I would highly recommend shopping at Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City or Walt Whitman mall in Huntington over Sunrise Mall. The Westfield Sunrise Mall has become much like a ghost town in recent times. During the week, there are times when the mall is scarcely populated. There is an element of trouble-makers who frequent this mall often, especially on the weekends. They are rowdy, obnoxious young people whose only intent seems to be is harassing mall staff and throw curses at anyone passing by. The situation has improved since Wal-Mart shut its doors last year. However, their presence is still felt, especially on the second level. On the other hand, there are many other rude, obnoxious characters who lack civility at its most basic kind that shop here. There is also a large senior crowd who frequent this mall. They really dont seem to have much consideration or respect for anyone but themselves. This is very evident in how they carry themselves in public. Pushing their way through store entrances and practically knocking you over with their bags. The mall itself is mostly lacking in any modern amneities. Tiles are falling off walls in certain sections; old broken flooring is evident in sections of the mall. The only upside to shopping here is Starbucks. This satellite store has friendly staff. The coffee, tea, pastries and snack foods are usually always fresh and delicious. Ruby Buffet is a nice Chinese restaurant to try out. Its located to the back of the mall, adjacent to Sears. The food is very good and there are many options to chose from. The staff is friendly and accomodating. The X-Sport gym is another exception that stands out from the rest. Modern style and a dignified setting dominates this facility. This fitness center seems to be the most modern accomodation from any other place in the mall. Unfortunately, most of this mall seems dull, poorly lit and the outside parking is a disaster. If youre walking be very careful of speeding vehicles, due to the flawed, non-linear design. Westfield mall is in dire need of a complete overhaul. Its really best to keep the shopping to a minimum here and go the extra distance for a better quality mall shopping experience.

The mall is good! But Kimmys Salon which in my case its not really a salon.....me and my sister on new years eve we went to go get the 25$ wash, cut&dry! We went there we got in horrible first expirience... The manager comes and starts and pushing me and my sister to go fast! The lady was washing my Dhe was beating my head !! After that we have to go dry it! But they took like 20 mins and then a lady comes and hands me a blow dryer! I was confused! She said to start drying my own hair and comb it! After that i wanted to go get my haircut and the lady did a horrible job she my hair the wrong way i just wanted a trim! And when we finished i went to my siter and they tried charging us $40 because our hair is long! And then the manager was confused so we paide 25$ each!!! Then out of nowhere he starts saying curse words to the lady that was cutting my hair! Because she took so long a nd the mall was closing! Sorry if i mispelled im typing fast because i have to go get my jair trimmied again!

Been going to this mall for close to 30 years and I always liked it. Have become pretty disappointed with it lately. They used to have some good restaurants on the first level near one of the outside entrances - Ruby Tuesday for one and there were even plans to put in an Italian restaurant. I guess they couldnt compete with the food court? Which is a real shame because its not a place where I like to eat ... always very crowded and LOUD, even louder compared to some of the other malls Ive been to like Roosevelt Field. Sbarro outside the food court used to be a quieter alternative, but I hear theyre gone now and replaced by an Asian buffet restaurant (which is fine if you like that sort of food but I really dont). Even The Source mall near Roosevelt Field has better restaurants. Such a shame because I like to go there to shop, but it really isnt a pleasure to dine there.

I used to go shopping to the mall but i had a very bad experience at the kimmys salon which is upstairs and operating by crooks.I left $120 down payment for real hair extensions for my daughter and they brought us process hair. When i asked them to give me my money back they refused. Also they refused to issue a receipt telling me that they dont have such a thing.I called the managements office and the mall security and they didnt wanted to get involved.I left a message to one of the managers named Peter and he never called back. The mall is going downhill because you see empty stores every time when you go there.I will never go back to the mall to spend even a dollar. I tell all my customers at the restaurant and friends how they treat me as a consumer.Do they run a background checks or they just rent the stores to anybody.People beware.Bad mall bad management.

Ive been coming here for pretty much my entire life so far with family & friends. Its not the best mall or even good now because half the malls stores have moved out, & there are a bunch of empty lots just sitting there waiting for probably another sushi bar, or exclusive brand that only has sizes up to Medium to move in...Although very expensive, I do really love the plus size stores, Spencers, & occasionally Sears or JCPennys, but there really is no variety anymore, & the stores that are left are too pricey, or filled with a bunch of counterfeit clothing being sold by foreigners begging you to buy something. Its just sad. This mall needs to step up their game big time.

I love this mall. Its usually not crowded, except during the holiday shopping season in Nov-Dec. Major retailers you usually see in malls are here. I especially like the random stores that you dont see in other malls. There are quite a few of these stores, as well as many kiosks. I like to have some coffee while I shop, so the Starbucks here is a bonus. Theres also a food court with a decent variety. I noticed some signs saying they are adding restaurants. One is almost ready for business. This mall is going through some changes right now, so some stores are moving to new spots within the mall, and some are leaving altogether, with news stores on the way.

This used to be my favorite mall, but I will never shop there again. They kicked out Pets4Luv animal shelter, that they got a lot of good publicity for allowing in, with only 2 weeks to try to arrange for homes for the 50+ animals housed there. I dealt with them getting rid of some of my favorite stores or arcades in the past but this was unacceptable. They handed out a death sentence to the animals so they can put another restaurant ( no one went to the others they had). I urge no one to shop there, go to Roosevelt field or Broadway. They have more shops and more diverse stores other than 3 nail salons and a bunch of copycat Abercrombie and Fitches.

Clean, got starbucks in center, play space for toddlers, a fish pond to discover, mom and baby bathroom with extra play area and tv to change or breastfeed ( sometimes can get overcrowded). Mall has export fitness gym that is also great. Most stores and restaurants are well and friendly managed. However the nail place on the corner of first floor is disgustingly dirty and workers treat you like you are in Chinese village, terrible service, bathroom ln the boiler room says literally" do not poop only pee" it is about the only sore spot in this mall, everything else is good.
