I was disheartened and felt defeated after one of their workers named Janice continued to tell me that I could not make a t-shirt quilt the way that I was describing. Never did she ask if she could make a suggestion, she kept stating it would not work the way I wanted to make it. I wanted to make it with a polar fleece backing. After 2 hours of continuing to find a fabric that I wanted for the backing, I was exhausted from her uncaring, defeating, unprofessional manner. She was very abrasive in her demeanor towards me. I had my two boys with me who are older and we were all exhausted from her. She stated that the fleece I chose would not work. Since it was for my daughter in law and grandchildren I viewed several videos online that showed how to make a tshirt quilt with polar fleece. She stated she had 40 years experience with a college degree and she knew more than me. I am sure I just like to sew and sometimes I just like to make my own patterns and have my own ideas, which I did not express to her...Without going into more detail I should have left without a purchase, but I waited long enough for her to leave and then I made my purchase...it was an exhausting experience. :( The manager stated she was taking care of this, I really hope so because my family said they were not going to go there any longer.

Joanne gets a ZERO STARS for its coupon policy! I had been in Joannes so long today my phone died. I had several bolts of fabric along with notions and when I asked the clerk if she had any printed coupons I could use because I couldnt access my phone she said, No we arent allowed, but I can hold your cart while you charge it in the car. As I sat in the car charging my phone, I began to feel like any other self-respecting person would have said Um, thanks anyway and driven away. If you dont have a smart phone or dont realize you could do that but see others online with coupons -- isnt it an incentive to leave the store?! Why would you want to purchase something for more money, feeling like you could have gotten it cheaper. It is a true disencentive to shopping here. LEAVE THE PRINTED COUPONS OUT... I promise people will shop more, buy more and feel better about coming in -- not thinking, oh, i Have coupons at home maybe I will come back later. NOW.. on the reason I gave Joannes in Pineville FIVE STARS! Today I was helped by a young woman, "Carla" in the fabric department. She was the most knowledgeable, kindest person Ive met in a long time. She not only gave excellent answers to my questions she was kind and supportive. Carla gets TEN STARS and that, averaged with the ZERO -- equals 5-Stars!

I was purchasing 4 items 1 was not on sale I attempted to use my double coupon as I previously did.. The rude unprofessional worker name PAGAN yeah...I know.. Tells me I very rudely I can not use it.. So I paid for my items and left.. I called to speak to a manager and spoke to yet another unprofessional worker name Jennifer who was also very rude.. She wouldnt let me talk on the phone she over talked me and tells me .. Oh.. Your wrong we dont use double coupons I been here 3 years and I can tell you we dont.. TMI I didnt call there to find out how long she was miserable and under paid.. I wanted assisted then her unprofessional self tells me to call back at 11 when the other supervisor come in!! I tell you with this experience I am not investing my hard earned money in the store again!! Ill drive to pineville Matthews before I go there again.. And management need to take another training class on how to conduct a professional shift.. In addition she needs too clean her appearance up because she looked like she just woke up and came too work.... VERY DISSATISFIED!!!!!!

My husband was treated very poorly by a lady who I wont name but starts with A and ends with GeeWiz. The other day, I called around lunch time or so and "A" answered the phone. I wanted to know if they still carried a product which they did and had 3 in stock. I called back a few minutes later and someone else answered and asked her to hold them and she said they would. Well, that night I sent my husband up to get them and when he got there, the lady "not named above" was really rude to him. She said she took my call and I never said anything about holding them but told him where they were and what I called for (my husband didnt know I made two calls). She said things that were completely unnecessary and was mean, treated him like a liar and acted as though we were an inconvenience. My husband is a very laid back, chill sort of man who will put up with a lot out of people. So, for him to come home and say "I have never been talked to by someone the way that lady spoke to me" lets me know he was treated Horribly!!! I will NEVER shop there again!! Cool craft store. I like their products, but customer service is not so great. I walked around for about 30 minutes trying to find someone to help me. The fabric line was about 15 people deep and the check out line was way worse. They only had 3 people working. I felt horrible for the girl at the cash register all by herself. Because I couldnt find anyone to help, I had to leave a message with her to see if they could locate a product I needed. No one ever called me back. I called back the next day and still no one called me back. I called again today and asked to speak directly to the manager. She seemed less than enthusiastic to help me out. I stayed on hold for about 5 minutes before she came back and said she didnt see the product I needed and wasnt sure if they would get any more. Not very helpful to say the least...

I was so excited that Joanns was finally opening in Charlotte but stepping through the front door my heart sank. This store is nothing like the nice ones you find in Knoxville, Kansas City or Michigan. It has a really old look and does nothing to encourage you to shop there. They do not have a good layout, their floral area is a joke as well as their home decorating fabric area. This place reminds me of the old stores from 30 years ago. It is an ok place to get your fabric but there is always a long line for fabric cutting and usually only one person on the register. I go here just because I may need fabric but Michaels is still the go to for everything else. Its a shame because the bigger stores they offer in other areas are much more appealing and offer a wider array of crafts and fabrics.

Great experience!!! I was very pleased with the stores choices! I am making an Angelica Teach costume and needed fabric for her waistcoat, I found everything I wanted from trim to lining!!! The person who helped us (Marilyn) with reading the pattern and measuring the fabric was so friendly and answered ALL our questions, very friendly and very honest about finding good fabric for our purpose. When we finished with our fabrics, the person who checked our fabric and trim out (Brooke) was very nice as well, we just gave her one coupon, and she showed us we could use more coupons and gave us a bigger discount! This was a great experience! I cant wait to wear my Angelica Teach costume to the Pirate Dinner, I highly recommend this Joannes!
