Costco in Raleigh is amazing. We have been members for over five years, and last year, they explained to us how an Executive membership would be beneficial for us - or they refund all the money of the new membership. They were NOT wrong. By spending for the higher Exec membership, we actually got the AmEx TrueEarnings card, which we pay off every month, and get killer returns in the form of cashback to spend at Costco. We also get an annual check from Costco of something like 1% cashback for everything we bought at Costco. Combined, in the last year, we got $260+ back, which equaled lots of free groceries!!! So when they "pressure" you to get the higher membership, remember they refund you if you dont get your money back, and it IS getting a free membership, essentially, and then some. People who get testy about it dont get how it works. Further, Angela and Susan are my absolute favorites. I always try to be in their lanes (and another lovely gal, whose name I dont know, despite the fact she too has worked there forever, and I should - shame on me). They are quick, polite, and super helpful. Lastly, their return policy is STELLAR. NO ONE - AND I MEAN NO ONE - beats it - or even comes close. We rarely have to use it, but after having a $1000 Canon camera defunct on me, I took it back without the box or anything... I showed Butch and Bryan what was wrong, and Bryan worked hard to figure out how to rectify it. This was after having it for months! They completely replaced it for me, and were willing to refund me if I had preferred. (I just wanted a camera that worked.) Name ANY OTHER company that would do that?! Granted, their prices have gone up over the last two years - but look at the economy. Whose prices havent gone up?! Food Lion is as expensive as any store now, and Costco, on most products is a HUGE value, and stellar stellar quality. Well worth it. <3 Costco. ~ Ashley Sue

A membership here, especially in Raleigh, pays off quicker than youd think. If youre a carnivore like myself, the cost of protein essentially requires you to sell an organ to sustain a steady diet at almost every other retail experience. Costco, however, has prices Im used to seeing in Texas, where for the same cost as getting a four pack of chicken breasts at a competing retailer, Costco sells you 16 giant monstrosities from what I can only assume are small dinosaur chickens for exactly the same price. This is true of steak as well, and now Costco has added the Prime Meat section, its pretty much a win every time I walk into the place. Ontop of that, they are constantly shifting their floor, which means youre not going to see the same thing more than twice when you go in there. They cycle their products rapidly and effectively, and everything is priced well below the competition. Give it a go if youve been considering a membership, and while youll probably start with the entry level card, youll be at the premium level in no time getting 2% cash back on every purchase, paying your membership at the end of the year plus some if youre like me.

THis place is NEVER busy compared to Costco stores in California! You may have to line up a bit here at peak times but thats nothing compared to the madhouse that the Burbank store is at almost any hour of the day. My wife and I will pop in here to buy a roast chicken where in CA we wouldnt go unless we knew for a fact everybody was elsewhere doing something else. Superbowl SUnday after the kick-off was a favorite. Anyway, Costco is an amazing store. They have amazing policys both to their customers and to their staff. I cant recommend them enough. Great products from brand names as well as great products under their own brand. My wife swears by their wine. Lowest price on gas(but no mid-grade or diesel). Lots of organic products and some great desserts. Yes you have to have somewhere to store it all but if you do its a fraction of the price in a regular store. We bought a TV there and they lowered the price 2 weeks later. I went back to them and they gave me the difference!! Cant say it enough, but we love Costco.

Im a member of both Sams Club and Costco, and in my not-so-humble opinion, Costco is the superior choice overall. The low prices here are a given, but what surprised me was how much more pleasant the overall shopping experience is compared to Sams. The employees (and even the other shoppers) just seem happier. It doesnt hurt that Costco has the cheapest gas around, or that Ive become addicted to the frozen mochas from the snack bar. Theyre like Frappuccinos, but less than half the price. I should also give a shout-out to the tire department. My old tires developed a bubble in the sidewall, making my car unsafe to drive, so I called Costco to see if they had anything that fit my car in stock. They didn’t, but since it was an emergency, they overnighted a new set of tires to the warehouse at no cost to me. Im not quite ready to give up my Sams membership, but I dont think Im going to be using it as much as I used to.

I find it hard to believe that Im going to give Costco five stars but I really do love it. This location on Wake Forest is pretty darn busy, ranging from the gas lines to check-out but I really do think its worth the trouble. From the electronics to tires and other household items, its easy to find great deals here for the family. But of course the food and wine areas are what I really love at Costco. Good quality wine bottles for not much dough, custom sheet cakes for $18, huge packs of meat for parties. And a ton of quality spices, basic pantry ingredients for low, low prices. And once youre checked out, grab a bite at the Costco food stand for a hot dog and drink ($1.50) or tasty slice of pizza ($2). Ill occasionally stop at Costco for gas and a bite to eat, not even to shop. So yes, put up with the huge parking lot, lines and craziness at Costco to get a great deal. I guarantee you its all worth it...

If I had written this a year ago Id have given service an excellent rating but service as of late is slack or non existent. Today we wanted to purchase a sofa/chaise bed, we were driving our Honda Accord so we wanted to purchase it, then go home grab the truck & come back & pick it up. Well at first we were told "sure, we just cant hold it overnight" but by the time we got ready to leave the checkout a manager "Brian" came over & said no, we cant hold it even for 10 minutes even if you pay for it now. Plus, they wouldnt even help my wife load the darn thing on a cart to get it to the register. Definitely a bunch of uneducated in customer service type of folks working there, Ive had better service at The Dollar Store, sad, because we like the product selection & prices, just be prepared to do everything yourself.
