Pet Country is a wonderful addition to the Hudson Valleys meager list of independently owned pet stores (we do our best not to go to Petco/Petsmart/Petland). The owners provide a fun shopping atmosphere, have a huge selection of dog foods that you rarely see anywhere else, and always remember us when we bring in our hound. Personally I think that the owners could be more knowledgeable about their products , (i.e. - knowing more about the brand/food than what is listed in the product propaganda) but we really appreciate their huge selection. No where else can you get such quality foods for such low prices.

I am trying to find out what their hours are before I schlep over there and find they are closed, because they have unusual hours and days. I asked for a card to help me remember this information, but this store has no cards with hours and information and no website. They are good as far as the products, layout of store, etc. But whats with the lack of communication and information? And, as said by many, they never answer their phone.

Pet Country is a wonderful place to shop for your pet. They have an incredible selection of dog food and treats. The couple the runs the store is so lovely and always there to answer questions. Their prices are also great. This is what local business is about- being recognized when you walk in the door with a smile.

Not only is the service utterly courteous, but the owners (especially the lovely kind humane woman) are inordinately helpful. They never try to sell the more expensive brands, but only what is better for my dog. I hope their business keeps thriving.

We went there on Saturday to find a small net and a bowl because my daughter won two goldfish at the Dutchess County Fair, but they were closed at 4:00. Their sign said they were supposed to be open until 5 or 6. Hope everything is ok, there.

They NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE!!!!! the only reason i go to them is because its the only store in upstate new york that has my dogs brand of food!! they also feel as though it professional to take the first 2 parking spots!
