I was really excited when I moved to the Mahopac area to find a Homegoods store nearby. In the past few months I have spent more than $500 there in items to decorate my new home. Unfortunately today I had a very bad customer service experience that has made me rethink shopping there again in the future. I came to the store to return a comforter set, I had bought two with the intentions of returning one once I saw them in my bedroom. I made sure to keep my receipt with the comforter so that the return would not be a problem. However, when I went to return the item, I was told that since I didnt have the original credit card used that I can only get store credit. Now Ive shopped many places and have returned items where even though I have my credit card they did not even ask for it because they just use the information in their systems to credit the card used. The cashier consulted another cashier who was very aprupt and asked when I bought the item, and then was visibly dissappointed when she was told it was within the 30 day window for returns. I asked to speak to the manager and she suggested that I get the credit and then come back AGAIN with the card used to transfer that credit to my card. Now Im out the $66 and the time/gas/effort to come back to the store again, not to mention if I do not have the store credit, the credit card I used, my husband with me (since its his card), and the original receipt then they again could do nothing for me! None of the 3 employees offered any other solutions to this dilemna, I offered to get the CC numbers for them or to call the credit card company, but all they wanted to do was brush me off as quick as possible. What I can tell from this experience is that this particular set of customer service employees do not value me as a customer and I will rethink whereI purchase my home decor items in the future@!

This store is seriously organized! They value organization and beauty. The merchandise is color coordinated. Ive never seen so much thought put into little details! The store has a bit of everything. I love the furniture, the mirrors, their kitchen area, their pillows. Even their tea variety is great. The area has ample parking. Theres no going wrong in this decorators dream. I love it!!!

This store is usually very well organized and consistently has new stock added. The staff is always organizing and seeing if their customers needs any help. I can almost always find at least 5 things I want and this place is so affordable that I usually just grab them, because they may not last long.

I like this store, but I find a lot of damaged items for sale here. If Im going to a store where Im buying unused goods I do expect them to be in perfect condition
