Had a good experience here today. Want corporate HQ or Sharon Anderson Wright to know that I had a good conversation with an employee named Jason that did a great job at pitching various products to me even though I had to run so essentially I couldnt buy anything. Just wanted the head honcho to know that it was a job well done. Anyway, Half Price Books is a great little store. My favorite section has to be the metaphysical section. The employees are always friendly, and most importantly the store has WiFi. I currently have your location at four stars, but change my reviews accordingly based on my experiences when Im in the area. Youll be seeing more of me. And Ill be happy to give more positive reviews to all of you based on my experiences. Even write reviews with your personal name in it for the 5803 E. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX 7523 location if Im really blown away.

It is absolutely true that Half-Price will gouge you on your trade-in. It would be much easier to sell your books on eBay or Amazon, which offers more money for trade-ins. Personally my family donates all our older books to Goodwill because well get more money from our tax break than we will by selling them to Half-Price. However, it is also absolutely true that you will not find a better selection of books than at Half-Price. If you dont mind your book being more than a couple years old or to have a little "character" on its spine, then this is the perfect place to discover new authors or get that automotive manual for your 1999 Malibu. And if you dont find what youre looking for, come in the next day, because the titles are always changing as books are added. The employees... meh. Hipsters. What can you do?

BEWARE: You better be prepared for the ultimate price gouge when you bring anything to sell to the Half-Price Chain. Based on my experience, that means any Half-Price store in the local area, as they all operate in similar fashion. And while they offer minimal money to you for what you are selling/what they are willing to buy from you, they have absolutely no problem dramatically repricing your items upward when it is placed on their shelves for sale. There is no doubt that their business model is based on Buy-Low/Lower/Lowest and Sell as High as you can. So much so, it is insulting to a return customer to see this happening on such a reoccuring basis.

Wanted to buy a book, but forgot my cell phone. I asked to use the phone for a quick local call home to make sure I didnt own the book already ( it was a long series and I wasnt sure). The clerk acted all " oh, gee, I dont know…. Ill have to call a manager…" which surprised me enough. It was pretty rude. Then the manager comes over, and I expect her to give me the ok, and instead SHE is rude and says NO. Are you kidding me?!! I wanted to call for two seconds so I could buy one of their products! I work retail and if we did that to a customer at our store, wed get fired! Atrocious customer service.

My husband and I have been going to half price books for at least 15 years and spend a lot of money on the books and videos they sell. Today the half price book store in Westerville, Ohio kicked us out because our three year old was upset. They are NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY!!!!!! I will no longer buy any merchandise from this half price book store. I left the store with my children and left the $50 worth of books I was going to buy in the cart.

This Half Price Bookstore may not be the biggest in the Central Ohio area, but the location is ideal for many in the North part of town. The selection is very good. The only complaint I have is a relatively small clearance section. Other than than this is your typical Half Price Books, the only place I buy books!

I came here to sell two boxes of books and DVDs and walked out with $50 which is worth it for the convenience. While they were processing everything I took a look around and they had something for just about anyone. Its worth stopping in if you want to add something to your collection on the cheap.

Rating this location 5 stars to offset the idiots who have never been to a half price books before. Its a business, not a charity. If you want top dollar for your media- newsflash, sell it yourself. That being said, this location has my favorite assortments of games and graphic novels.

Had a horrible experience selling books to them. I had 2 baskets full of hard back kids books, cook books, text books. All in great shape. They gave me 30.00 dollars, said they where not buying all of thembut didnt bother to sort out the ones they didnt want and kept all of them.

I have found some great literary pieces, in specialty press, and in their nostalgia section, for great prices. I have stepped up my library a lot with their selections. The customer service is nice, and it is a nice, quite place to read and find what youre looking for.

I absolutely adore this place! The atmosphere is peaceful and on my last visit there were record players that put their collection of vinyl to work. My only issue is that they might offer bad prices on books you are trying to sell.

They throw away historically significant books and merchandise just so they can charge a exuberant amount for the items they keep, this chain should be shut down, and its owners and managers deserve prosecution.

Every time Ive been there, everyone is friendly. I have read some of the lower reviews, and Im laughing because the issues are the customers not wanting to take responsibility for their own issue.

Offered me $2.00 for over 80 books. Yes, TWO dollars. Yes, for ALL the books. I told them, "Uh, no? But thanks for the insult. Ill sell them on Amazon myself."

The staff are always friendly & helpful. I can (and do) spend hours here. I plan to get one thing and come out with 10 others, much to my husbands chagrin.

Great prices but they are really cheep for the books you sell to them. I got 2.50 on 10 books, hard bound, with prices they charge about 6 to 9 dollars.

Does about as great a job as a chain of used book stores can. Dont get me wrong, I love HPB, but they dont always get the deepest selections.

I sold many items here, shopped and bought large amounts of books and video games. I tend to visit it every month and shop.

We go here to sell our books. Dont expect a big payday, but at least they find a place to donate them if they dont sell.

The construction nightmare on the roads is lessening. The store was well lit and had a reasonable selection to peruse.
