I would LOVE to comment on my experience, or lack thereof. I am less than 3 months out from my wedding. I made my floral deposit 3 months ago for bouquets and boutonnieres for my wedding. I was told that I would hear about when I would be able to see some sample work. When I touched base a month or so later about maybe setting a date to see a sample, I was told they dont do samples. I had e-mailed a few reference photos because my bridesmaids switched their dresses, and I was told that they would design flowers similar to the references I sent, but the pictures were all different from each other. I was worried about being surprised on my wedding day, since every bride has their own vision of how things will look, and so I asked since they didnt do sample.. could they do a mock up? I dont think that was unreasonable, as I know it isnt uncommon for florists to either do a sample bouquet, or a drawing, etc. I finally got a response, now 3 months before my wedding date, that they are sending me back my deposit and have decided to drop our wedding with the excuse that it was in the interest of both parties and that my vision and their work may be vastly different. Based on what I ask? Who knows. I merely e-mailed about sample viewing dates based on what I was told, told something else, and most likely dropped because I dared to e-mail back and ask why they didnt do samples and if I could just see a mock up then. I hope you arent even remotely picky, because you dont want to use them. I guess I should have just pointed to a picture in their catalog and been happy with having my flowers look like everyone elses. Sadly they came highly recommended, maybe things have changed.

My wife and I contracted Doug at Purple Poppy to provide flowers for our sons rehearsal luncheon and a wine and cheese party later that night. To say that the flowers were a hit with all of our guests and family doesnt nearly express their reaction. From the bride and groom to everyone else who saw them, the reaction to what the Purple Poppy did with the flowers was captured in words like: breathtaking, gorgeous, amazing, lovely - and the list goes on. This was a wedding weekend with many points of excellence and sheer beauty. The 12 unbelievable Purple Poppy arrangements (each one perfect in its design, balance, creativity and alignment with the setting and tone of the function) were among the high points of that weekend. Because I have used this florist for anniversary, Valentines and birthday gift arrangements in the past, I already had sky-high expectations, but Doug exceeded even those! Deciding to go with Purple Poppy for our flowers was among the wisest of decisions we made in planning this wedding. We give them our strongest recommendation!

I cannot say enough good things about The Purple Poppy. The first time I met their team, I walked in off the street without an appointment, and they sat down for almost two hours discussing every little detail about my wedding in an attempt to make everything perfect. I knew then that I had made the right decision in coming to them to do the flowers for my October wedding in Downtown Raleigh. I inundated them with calls and questions over the next year, making changes and additions to my order several times, and they were always so accommodating and kind. I literally had no idea through all of this just how BEAUTIFUL my flowers would be. When they arrived at the hotel room to drop off our bouquets, I was brought to tears. They were seriously so stunning and unique. Stop your search, because this is the ONLY company in the area I would trust to do flowers. They make art with flowers, and thats not an exaggeration. Not only are they professional, but the people at The Purple Poppy are just genuinely good people.

Amazing beauty and quality. My husband had delivered to me a beautiful arrangement from Purple Poppy. Not only has it been lovely, it has lasted and grown more attractive over time. It is now in its 8th day since delivery and it is honestly as beautiful as the day it arrived (very, very unusual for an arrangement filled with hydrangeas, roses, lilys and snapdragons). It is just a delight to receive flowers from Purple Poppy, a florist that we have been led to by dear friends in our previous hometown in Illinois, who wanted to have sent to us a floral housewarming gift when we moved to Wake Forest two years ago, and who chose the Purple Poppy for that very important assignment based on their excellent ratings. Those high ratings and our trust in them ever since have been justified over and over in our experience with them.

I walked into Dougs store in Wake Forest and immediately knew. The coziness, painted furniture, cottage feel is what I strive for in my home and part of the wedding vision. I was going for a romantic, southern, garden themed wedding. With 105 degree unexpected weather in June my flowers survived all day long and beyond. My boquet was amazing pink peonies with a sentimentality to it. Doug wove my grandmothers handkercheif through my Peonies and added my moms brooch. My girls carried a simple and elegant hydrangea boquet. The guys had a great blue thistle bout. We even had silk flower wreaths for the doors that were perfect and made the space pop. Doug was an absolute pleasure to work with- from the first phone call to our first planning meeting and of course the day of our wedding- he was very professional, attentive to what we like, and delivered everything we had envisioned and more on the day of our wedding! Choosing The Purple Poppy as our florist was truly one of the best decisions we made. Doug remained true to our budget and his proposal, making sure we knew exactly what we were paying for- no surprises here (relief to any bride and groom). He made certain that his staff knew exactly what our vision was and even went out of his way on Monday to call my mother since he knew I was on my honeymoon to make sure we were all happy. Our guests are still raving about our gorgeous flowers!!

I ordered from Purple Poppy a few months ago and was so pleased. I called today, at the last minute, for flowers I wanted delivered today for a birthday. They were extremely accomodating! The flowers were delivered shortly thereafter. I got a call from the recipient afterwards telling me how beautiful they were. I have ordered flowers from the Northeast to S. Florida all the way to Texas and by far, Purple Poppy outshines them all! Their customer service is the BEST and their arrangements are OUTSTANDING! They are not your typical cookie cutter flower arrangements. If I ever need flowers delivered in the Raleigh area again, this is who I will call and you should too!

These guys did a phenomenal job on the flowers for my wedding! I was very open to their input (they are the flower experts, not me!), and I think that allowing them to have a lot of creative freedom with the arrangements resulted in some truly amazing floral designs. They used a really interesting variety of flowers, berries and plants in my arrangements that all went together perfectly. We could see our guests taking tons of pictures of the table centerpeices during the reception. The whole process was super low stress, I really never felt concerned about the flowers at any point. If you go with Purple Poppy, you will be in excellent hands.
