I was recently in the store and when i came out, about 6 carts had hit and scratched my car. I went inside and spoke to DAVID FRIEDMAN "the manager" and he seemed very nice and said no problem, we will file a claim and the insurance company will pay for it. ok i thought and was happy, he even came and looked at the car and saw all the damages and told us to save the pics we took. I then received a call from their insurance company saying that they are denying the claim because DAVID FRIEDMAN said there were people out collecting carts, so they were not responsible!! NOW Im upset!!! There were carts all over that parking lot! my guess would be about 25!!! no way someone was out there to collect them. not to mention when we called to complain they said they would send someone out there to collect the carts, and 20 minutes later, there were carts still everywhere!!!. There is no place to even return carts to! When i called DAVID FRIEDMAN after i spoke with the insurance company, he had changed his tune. He was no longer nice, and could care less about my problem, and completely rude, and said that hes not involved!!! In any case Im looking into hiring a lawyer. Im not looking for a brand new vehicle or thousands of dollars, i just want to be whole again, i didnt go there with my car all banged up, but i sure did leave there with it! I will never go to this store again! and as a manager myself, i would never treat people the way that DAVID FRIEDMAN did. my guess is that if he told the insurance company THE TRUTH, it would fall on him. So instead he lied and said there were people collecting the carts!

There is a staff named " David/ Michael" Friedman who claimed himself to be the store manager of this location who rudely stop me when I was trying to make a purchase at the store. I was having a big party for my sons birthday and I was going to purchase 2 cases of strawberries but he came to the register saying I could only allow to purchase one so the cashier did what he was told and he threaten me thats whats allowed or I will call the security I was like what the heck? You are treating your customers like criminals this is unacceptable and extremely bad customer services!!! And I explained to him that I dont see any sign up there that state one case per customer even if thats the case I have my 2 friends with me. And I told him that its false advertising and if you want people to buy only up to one per customer you should have put a sign there at the strawberry sections but there was nothing there I even took pictures of that. He was trying to take my cart from me after I made purchase of one. And this Friedman even have the gut to tell me to remove the other two cases from the cart and bring back to the strawberry sections this was so ridiculous extremely rude stereotype staff and I think he is even racist. I will never ever shop at stop and shop again!!!! Horrible staff horrible customer service actually I should say no service at all instead you mistreat your customers!!! Too bad I am not coming back! I will never shop there again!

Although i like the store & it is convenient with a big variety, the produce dept is horrific. Nothing is ever fresh! Everythg goes bad the next day. Literally throw money in the garbage from the produce alone. I also had an issue with David Friedman as well. Hes supposed to be a "customer service manager," which must be a made-up title for a nonposition so thy can pay him less than a real store manager. The guy is anything BUT the title of that position. Hed rather lose a loyal customer than give them $1.50 for a sale item. Cashiers and the ppl packing out r usually very helpful, but this guy is the worst. Hes Extremely rude and actually lied to my face saying he cant do anything about the difference in price on the register, which is completely untrue. I hope his DM reads these reviews & I hope they make up some other title for him that has nothing to do with servicing their customers. I will no longer shop there bc of him. I feel for the woman who had her car damaged bc I know exactly what she means by his rude demeanor & the manner in which she was treated. I got the same rhetoric and i wouldnt put lying on her past him. He even looks slimey. David Friedman should NOT have any managerial position in any store, nevermind having to do w customer service. She should hire a lawyer, and stop&shop should hire a manager

This past Saturday, I captained a food collection campaign for Island Harvest, and promoted by NBC TV and Stop and Shop. The management staff at this New Hyde Park store were GREAT. In particular, a big shout out to store manager Michael Dauro, who went ABOVE and BEYOND to help me and my team in any possible way. He was genuinely caring, proactive, setting up tables and chairs, coming out often to check on us, moving bins around for us, and he even bought us pizza and drinks for lunch! He also donated food items from the store, and encouraged customers to donate the free box of Motzas to us. I have never seen a store manager so caring and involved, and I could immediately tell that his entire staff was a reflection of his kindness and helpful attitude. I would go out of my way to shop here, just because of Michael and his wonderful staff.

Love my Stop & Shop always well stocked, great deals, & the self check out lines are definitely one of my favorite things, but the quality of of thier produce, meat, cold-cuts its just fantastic at good pricing. My only complaint & its a big one...the bathroom, its always filthy never stocked w/toiletry when i leave it i feel digusted & wonder to myself how can the employers possibly follow health code standards in that kind of situation? And to think they go back out to the food???? Im not happy at al

Excellent supermarket with large selections for all grocery needs. The sizable produce section is enough for anyone who cooks for themselves or a family, an excellent and well-kept selection of meats lines the back, and the various other grocery needs can be met within the aisles of the store. Staff is useful, and if youre lucky, you might find a free sample table or two. Try out the personal scanners that you can check out at the entrance to save time on checkout.

Large store with great prices and a large variety of groceries. The associates are always helpful and polite. I wish theyd add spots to store shopping carts because most people just place the carts behind other peoples cars. Ive come out of the store many times to see a cart leaning against my car! How can people be this inconsiderate? Please stop and shop, if youre reading this, consider adding some cart zones or something in the lot. Please.

The store is big, and very well stocked. But that comes with a price. The place will always be crowded. Even with all the registers and self-checkout lanes open, be prepared for a wait to purchase your groceries and leave. The store is usually empty early in the morning (7-9 am), but the shelves usually arent restocked until after 9, so that one item you are looking may or may not be on the shelves if you go early to avoid the crowds
