Whenever I go to a new place, I always google which book stores are around, because although I love to read, I enjoy browsing bookstores nearly as much. Of course Ive been to The Book Loft in the German Village, and do recommend it if you find yourself in Columbus and like bookstores. But Ive found The Book Loft a bit lacking. Its a little gimmick-y and always crowded. Not so with Village Bookshop. Its a large space, but I think at first glance you might think that there arent as many books as you would like. When you get a bit deeper though, you realize it keeps going and there is an upstairs too. They have books arranged by section and there is a wide variety from art books, to travel, to used, to classics, fiction, sports related, etc. I read mostly modern classics and I was impressed with their selection. The atmosphere was quiet. The lady at the register extremely kind, after I approached her for help. Definitely the type to let me browse in peace. If you like a more secluded bookstore with many books to look through, this place is for you.

Ive been here three times within the past week because I could not get enough of this charming place. I dont think Ill go to half-price books again now that Ive discovered this independently-owned gem. Its bigger on the inside (Doctor Who anyone?) and its just bursting with books of all kinds. There are new books (Ive bought several for Christmas presents already), plenty of used books, and a special room for the rare and old books (I found the four volumes of Les Miserables in ancient little hardback copies). The service is awesome; the lovely lady up front always asks me what Im looking for and helps me dig it out, and last time we had a delightful conversation about the way our perceptions of books evolve as we grow older. The Village Bookshop is filled with character, and I plan on coming here very often. A few other notes: the books are ridiculously cheap, cheaper than half-price books and there are a bunch of comfy armchairs to sit in and delve into a novel. I highly recommend coming here the next time you want to find a good book.

Lots of books to choose from. The first floor you will find new books at pretty decent prices. Lots of Art and History at the front of the house. The second floor houses the used section. I was a little disappointed in the selection of Sci-Fi, but Im a little snobbish when it comes to that. The ambience of the place really makes it stand out. Its a converted church, and it has that solemn quietness that allows you to feel like it isnt exactly a retail environment. Creaky flooring and high ceilings really makes it stand out. Compared to other bookstores, it doesnt feel as cramped.

The second best used book shop in North America... which is not an insult, because the best one in Halifax, Nova Scotia is simply insane. Amazing collection of eclectic books on all subjects... reflective of Columbus as a college town with a lot of books floating around on anything you could imagine. Whenever I am in the area, I go, usually emerging with boxes of books! A fixture in the Columbus area, this store is everything a used book store should be.

I been here when I used to live in W Worthington OH in the sub div of Brookside West up the road where I used to live! This place OUT match ANY Boarders and Barns & Nople or others book store in town and supper cheap to buy new or used books or exchange books and such. They may not have a full cafe like others store fronts but they do have coffee and tea for free! The parking is good but a NIGHMERE getting back on 161 in both sides in rush hour!

The Village Bookstore is a must-visit for book lovers. The seating in the attic area is perfect for some quiet reading. The Village Bookstore has a wonderful selection of unique old books as well as some more current ones. The prices are average. The Acorn Bookstore is a little more reasonably priced if youre in the Grandview / 5th Ave area.

The good night book My daughter is now 34 and I read this book to her and my older daughter when they were kids. They loved the book and my older daughter still has the original. I found this copy after she expressed that she wishes she had it. The book is in excellent condition and she was in tears when she opened it. Thank you so much!

A new favorite stop for my wife and I when in the Dublin area. Great new books at fair overstock prices. A decent used selection as well. The property is vast and there are comfortable places to sit and read. I read an entire book while my wife looked around for 4 hours. Great selection as well. We will definitely be back.

Had a really poor experience with a condescending staff member recently. He was quite rude for no apparent reason which was baffling to me. Its a shame because it was my first time visiting and now Im sorry to say it will be my last, and I wont be recommending this place to others now. Bad experience all around, sadly.

Just went there for the first time yesterday. Its way bigger than it looks from the outside, and is crammed with all sorts of books. I was a little disappointed that I could not locate a single Vladimir Nabokov novel, but overall the selection is great, and the prices are really affordable. Thumbs up from me!

Cute bookstore located at the very end of the promenade. They specialize in books focusing on architecture, art, fashion, etc. They also have books on travel, advertising, and snarky/funny greeting cards. Cool place, will definitely be returning when I have a little bit more time to browse around.

Looks can be deceiving. Looks like a church on the outside but its a fantastic bookstore inside. Lots of variety. The building just keeps going further and further back. Out seems endless. Dont forget to check out upstairs too. You have to go to the back of the store to get to the stairs... Clever

We had a very positive experience working with Village Bookshop. Carol was very attentive to helping our business and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. If you are looking for a great bookshop in the Columbus area to explore, I would highly recommend that you check out Village Bookshop!

I like this shop because it isnt loud and there is always something new to find. Only criticism are the outdated computer books on the 2nd floor. I gave a rating of 3 stars instead of 5 because of the new addition of a confederate flag hanging by the register.

Ive been coming here for so many years. Its a great hidden gem. As an old church it has a lot of squeaks, but the vast amount of books is overwhelming. There are places to sit and read as well. Definitely a place to check out of you havent.

Always a fun adventure here. If nothing, you should stop by just to check out the building! Lots of book choices, some a bit old, but lots of treasures to be found.
