Went with a group of 6 for a company lunch. VERY odd process of ordering - had to order and pay for food at a register, and the receipt asked for the tip amount up front? I hadnt even been served yet I am being asked to tip someone? You order your drink there, too - so you feel REALLY rushed to make a selection because there is a line of people waiting for you to order and move along. So we rush to order the food and drinks, get a number to place on our table, and sit down. 45 minutes later two of the six of us get our food and the waiter starts to take our number away - we tell him we are waiting on 4 other orders. He disappears and we never hear another word from him (we assumed he went in to check on the other four meals, but no!) The waiter never comes back to offer refills, or tell us our food is on the way. After another 10 minutes one from our group goes up and talks to a manager - seems their order computer deleted four items (luckily I had the receipt to show him we paid $120 for two meals). Maybe the waiter could have checked for us 10 minutes ago? Eventually we got our food, and they did offer us a milkshake for waiting, but all-in-all the process in this restaurant needs to go back to the basics of sit down, order and serve. Would never go there again.

I love Mustard Seed and every visit here has been a pleasant one, except for our last one. If I could rate zero stars, I would. If this was our first time here, we would never return. The service was absolutely terrible. I understand it was busy, but maybe have more staff on hand to handle the capacity. We sat at a dirty table for about 20+ minutes before finally moving the dishes ourselves to a chair at our table. When someone came by to clean them (after asking), the woman seemed annoyed we had moved them off of the table. When asked to have the table wiped down, it was done so extremely poorly with a dry cloth. (?!?!) Our food took well over 30 minutes to arrive, and when it finally did, it was the wrong order. We waited longer, to finally receive our food with no silverware. By the time we received silverware, my food was basically cold. My husbands chicken sandwich was 90% all breading, with little to no chicken. At that point in time, why complain and wait longer for them to fix the problem. Extremely disappointed and sadly probably wont be returning for quite some time, if ever.

I left Akron to go the culinary school in Columbus before mustard seed opened. So when I came back to Akron for the weekend I was excited to go here. Sadly me experience wasnt even close. It took us an hour to get our food and the place wasnt even busy. I work as a chef apprentice, so I had to laugh when I heard one of the servers say they stopped taking orders, because they were back up on orders. That should never happen. To make it worse nobody from management came out to explain. When we did get our food my dad didnt get all of his food. All the food should go out together. If I tried to push out a incomplete order and my chef found out he would say bring the food back, then I would get yelled at. Lastly my chicken was dry. I could tell they didnt season it, and my rice was over cooked. Give me a break Im in my 2 semester in school and it seams to me that I know more then the management. I have to say next time I come back to town I wont go to mustard seed cafe.

My friends and I love coming here! The food is good and there are so many options for vegetarians and vegans. Its hard to find this many in other places. The prices can be a bit high, especially if youre on a student budget, however, usually the food is well made and I understand why its more expensive (organic, local, etc). The service is generally great, but at times it can be hit or miss depending on the time of day or day itself. A few times time I ordered something, they ended up not having it but didnt tell me, and they just brought out something else without asking what I wanted to have in exchange. Luckily I wasnt opposed to it, but I have some food allergies and it could have been bad. Ive had other annoying service encounters or food not being what I ordered, but it was quickly corrected. Overall, love it mostly because of the cozy atmosphere, plenty of places to sit with friends, and good food.

My partner and I came here to grab a quick drink and some dinner before seeing a movie at the Highland Theater one mid-week evening. We sat at the bar hoping to be served quickly. We waited 10 minutes without even a greeting. We watched the bar tenders walk right by us multiple times. Frustrated and hungry, we decided to get up and head to the movie. As we were standing up one of the bartenders finally approached us and asked for our orders. Really? This was a week night and they werent busy at all. Im scared to even see how they are on a Friday evening if they couldnt get it together for a weekday.

Overall, a moderately priced organic foods store. You can tell they charge a bit of a premium for being one of the only organuc food stores in the area and because their following and locations are from a more affluent demographic. Very clean and they have free live music almost weekly in their cafe. They need a greater selection of 6 packs of craft beer under $9/$10. And their hot/cold prepared deli needs to take a huge price cut. You almost have to sacrifice your first born in order to afford a lunch/dinner meal with satiating portions.

The Market has a great selection of food but the cafe is where its at especially when they have their buffets. We went this past Mothers Day and they had soooo much food it was crazy. Its pricey but its so worth it because theres so much food to choose from and youre pretty much full for the rest of the day after eating at the buffet so it basically takes care of lunch and dinner. Everything was so delicious and its great how all of the food that they serve is natural! Well definitely be back this Mothers Day.

Good selection, but due to size options are a bit limited. Pricey, but comparable or better than whole foods. Enough staples (bread, meat, produce) to keep me happy. Staff is always helpful and polite, five stars there. Upstairs cafe? Again, good selection, if a bit pricey (dropped $50 on lunch for myself and daughter), but fun to sit on the outside patio and watch the Square roll by. In all honesty, organic and healthy food does come at a premium, but Im glad theyre in Highland Square.

So nice. Have been staying in Akron area for work this past week, and have visited mustard seed for lunch 2 days in a row, followed by dinner the same day. Both locations; Montrose and highland square. Both are magnificent. Different, yet similar menus. Different atmosphere, equally inviting, cozy and warm. Food is incredible and I love that almost everything is easily made vegetarian/vegan. Lots of local, lots of organic, and lots of delicious :) would highly recommend
