To plan my Christmas shopping, I looked online at each store I wanted to visit for budgeting purposes and sale notifications. When I visited Barnes and Noble, I found that all of the prices were significantly higher than they were listed online. A book trilogy was online for 30.00, but in store as 62!! The associate told me that they dont price match their own website because the stores have overhead costs that the website doesnt. She also told me if I ordered online, and picked up in store, I might be charged the store prove if it came from their inventory, and Id have to pay the difference! This ended up being the case for all but one of the items we wanted to purchase. It was triple what was budgeted. I ended up not purchasing anything, and looking somewhere else. Turns out, target had the same book trilogy for 28.00. Guess they dont have overhead. I was an avid B&N customer until I realized that they totally screw you in price if you shop in store! I wont be back.

I usually like Barnes and Noble simply because bookstores are so rare in Michigan. But my experience at the Allen Park store today, will have me purchasing ALL my books online from other companies moving forward. The information desk clerk, Sam, the person who is supposed to help people, a little piece of advice. If you want to make a rude comment about a CUSTOMER, at least make sure they are out of earshot. Yes, I heard what you said to Alex about me. Sorry for asking a clarifying question. Or hey, how about not making rude comments at all. You dont know a persons life.

Barnes & Noble is heaven on Earth. Theres a down to earth blonde lady cashier who is always working when I come here. She has a bohemian/eclectic style with longer blonde hair. Her customer service is outstanding and work ethic is quality. The last time I was there, the check out had a *very* long line and she was the only one at the register... needless to say she handled it like a BOSS and I loved speaking with her (as Im 100% sure all of the customers did).

I love books and as a big chain this place is pretty reliable. Obviously as a bookstore the experience is righteous. I do wish theyd stop making the manga section smaller, and their vinyl selection is a strange mix between a good but uncreative selection (I would really love more classical choices in store, but I believe the Barnes and Noble website covers that better).

Gotta love B&N. I spend way too much time in here when I go, and I usually end up buying a few new books even though I have a stack at home that I still havent touched. Selection is good and the staff is knowledgeable and happy to help. The movie & entertainment section seems a bit more expensive than you might expect, but the books and magazines make up for it.

Great staff and service. There are tons of books there, including for both kids and adults. There were also toys and DVDs and especially love the cafe. Perfect place to study, read, or just relax. The space is big. Even though the books there are quite pricey, but no be deal!!!

They sell many books and small favors. A little pricey, but the store is versatile and nicely kept. They have a Starbucks inside and complimentary WiFi. That along with some tables and comfy chairs make it a nice place to grab a tea and read or study.

Pretty nice place with a cozy and quiet layout. They sell a good assortment of stationary and little trinkets... oh and books too. There is a Starbucks inside too (but they dont accept Starbucks cards, so you will have to pay in other forms).
