Have been looking for a new gun store with reasonable prices. First time in the store and I was very happy. Three other stores (Coliseum, Britt, and another in Mineola) wanted between $50 to $85 more for the same gun (Ruger LCP) which is even cheaper online. Bought the gun I wanted....but was hesitant to get the rest of the setup there...ammo...holster...mags etc. It surprised me that it was all well priced (same as online). They had everything in stock and the service was great. A couple of people said the older guy was rude. I didnt buy the gun from him but he did my background check etc the next day. He does come off a bit standoffish at first but is actually really nice, helpful, and a cool guy. Needless to say I will suck up a bit of a drive for a great store and give them my future business.

I have to say, I have been to many gun shops recently and Hunter is, hands down, the best shop on long island! My husband and I were looking for our first gun and we had a lot of questions and didnt really know much of anything. The guys at Hunter took the time to show us different guns and they answered all of our questions. Plus, as a woman I felt very comfortable with them, they didnt speak down to me, I was treated with the same respect all of the other customers were treated with. I highly recommend them, they have a wide selection of guns, rifles, accessories, etc...and what they didnt have they will get for you, and their prices are very reasonable.

Not very happy with this place at all. There web site states they have several different items in stock, and in reality when you get there they have absolutely nothing, and I mean nothing of what you just seen on there web site in stock.... They can ORDER it????? I can order it as well from the manufacturer, and save some money as well... And the real Kick in the Ass is, they seemed to care less about my business or offering any assistance at all... I know these types, been in to many of there stores. Dont like there attitudes , dont need there attitudes, not going to deal with there attitudes . Ill never be back in there.

Went to two different gun shops today. One out east and this one. I must say, I was impressed with their customer service as it did seem that they were there to help and not sell you useless crap or con you out of your money. Prices didnt seem especially steep and certain items were below market price! I recall seeing holsters for roughly $25 where the competition out towards the city would sell them for $30+ Other than that, I was thoroughly satisfied with my purchase and will continue to support their business in the future for any firearms purchase I may need. I dont mind spending an extra dollar for quality service.

I had the same experience as Mobius. The old man there doesnt have a clue. Cash in pocket , I asked to see a Mossberg 845 and he smugly hands me a Benelli saying this is what you want. I knew what I wanted and was ready to buy if they could order it. He Didnt know any prices of either gun. Then he gets Mark to help me but he was glued to his laptop and tells me to give him the model gun I want and he will call me later. Never heard from him, Brushed me off completely. If your not a cop the service is lame. Went to Gander Mountain and had my gun in a few days for a great price with no attitude.

I called up New York State DEC to find locations for renewing my saltwater fishing license. Hunter Sports was one of the locations. By the way I am also a Hunter. I walked over to the counter to ask about renewing my license and was told to read the sign. The sign said " 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Fridays Only! ". This is not a joke. Do they know that I went out of my way to get to the store, drove around to try and find parking. Maybe I should take Friday off so they can renew my license. If they were giving away free guns, keep them. Great way to build customer realtionships. BYE!!!!

By far the best gun shop I have visited on the island. Mark, the owner, is a very helpful, pleasant, stand up guy and a pleasure to do business with. The selection of both long guns and handguns in the shop is excellent and they have no problem with showing you whatever you want to look at. The older man who works there is a little unhelpful and not too talkative, but by no means nasty. Prices are great and Mark had no problem price matching a pistol. Will be doing all my gun purchases here from now on.

Dont waste your time with this shop. I tried working with them to complete a purchase over the phone. Was told, "well call you right back" - no call back. Then it was, "as soon as Im done with the customer in front of me, Ill call you right back" - no call back. Never offered an apology, only excuses. The only reason theyre still around is due to the lack of competition on Long Island, but there are a few better choices out there. Will never do business with these guys again.

Funtastic was shown a variety of shotguns starting with what I thought I wanted as we progressed and blow thru my budget allocated was very much undecided after I looked at almost every shotgun they had. Was told to think about it no pressure go home we will still be here went back following week and purchased the Winchester SX and later found I saved overall 10% by buying at Hunter Sport, also no problems getting 22s

Came here to get some ammo and I was told to hold on while someone checks for it. I waited a long time while several employees were just shooting the $h*t with each other. After about 20 minutes I just left. Its so sad to see another Long Island gun shop where customer service and friendly staff are non-existent. I would recommend everybody to go to Hunter Essentials in Albertson. The owner was very friendly and helpful.

They lie about what guns are available and which ones arent. Prices are okay. The whole staff other than jimmy is a flexer. By this I mean they assume you dont know what youre talking about and make outrageous comments about the power of some rounds- availability of some guns- and other issues. Not an overall intelligent place for gun owners- again- except jimmy. Jimmy just tells it like it is with no bs on the side.

Hunter Sports was so easy to deal with and gave me amazing customer service I wish they were closer so I could browse their selection more often. I purchased a great 687 Silver Pigeon III only trading emails and calls with the Mark at the shop. When the shotgun arrived at my FFL in VA with a few in a few days I was impressed and excited! Just like the pictures, great service and the value... AMAZING!

i had a great experience with them, very friendly. They made the buying process quick and painless. I will definitely continue to shop there. Right when i walked in the door a sales person asked me how i was and what he could help me with brought me strait to the rifle i was looking for and told me everything i needed to know about it. I am very big on first impressions and they made a good one.
