The best Chai Tea Latte Ive ever had! My friend and I came here maybe a month or two ago. It was my second time, her first time, so we asked for a good recommendation. The girl who helped us was very sweet and welcomed us, and mentioned that their Chai Tea Latte was pretty tasty. Chai Tea Lattes are one of my favourite drinks and so of course I wanted to give this one a try. My friend and I both ordered one, and when one of the staff members brought it to us at our table (which was also really nice!), we were both really impressed! We will definitely come back here. The atmosphere was very cozy and welcoming. Board games are available for you to play with whoever you happen to be with!. We brought our own deck of cards so we played that for a while and a group behind us was playing a Harry Potter board game! Felt like I was at a peaceful family get together. Haha! All in all a really great experience - Ive recommended this to basically all of my friends. The location is wonderful as well! Easy to just step out and walk around NoDa area and explore a bit. The only downfall (if you choose to see it that way) is parking! Both times I came here, I had to park a little ways away. Maybe it was because I didnt look hard enough? I didnt mind though. I enjoyed the entire experience!

Gave it two stars because the coffee was great and the lady who initially served us was awesome but we left with a bad taste in our mouths. We came in with my dog, hes very small and inconspicuous-he wasnt bothering anyone. Everyone was fine with him being there, there were no issues whatsoever until an employee (who didnt look like an employee at all) walked in and told us passive aggressively to get our dog out of the store unless he was a service dog so we left for a few minutes. My husband came in about 5 minutes later to grab a Dixie sized cup of water for our dog and aparently since we left for all of five minutes were "no longer customers" and couldnt get a Dixie sized cup of water that doesnt cost them hardly anything, according to the same girl. I actually would consider coming back if it werent for her, she was rude and obviously in a bad mood and if thats the way they treat customers I want nothing to do with it. Thanks but no thanks. Dont consider bringing your dog in, especially if theyre small and harmless.

If someone asks me where my favorite coffee shop is in Charlotte, its Smelly Cat hands down. My husband and I have visited over 75% of all non-chain coffee houses in Charlotte and surrounding areas. My favorite thing about Smelly Cat is that (someone correct me if Im wrong) all the tea and coffee is organic and the syrups are made from pure cane sugar. They roast their own beans and you can tell someone put a lot of love in the drinks. The barista are always really friendly people who dont mind my weird order, and the shop is small and interesting. The only thing that is really disappointing is the parking situation. Its extremely cramped and near impossible for my Toyota Tundra to even fit in a parking space. We cant even go on some days because of it being so crowded with not enough space. Since we drive 30 minutes just to get there, its important that we have somewhere we can actually park once we get there! Still, if I want coffee, this is where I go.

Just moved to Charlotte and with the coffee maker still packed away I was in great need of a coffee. A quick google search brought me to Smelly Cat Coffeehouse. I tried a pour over Ethiopian coffee for the first time. The pour over technique I learned makes a smoother coffee and allows more even extraction of the coffee grounds. Well this here is one of the best, smoothest coffees Ive had! With the awesome atmosphere, super friendly and knowledgeable staff (who doesnt scoff at you for ordering a "large" coffee like a certain overrated coffee chain), and darn good coffee this place is a no-brainer! I look forward to purchasing my coffee beans at Smelly Cat, roasted right there in their shop, and giving the pour over technique a try at home. You will not be disappointed here!

Im a avid coffee drinker and the coffee quality and taste is very important. My lady told me about this place called Noda and Smell Cat popped up. With a list of great reviews I had too try it out. Starbucks can only thrill a coffee lover so much till we need a new unique taste. This place has a amazing ambience and atmosphere. Youll notice private tables and their coffee roaster right in the middle of the store. Ive tried two of their blends, Black Cat being my favorite. I took a bag of LLorana home which was a little darker. Very good roasted coffee. I highly recommend. Only problem, too far from my house.

Finally got to see what all the smelly cat hype was about! Ive seen this place a million times since moving to Charlotte but never tried it. Im a iced coffee fanatic but I decided ah heck why not step out of the box. I got the vanilla iced latte with skim milk. It was good the service was really good and she even let Me sample a few things. Parking lot is very small and minimum seating in shop but outdoor seating is nice and being the fact I was in shade and able to read my book in 90 degree June weather was definitely a plus. Love this place will definitely be back

This place is worth the experience, went here with a friend who recommended it and I wanted to go, so we did, it didnt quite meet the modern/hip that I usually try to find in coffee shops and I was hoping to try there Ethiopian coffee in a pour over but they were only brewing African Union which turned out very good but unless Im not as good as I think I am it was roasted a bit darker then I prefer, however it was good experience, the decor was awesome and it appears they roast their coffee there at the cafe!

Love this place. My only complaint is the hours change. I used to enjoy going after work but they close early now Monday through Wednesday. Absolutely awesome coffee and service. The cold brew is smooth and on point. They dont offer sugar free but Im okay with that overall. They will customize anything for you. Pastries are delectable too. Cool, relaxed vibe here. They have games and outdoor seating. Wonderful coffee stop.

Found this quaint little place on a recent trip to Charlotte, and it was exactly what I was looking for. Cozy and intimate inside with great music playing. Service was absolutely amazing. Very cheery and helpful. And a wonderful surprise that they have almond milk as well for milk substitute(most places only have soy)! If youre in town and just need a couple hours to kill, this is def a place to check out.

Love the front cafe window seating. Place is cozy inside, but there is also much outside seating. There is cool standing bar to have a quick shot of espresso. Ready made meals and yummy treats. I had a mocha Frappuccino with 2 shots and whip cream. Ive never had a drink like this stay frozen for so long. Took me almost an hour finish it and it stayed frozen the whole time! I would definitely return here.
