Im so Frustrated... 4 (yes, you read it right.. FOUR) Hard Pulls on Credit History. And thats not all. 1. I found 3 Toyota Ravs there for around $17k. None of them was available (I scheduled test drive for one of them). 2. Toyota Camry XLE Hybrid they showed me had a bump. So then dealer showed me a good one Toyota Camry SE 2015 for $15 995 with 34k miles. I checked inside/out, everything was great. They ran credit check on Friday. 3. Now. I was need to come by on Monday (they had Sales Day this day), but they called me and were unable to tell me if I was Approved. And the dealer was out of office (although he told me he will contact me on Monday). I received call from George (an Owner), who apologized and assure me he will make me Happy (yeah...) Nightmare begins here.... 4. Tuesday. Before getting to Finance office, I did a test drive on Camry, all good, but I found a Scratch on surface. Passenger seat. Above airbag location close to front window (around 6 inch long). 5. Finance "Nice" Guy.. ALI. My down payment $1800 ($2100 in total with trade in) Ali tells me I approved for 13% Apr. by Wells Fargo Bank. its $365-375/month. It was under my budget, and I was looking to discuss a price and terms. I mentioned about scratch to get some discount. Ali. He gave me 500$ off (looks fine right? Nice guy.. gaves me discount $500.. Why Im so bad to them?!) And he can make it $325/month. (72 months term) I told him, I was thinking about (after my calculations), $250-275... maximum around $300/month. Then Ali calls me a CHEAP GUY. Seriously?!?! How damn Unprofessional is it?! Im Not Cheap, and Not Fool to pay for $16000 car $23500 (over pay 7500 +2100 of down payment). Also, remember 13% APR? Lets do a math.. and $365/month will show you its 15% APR! (Dont tell me about current and yield APR. If you say 13%.. you have to stand for it.. 13%) I asked Ali, What about Capital One bank.. they are authorized with Capital One (its how I found them). Ali tells me he was unable to reach them. I decided to pass for now, take a day-two to think about it. NOW... At morning.. I receiving an alert on my Credit Score.. 4. F-O-U-R Hard pulls. Credco, Toyota, CAP ONE, Wells Fargo. I called CAP ONE, asked them if Toyota Island Reached them day before.. and .. THEY Reached them, and I was APPROVED for 11.16% APR. How do you like it?! Im receiving a follow up call. Explaining them a Problem. And George (an Owner) calls me back. Trying in beginning to push on me (with you have Bad Credit.), but after my Story, he tries to resolve that case. He guarantees me 11.16% APR and $260/month x 72 months terms. ($2500 discount) By the end, I decided to drop a case. That Camry Not Toyota Certified, and I didnt want to get a risk, even car was really nice (except for a scratch). CONS: 1. Never Deal with Finance there. 4 Hard Pulls. Your Credit will be destroyed. 2. Poor, unprofessional and rude financing service. A lot of LIES. 3. Misleading Advertising. (none of 3 Toyota Ravs was available. Even with Test Drive Scheduled) BTW.. My Credit Score, because of Toyota Island Manipulations Felt Down -42 Points. Thanks for making me Happy!

After researching several vehicles and dealerships on CarGurus, I visited Island Toyota to view a 2013 Corolla. Breaking this review down into separate sections: Price, Personality, Purchase, Finance, Service. Price: they had the third lowest price on my desired year, make and model in a 120 mile radius. All within $400 of one another. Being that they were ~10 miles from my home, this was the logical choice. Saw several other vehicles on the used lot as well - all very well priced. Personality: initial interaction with the company was through the internet sales rep, Amanda. Very friendly person. Scheduled an appointment to see the car. Visited the dealership a few evenings later and spent a few hours with a sales rep, Shawn. Personable, down to earth, and happy to answer any questions I had about the vehicle. All in all, a great group of people. Purchase: after deciding I was interested in purchasing the car, we sat down to "do battle" over price. All in all, this was a very painless process. I was up front with what I wanted, Shawn was upfront about what he could and couldnt do on price and add-ons. The entire negotiation process lasted 10 mins, and we landed on a deal that was mutually beneficial. Finance: I take my credit seriously. I went in pre-approved for a 36mo loan at 2.81%. Jorge, the Sales Manager, got me 1.9% at 36mo. Nothing else to say here - hell of a good rate, thanks Jorge. Service: There was a miscommunication between rep and salesperson. Nothing too serious - theyre a business, it happens. Submitted a survey with feedback and the Sales Manager and someone from Customer Service was on the phone with me, without exaggeration, in less than 8 minutes to apologize and make it right. I havent had any employee, at any company, for any reason, respond to me that quickly. Major props. Shawn and Jorge also stayed at the dealership until 10pm to get the deal done, and Shawn dropped the car at my house the next day, at 9:45pm. All in all, this was a fantastic experience, and one that I would recommend to others. They made my first car purchase enjoyable, which is a difficult thing to accomplish. Thanks, guys.

This is the first time in history Ive seen a dealer that is not interested in selling. Or maybe selling to a certain type of people. I found no other explanations for the way I was treated. In my experience, as soon as you inquire about a car, dealers do everything in their power to attract you into buying that car or another car from them. But these people.... first I chatted with an agent online who told me he was going to make sure the car doesnt have a pending offer on it and will get back to me ASAP. Ive been shopping around, and usually dealers get back to you in the next 5 mns and never later than the next day. I WAITED 2 DAYS, then I called just because I was really interested in that car (it was #1 in my list after I shopped around) and I really needed to buy a car ASAP. NO BODY ANSWERS THE PHONE. So I texted them. An agent told me the same thing, they will check and get back to me later, after taking my personal information. The next day again, for the 3rd time I chatted with a agent online again and made it clear it was my 3rd attempt. They ask how soon I wanted to buy, I said asap, like tomorrow. They said they will certainly let me know "today". When I havent heard from them until the next day, I took a Uber for 80$ and went there (Staten Island). I spent nearly 2 hours in traffic in the tunnel and made it at 4:52 pm (They were closing at 5). I explained to them that I was stuck in traffic, but they look like they were all leaving and I understand. But they didnt even care about what I was here for. When I said it was a Toyota Camry Hybrid 2014, they said oh its accross the street (they have different locations around the same spot). I crossed the street, the guy accross was also leaving and when I told him what car I was here to see, he said: Yeah its in the lot over there as he was taking off. Like I was just going to see it by myself. I just dont get it. Couldnt they just say its not available or something? They sure need some customer service skills!
