Good shopping experience, quick, fair prices and sales. I do wish FI would have a full deli bakery with fresh hard rolls, muffins, all type of breads. Today, 5-15-17, at 1:30pm, I was loading my groceries inmy car. A Food Lion employee was maintaining the shopping carts in the parking lot. I could not see his name as he had a safety vest on, while working. This young man had his hands full, rounding up carts and noticed I was packing my large grocery purchase in my van. I also had a large 32 bottle pack of water under my cart. This young man asked me if he get the water from under my cart & put it in my car. I was so pleasantly surprised! This young professional (who looked completely squared away), stopped what he was working to offer me his assistance with expecting nothing in return. How refreshing! If this young man is an example of the caliber of people Food Lion employs, my hat is off to them. Good job, Food Lion, in Southport NC. I hope the company appreciates this young man - he was pleasant, well groomed, very busy but, apparently, well aware of what goes on around him, too. And, very professional. I wish to thank him, again, for assisting me, when he didnt have to. His mother & family can be proud of their work & this young man. Good job, and thank you for your kindness and assistance. Its a new store from the one across the street, but its really lacking. The staff was ignorant, didnt seem like they wanted to be there and that wasnt just one person, the moral just seems flat. Maybe because they got a new store, but they are treated like dirt, I personally saw management talk down to a staff member, note to them, if you need to repremand someone, do it in a back room where they can be honest, not Infront of customers where you know they will try to be polite to you..be a manager. Not an oppprotunistic dick-waffle. Never shopping here again and I hope others go to the Lowes instead. Potential Customers and staff. This place may be new, but its basic. Not impressed.

We love this Food Lion. Much cleaner and nicer than the normal FLs we are used to. Great FL prices and they have a big selection. The butcher shop is very small and limited, as I believe they do all the butcher work somewhere else and ship it to the store (corporate cost cutting measure, Im sure). But they have good prices on meats. For instance, their hamburger is several $ per pound cheaper than Lowes (their meat prices are crazy high).

I normally hate food Lions, but this one is brand new and very clean inside. Decent produce selection. Deli is cheap, but you can taste the difference between food lion and boars Head delis. The seafood counter had nothing, I mean it was empty. Other than that it was a typical grocery store.

Went in for beer, came out with beer. Docked a star because the checkout speed was horrendous, it took us what seemed like 15 minutes to get started. I dont know if it was because of the customer or the cashier wasnt sure what to do. But, it was preventing my beer purchase.

Such great customer service!!! Nice to have employees bag your groceries-- at other grocery stores in the area, you sometimes end up bagging your own. It is things like this that will make me a repeat customer!!!
