I shop Food Lion every year when Im on vacation at the beach. The store is always clean. The employees friendly and hard working. Management will go out of their way to meet your needs or ensure youre satisfied. Meats and cheeses from the deli are fresh. Baked goods are fresh, and not stale. On weekends the line may be long, but employees work hard to get customers checked out as quickly as they can. I enjoy shopping for my groceries at this Food Lion.

I was excited and happy for the new Food Lion and have been a few times. However, today while shopping I encountered a shopper with a dog in the grocery cart where we also place our food. It is appalling that this would be allowed in a public grocery store and especially having dogs lying in the food carts! I believe this unsanitary practice needs to be addressed, and I wonder how the board of health would respond.

Whenever I get down to Oak Island I stopped in at the local Food Lion and pick up the Necessities I will need while I am there rather than bringing them from home. Always very helpful everyone there and always willing to help you find what you were looking for since I am not that familiar with that particular Food Lion store.

Best grocery store in the area. Only good grocery store on the island, so it can get busy. Clean and has very good selection of craft beers and produce. Meat department is more basic, but theres a lot of fresh fish markets on the island.. so that may be due to the competition.

This must be the most clean and well organized Food Lion ever. Which is doubly impressive considering they have a large grocery store monopoly on the island and dont technically have to try very hard. People would still shop there out of convenience even if they were terrible.

Its a little pricey and kind of small so they dont have as many options as you might be used to. People are friendly though and it keeps you from having to leave the island.
