. We went back to HD & paid for the doors & installation & then we waited. Finally when we did not hear anything we called the store. We were told that our door had been sold. We were given a different door that cost more but was not as nice looking as the originally at the same price. Finally installation day arrives. I had taken the day off work. A gentleman by the name of Tim came to our home to install the door. He said that there was way to many parts ordered & that he would take them back to the store & get us a refund on them. He then was telling me about our WHITE storm door w/GOLD hardware. I said no that isnt what we ordered. He then told me that our lock would not fit the front door. Called HD & talked the manager. She was going to get everything taken care of & get our storm door expedited. The person in charge of the expediting called & asked about the color. I told her we wanted ALMOND w/black hardware. I also mentioned to her about the door handle/lock not fitting when we had been told it would. They did give us a free handle & lock that we were allowed to pick out pick out. Which by the way was black. So finally installation day 2 is scheduled for today 9/9 almost 2 mos later. Tim comes to my home to install the doors. He checks the color & yea its ALMOND w/black hardware. Takes the doors out of his truck & is getting ready to install & finds out the storm door opens the wrong way!!! I refuse to have it installed & he again apologizes takes the doors back to the store. I again call the store & I am furious! I am told that they will again expedite our order & get the right door. I have worked in expediting & if we had been as slow as these people we would be out of business. My confidence in this store is none. So again we are still waiting to have the doors installed. So hopefully the 3rd time will be the charm. That will be 3 days that I have taken work, the price of the doors, & installation plus all the extra parts that werent needed. This is going to be very expensive door by the time (if ever) it gets installed.

Im not only writing this review for myself but also the lady who was disrespected right in front of me while I waited my turn to be helped. Ill start first by name in the individual we both had issues with. His name was Jim and he worked in the doors and window section. As Jim was walking towards his desk the lady said hi and introduced herself. she then began to ask a very simple product question about needing new screens for Windows. She was simply looking for the screening material. At this time Jim continue to walk to his desk and sit down. He continued to sit in his chair as the conversation proceeded further. He quickly interrupted her thinking he knew what she wanted and said they dont carry direct replacement screens. The lady acknowledge what he had said and they dont carry direct replacement screens. The lady acknowledge what he had said and clarified what she was actually seeking was just the screening material. At what point in time he proceeded to point to an aisle and said its down there. Again she acknowledged Andrews clarified that she needed help deciding which material was best for her application. Hes very rudely replied with well there is all sorts of kinds and begin to explain some of the differences and a very disrespectful tone like she was asking questions that were a severe imposition. Not once did he get up not once did he ask her if she wanted to go over and look he could help her make a decision he continued to sit in his chair and explain blindly the different choices. The lady was obviously thoroughly confused at what he was saying. That is when she said never mind and decided to leave the section. My experience with Jim was very similar. I was looking for a replacement track for a screen door and again he said the same thing you dont carry them because they are specific to brand. Then he suggested I may be able to fabricate my own which I considered to be an option. At what point in time he took me over to the raw materials of the metal and while were standing there in middle of a conversation his phone rang and he answered it. Its reasons like this that Im willing to drive a little farther and pay a little more to go to Lowes.

I have had the worst experience in flooring, not so much with the associates (who are generally friendly and helpful) but with the system for ordering/installation. I purchased Pergo flooring for a simple, rectangular room. Home Depot sent someone out to measure and to order the necessary supplies. I had to wait approximately 3 weeks for the flooring to come in, then another week for the installers to "be in my area". On the day of installation, I found they ordered too much flooring (cant be returned) and forgot to order trim pieces for the door transitions. Had to wait another 3 weeks for the additional pieces to come in, then they called to schedule installation without telling me I had to go pick up the pieces at the store. Another wait for them to be in my area again. On my next installation day, the installer called the night before to say he had been sick and was running behind but should be there between 2pm-3pm the next day. I asked him to make it 3:30, which he said would work fine and he would call if it would be any later. I never heard from him again, and no one ever showed up, or called to say there was a problem. So its been over 2 months and my floor is still only partially installed. No one seems to have any clue what is going on; they blame it on the installers. Do NOT schedule any installations thru the store!!

This Home Depot seems to be lost in space. I went to buy some lumber but could not find a cart inside, so I had to go outside and get one. The funny thing was it looked like every lumber cart and shopping cart was outside during the day. They had more associates working than they had customers. Everyone was helpful. The part that I had a problem was at the checkout I told the cashier that she should tell the manager to bring in some carts for the customers. She said that they dont bring in the carts anymore. i said I have never seen any other Home Depot do that. She said It was something from Corporate. I called another Home Depot and they said it was not true. Well if the employee was lying (not that would ever happen) then the whole Management staff was blind, because all the cart corrals were full and overflowing. Not what I would call good customer service to start with and yes I have nothing better to do but complain about something so petty.
