Went to adopt a kitten from them yesterday. The kitten had to b about 2 month old. I asked to hold him. She picked him up by the back of the neck basically the way a mama cat would of done and handed it to me. I apparently i wasnt qualified to hold the kitten though. I was holding it with its two front paws between my pinkie finger and the other my thumb so it rested its head on my 3 front fingers leaving the rest of its body supported by my hand and forearm. I even had it close to my chest for extra support. After about 2 minutes maybe wouldnt of been able to hold that long she took him from me. I said that I would like to purchase that kitten and she responded NO and when I asked what the problem was she said she didnt like how I was holding the kittens with one hand! Even some baby doctors tell u when your baby is fussy to hold them basically just as I had. Her and I did have some choice words but this lady is unbelievable! I dont feel comfortable lifting them by the back of the neck. This woman has serious issues.

Saw a guinea pig that was in its own separate place, it wasnt even a cage, it was a 2 gallon fish tank. He was cut off from others companion and had to stay in a tiny place until adopted. There was no room for him and his whole space was taken up by one igloo for which he could only sit in it and come out a little bit to eat from him bowl, thats all the moving he could do. On top of that he was 50% off all because of a health issue that caused his head to stay at a tilt. Absolutely disgusting and made me even cry. Never going to petco, have seen this done another time where they put one animal who was treated bad at its original home. This is what they do with their animals who have been brought back or have something different about them that has nothing to do with the animal itself. DISGUSTING!

I went there the other night in search of a dog kennel, as my husband and I were looking around for one we saw online, this girl who had longer brown curly hair walked by us numerous times and completely ignored us twice after we asked if they had any other kennels, finally she snapped at us that, that was all they had. We immediately left. The next day I saw a post about a fish that was trapped under a rock and when asked about someone helping it the same girl who was nasty to my husband and I the night before, literally said "oh were just going to let him die" and in the video you can see the fish is actually in good health and has a good enough fight in him. Nice to know you guys care about your animals and customers so much.

Got 2 pim pictus catfish that died in 2 days, kept in 2 different tanks... all my fish WERE healthy and happy till I got these fish!! Now thanks to this store I am fighting a fin rot, bacterial infection and loosing my fish!! I have lost all my bala sharks and now my anglefish are dying off!!! I have raised fish for decades, I have shown fish and won awards for my fish... I am by no means a beginner hobbyist...I should have known better than to trust this place for quality healthy fish... being new to the area and being told "its not what you think of a Pet store" I thought I would give them a try. NEVER AGAIN!! Other than supplies, never buy livestock...stick to the mom and pop shops if you can find them.

They are awful there. I was about to hand my beloved dog over to a lady but my dog must have sense something wrong so she growl at the lady. My dog growl at her and hid behind my leg with her tail inbetween her leg. (Keep in my my dog never ever has growl to a stranger. She is so loveable that if she a person she pull on her leash and drag me to go meet the new people. She loves meeting people.) When she did that I didnt give them my dog. I trust my dog instinct since dogs can sense stuff that can be wrong unlike humans. So what Im trying to say if my dog didnt trust them and they have a better SENSE and can DETECT if something WRONG than Humans then I DIDNT TRUST THEN

Friendly, helpful, surprisingly knowledgeable staff. One of the staff members currently working in the fish department is incredibly knowledgeable about fish-keeping. In the past, I have also been impressed with the help from a staff member in the dog food section (he knew about some interesting manufacturer trends) and the help I received special ordering a small animal playpen. Great selection of products at good prices. One of my top go-to pet stores in Wilmington, NC.

I love taking taking my dog here. Every employee we have encountered here is knowledgable and not too pushy. When I was trying to pick out a new food to transition my dog to, an employee spent 20 minutes helping me narrow down my choices (I already had a few in mind) and even carried the bag to the checkout counter for me. I have also been getting $5 off of $25 coupons on my receipts from here which is great when you are paying $50-$60 for a 25 lb bag of food.

Only giving 5 stars so it will show on the top. These guys are awful. The grooming service is awful and my poor dog looks like it was unprofessional. They were rushing and didnt take the time to do it correctly. The costumer service was crappy as well. They walk by you like they ignore you over and over even after you as for help. -5 out of 5.

The staff here is always very friendly and pretty knowledgable. The animals seem to be well taken care of and the weekend adoptions are always nice! Grooming services are also available, but I have no experience with that aspect of the store.

If there was a ZERO stars i would give this PETCO ZERO! besides over charging my dog for getting washed, she now has a severe ear infection due to the fact that she was never dried properly and they left her ears wet! Absolutely terrible.

I shop for my 4 dogs at Petco and use the grooming salon. I like that they do a 7 Point check in and always take care of my babies. The staff is always very helpful in answering any questions I may have.

I come here often for my cats food. They have a great selection of decent cat brands and run sales fairly often. The staff are really nice and go out lof their way to make sure you find what you need.

Bought some fish here and they died within 2 days and now Im dealing with sickness in my 3 tanks and having other fish die. DO NOT BUY FISH HERE!
