I hadnt been to this store much before. I recently seen an article online about Belmont featuring the store. Thats mainly what prompted me to go in one weekday afternoon recently. I noticed theyve made some changes to their inventory. I purchased a very good but costly ice cream cone. I spent sometime browsing and found a lot I was interested in that I would potentially purchase. Despite my interest and recent purchase made, the owner apparently thought I was drunk. He called the police and had and officer approach me. I was completely appalled that a store owner would jump to such assumptions with absolutely no grounds. I wanted to throw up my ice cream cone. I will NEVER step foot into this store ever again. Must be the reason this store is virtually empty all the time and everyone working there seems indifferent to customer presence.

The store was better years ago. The owner is a jerk and I will share that with EVERYONE I know. I wont share the whole story on here. All you need to know is that I called to speak with him over an incident and all he did was lie. So sad, I used to bring my friends and family who visited from out of state to the store...but never again. Its overpriced and trashy anyhow.

The Belmont General Store is what makes small town America great. It has an historic hometown feel, ice cream bar and everything you need in one place. The staff was exceptionally nice. Well worth a trip to check this place out!

I enjoy walking into that store every time. Its a great place to hang out and grab some soda and ice cream. Its definitely my favorite place to spend my free time. I dont know why anyone would give this place 4 stars or less.

True story: My friend, Jane, saw a chapstick open and went to smell it, cuz she was gonna buy one if it smelled good. The owner saw her and thought she did it and made her pay for it.

Staff is friendly and helpful. The ice cream parlor is outstanding. Looking forward to trying all the different flavors. Especially like the Red Velvet Cake ice cream.

Owner was rude, This guy is a real idiot. Lowes and Home Depot are right down the street. I will not be back, I feel ashamed to have ever made a purchase there.
