30 years ago every neighborhood had a small independent Donut Shop. Now each has a gas sation with Krispy Kreme donuts in a warmer. This small donut shops is one of the last and a real gem. The only place a round you can get that small town donut shop environment. They do make the donuts on site daily, they arent shipped in from a far off bakery. You can see into the back where the bakers are hard at work. I stopped in to pick up some donuts with a specific request from someone and they were out of them up front, but counter-person went to the back and spoke to the bakers and several minutes later I had a fresh custard donut with chocolate icing on top. Cant beat that service. I have to personally warn you to stay away from the jelly filled donuts with peanut butter icing. Highly addictive, so best not to try them:)

Small Donut shop but never had a bad experience. I as small as dont expect to sit down and enjoy coffee here. They do have a bar but that is it. Most of the space is used for the bakery, and I am fine with that. Bring cash, i did notice on the last visit that you can use credit cards but they have a fee. If anyone knows how credit cards really work you will not use them as they take a percent of the total. This robs money from Stan and then he will have to raise the price to off-set the credit card fees. So try and use cash when dealing with smaller stores, ok rant over now back to donuts. Very innovative with donuts, peanut butter donuts with Reese cup center , bacon donuts(a must try) and others. Bring these donuts into work and everyone will forget about bills.

I really want to like this place, but sadly it seems the staff does not want to be there... both females working the counter seemed very annoyed by helping customers, just as another reviewer had experienced. On several occasions Ive been very unimpressed with the customer service at Stans. Not to mention on my last visit shed given me the incorrect doughnuts (I couldnt see what she was putting in the bag, nor was she really paying attention - 1/2 dozen doughnuts crammed in a tiny bag LOL) So pleas Stan, please-please, talk to your staff and fix this! Based on my last few experiences Id rather deal with OK doughnuts & good customer service at Timmy Hos around the corner...rather than get crappy service for the chances Ill get some decent doughnuts.

Last time I went here the guy sneezed on the back of his hand, stuck his hand in the box that the little wax paper squares they use to hold the donut are in then put his same hand in the donut case to get my donuts. I wanted 3 of them, one for my two boys and one for me, and the guys two fingers touched two of my donuts because he grabbed all three together. He didnt use hand sanitizer or anything after sneezing on his hand before touching our donuts. So gross!!! Donut palace is nowhere near me as I live near Kettering, however; I will drive the distance for better service.

My excitement of visting the "Best donuts in dayton" was quickly dashed by the unhelpful staff member whos only answer to "what kind of donuts do you have" was "We have hundreds" followed by no further information. As I stared at the case of unmarked donuts and the staff member waiting for my reply I made the quick decision of "um.. I guess Ill take the glazed looking one". Donut was great, Service was bad, I never got to experience what could of been the best donut in dayton. Instead I got nothing more than Glazed.

Freshly made from scratch every day. Wonderful smell as you open the door and greeted with smiles. Theyve always been humble and friendly during the 3 years Ive been going there and the donuts are to die for! right now they have a "cro-donut" that combines croissant, custard, raspberry jelly and glaze. *drool* Try the pineapple fritters too; about to go get one right now! :D

Not bad, but not great. The doughnuts are exceptionally sweet (too much so for this reviewers familys tastes), but not so the waiting staff--the woman assisting me and my family this afternoon seem annoyed not only with our questions, but our presence as well. The owner should be more aware there are better doughnut joints within a five-minute drive of this establishment.

Stan the Donut Man is an awesome guy! The donuts are amazing and the variety is high. I went in late one night and had a very pleasant experience with the young girl at the register while the family smiled from the back making the donuts. The donuts are delicious and we will be returning soon. Thanks, Stan!

Yummy and fun donuts. They have this Reece peanut butter cup donut thats really yummy. They also have a maple bacon one, and the traditional twisted and glazed and sprinkled ones! They have a small bar which is usually crowded with regulars drinking coffee and Chatting with the workers.

Staff: great - nice & patient while I figured out what I wanted from the large selection. So friendly. Not just your hurry up give me your money and leave kinda people. Fresh Donuts: worth driving across town for and not sharing. (Wink, wink) very filling and priced reasonably.

By far one of the hidden treasures Dayton has to offer if you are a fan of doughnuts. Get there early. Great prices for amazing fresh doughnuts. Locally owned and, operated this place is a testament to the little guy. Or, the man in this case. You will not be disappointed.

Have lived in a nearby neighborhood for the last 15 years, havent had a bad donut yet. Friendly small-town bakeshop atmosphere and absolutely delicious donuts. Theyre also much closer to me and cost much less than the more well known Bills down in Centerville.

Donuts were not fresh and there was skim pickings.the younger man at the counter was on the rude side. I was told by numerous people it was a great place to get fresh donuts ANY time of day. I get better selection and freshness at Krogers

Great donuts and coffee! Ive loved this place since I was a little kid and it still delivers the same great donuts to this day! Much smaller and less selection than Bills Donuts but honestly just as good with half the wait or price.

After hearing for years how great the donuts here are, I finally decided to try some out. I bought a dozen glazed rounds the price was to good to be true, but the donuts were soooo good. Light fluffy and yummy.. I will be back

Went there on Sunday morning. Was telling the women behind the counter which donuts I wanted and was not watching her. Went home and did not receive the correct donuts or amount. She was also rude. Very unhappy.

Best donuts in Kettering or Dayton, hands down. Staff is always very nice. Other than early morning, the best time to go is after about 8:00 or 8:30 in the evening (super fresh donuts for the next morning.)
