Whether youre buying or selling youll have a great experience here. Very nice, friendly, and knowledgeable staff! They have a huge selection (youll probably be surprised, like I was, at how many books they have) wide hours so you can browse as long as you like! For selling books to this store, of which I have more experience, its a very simple process. No matter what amount of books you bring in they will be finished going through them and have an offer for you in under 15 minutes every time. Also, all of the books they dont purchase will end up being donated which I think is petty cool. Ive brought in 20 books all the way up to just under 1000 at once and its crazy how fast and consistent they are! Just please dont expect a ton of money or get mad/upset when you think they gave you a low offer. You have to remember that you are selling dusty old unwanted books that you had lying around your house to a discount bookstore with employees, overhead, and needs to make a profit. Be grateful that you are getting SOME amount of money as it would be very difficult to get cash money for your old books any other way. Thank you!

Ok, so I see a lot of people complaining they dont get a lot of money for their books... let me ask... what would you do with them instead? I look at it purely from a recycling perspective. I dont buy all that many books anymore because I have a kindle. I dont like wasting paper. But some things, like kids books, magazines, cook books, hobby books, really work better in a paper format. When Im done with them, I dont like them cluttering up my house. So, I bring them to half price books. So what if they only give me 0.50$? Its better than throwing it out. I get some amazing deals there especially on kids books. Its totally worth it to me to get old books OUT and get decent books for my kids at a reasonable price because kids books in general are WAY over priced. Love this place, wouldnt change a thing. If you are looking to make fat money off your USED BOOKs try selling them on ebay and see how well you do!

Some lose site of simple math: You can buy a book at half the price of Retail. Now, they cant give you MORE then that for your book because how will they sell it at...Half Price. Theyre not called Overpriced Books. It amazes me the reviews that grumble they dont get a lot for their books. Its not how this works. I sell old books to them to recycle / let someone else enjoy them. If I sell 5 books and get enough to buy a bagle and coffee for my morning commute then score. The system works if you look at it as recycling and passing the books along for others to enjoy and not "Gee I didnt get a lot for my books." Really? What were you expecting?

I love shopping at all of the HPBs. But I will advice you, dont offer your books/items to them, they give you very little for your books/items. But the do have great deals on buying. If youre a teacher or work at a library, you can get a discount card (you can save 10% off all your items). I work at a library, so when I shop there, not only do I get this cheap but I get an additional 10% off. This location is also great because I think this is one of the bigger stores, which carries a bit more than some of the smaller ones.

Fun store to browse but If you bring books in to sell they look up on line and if they find a price range of $2. up to $50. they will say they found one for $2. and offer you .25 cents then turn around and price it for sale at $50. Not taking into consideration the quality you brought in compared to the tattered ex library copy for $2. that has been high lighted or written in with missing pages with a broken spine. The only one worse is the one on Lane Ave.

Half Price Books has a vast selection of books in great shape at fair prices. I have also sold many books to them for a fair price. I feel it is less of a hassle and you get better prices than selling through Amazon. It is convenient for me. The store is always filled with book lovers and the staff are knowledgeable and love discussing books.

Decent bookstore, a lot of variety and knowledgeable staff. For some reason whenever Ive tried to sell books here the wait is extremely long, bordering around 45 minutes sometimes. It gives me time to shop but in those cases it has been packed and moving freely around was a challenge.

I am really partial to this particular Half Price books. I sell items here about 2 times per month and the staff are friendly and I feel i get a good price. When i have visited other HPBs in the area, they just dont live up to what i have come to expect from this location. Love it!

Great prices, selection and location. Friendly staff! Ive never had any luck with selling items here and getting anything for more than a few cents. My kids always walk out with a new book (or two!) and an even better love of reading.

Recently sold them DVDs and got a better deal than online or anywhere in town. Nice staff and lots of great prices on gently used collectables, music, movies, games (lots of PS2 and PC, plus others), books and comics.

I usually prefer the Half Priced Books on Lane Ave, but when we are early for a movie or whatever, it is nice to stop in and look through their selection of books. This is a great place for any book lover.

A nice place to find a wide selection of books, movies, TV show, games, and music on the cheap. A lot of good deals as long as you dont mind buying used. Has a decent selection of vinyl records as well.

NEVER sell to them. You will get get .01% of the value of what its worth. I bought a movie from them for $15 the following week sold it back to them and they gave me $1.25 rip off!

Good selection, a little bit confused on the two YA sections but they were too busy for me to ask why. Im guessing one was middle grade and the other new adult.

Can be a mixed bag but I generally like it very much. Like an overstuffed couch, books are everywhere and they are good ones, not junk.

They have huge collections of books in this place. The price is decent. You can sell books but the price they give is like peanuts.
