UPDATE: On my next visit, the check out was friendlier. I shopped for a food bank, and picked out foods that are whole-grain. I noticed that the produce is adequate for most shoppers. There are still too many foods sold there that are too high in sugar, and fat for me. I buy high-fiber, low fat/sugar; again, the food was for a food bank, rather than myself. Very low prices, but youll pay in terms of health care. The service was not friendly either. Ive heard of Aldi, but never had the opportunity to shop there until yesterday. Wow, the prices are very low! Is the food good (nutritious)? Most is questionable, the produce, and frozen veggies are good. I found whole wheat gnocchi, Im impressed. I also purchased some brown ready rice. Amazingly, I found a quinoa/brown rice blend as well. Most of the other groceries are too low in fiber for me. Checking out was performed by The Wicked Witch of Syracuse. A woman in front of me checked out, but she wasnt fast, also not rushed. My turn, I advised her that I am deaf, and I read lips in several languages. A cart was in front of me that I didnt want, so she piles my groceries in the cart for me to put into my bags. I am not fast, I have M.S. (an invisible disability). As I am taking items out of the cart, she is filling the cart with the next persons groceries--very rude. Maybe because Im male? Fortunately, I walked across the parking lot to Green Hills--yes! I expected to find lots of canned goods in Aldi, but didnt see many. I was looking for Progresso, or another brand of healthier soup. Ill think thrice before shopping here again.

Great prices on groceries. You need a quarter to rent a cart and, bring your own bags but, there are good bargains and, the food quality has really improved.
