I have shopped there since they opened in Johnson City some 20 years ago. At that time I shopped both the Giant and Wegmans, and then and for many years Wegmans deli, bakery and then butcher shop and produce great. But there is this one butcher who has been there awhile he is consistently rude and short to I and my husband particularly me, so I avoid the butcher counter because of him. It was once noticed by a friend with who commented, whoa he doesnt like you. Their butcher counter of late is no more than a remnant of what it was and most of their meat is pre-package.And when I was and on rare occasion now purchase their meat average at best and way over priced, but I do very much like their individually packaged chicken breasts and when those are on sale I stock up. Also, had a bad customer service experience with one of the women who staffed the cheese counter, I havent seen her in several months hopefully she is gone. Produce and special items still the only game in town, but their shelves are no longer well stocked seem to run out of things often, and "they have to go out back" to get something that should be stocked. More and more of their brand is taking over products in all areas of foods. Its still the first place I go when I am doing serious grocery shopping; overall with the exception of the grumpy butcher their customer service is well above average; but if this area ever has some worthy competition to Wegmans I will try it, as it is now I find the butcher shop and seafood in Price Chopper Binghamton better quality and far better service than Wegmans, but Wegmans produce and specialty items and subs unsurpassed in this area -- bakery is still pretty good.

For the convenience of drop off and pick up while grocery shopping at Wegmans the pharmacy doesnt actually hold up its end of the bargain. The lines are very often 5 deep and very often there is only one person cashing out. Its nice to chat up the customers, as a staff member might do, but often this happens while others are waiting on line. People who use a pharmacy are sometimes sick or in pain but there is very little offered--at least on an obvious level, or person-to-person--to make the wait more comfortable. The pharmacy should have a policy of not accepting more than a few groceries at its check out. Its so obvious and so considerate yet it falls outside the sensibility of the check out staff. Just a sign would help--such as that in an express lane. As for the staff, a mixed review. Some of the tech assistants are quite nice and helpful. The professional staff, in my experience, is usually rude, aloof, and not given to helpfulness or support. The staff who take in prescriptions have likewise been less than helpful or polite. There should be a big sign in the pharmacy break room: When in doubt, Help out! Like I hear from others, the convenience just doesnt hold up anymore.

I heard a rumour that Wegmans carried key lime pie filled twizzlers, only available for summer. I went to the candy aisle and to my disappointment they werent there. So after getting a few other things (trying to make up for not getting the twizzlers) I got to the cashier and asked her if the store carried them. She immediately got her manager who first went looking around the store to see if she could find them in the candy section and when she didnt see them, she proceeded to call the person who stocks the candy. She found out they were on a display in the dairy section... Of all places. She went out of her way to help me when I guarantee you another store chain wouldve looked in the candy aisle, saw it wasnt there and wouldve reported to me that they didnt have any. I was amazed at the customer service at this store! I might come around more often for good sales.

My husband and I love this pharmacy and the staff. We have done business with them since their opening of the store. There is not enough room to tell you about all the times one of the staff has not helped us out. One situation was when I had been going to my doctor several times with the same symptom, the skin was peeling from my arms, legs and face. There was no help in sight from him. I went to the pharmacy and one of the pharmacist asked me what medication I was on and she knew immediately what was the problem, the prescription that I was on actually was the culprit. My skin was healed immediately after getting a new prescription from my doctor. Bravo. All of the staff in the pharmacy have been wonderful to us. We are now moving to Atlanta and will miss them. We are hoping that we will find the same helpful people there.

Wegmans is probably the most over rated thing in the northeast. Every store Ive been to is always way overcrowded, and the quality of the food/produce is nothing special, despite what they claim. The prices are a little high too. I get the sense that theres some sort of snobbery and pretentiousness surrounding the act of shopping at Wegmans for some reason. Its like everyone thinks theyre too good to shop at Price Rite or something. I prefer local mom and pop grocery stores. Theyre a little more difficult to find, but the prices and quality are about the same, and youre treated as an individual person, not just as a transfer medium of cash. It actually puts money into the local economy instead of a big corporation centered elsewhere, which is what Wegmans has become.

While some may argue over whether or not their prices are as good as the competition, I have to say that we feel this is the best store in the area. The Wegmans brand foods have all been good, and the prices fair. The fact that so many harder to find items are consistently available and at reasonable prices, makes this truly one stop shopping. Not to mention the fantastic assortment of fresh and local fruits and veggies. Additionally, the 1 hour free daycare for children is fantastic -- they literally played with our son the entire hour and he cant wait to go back. When we have the time, this is the store we always end up going to.

Great store with excellent employees. Store brand items are always good and inexpensive. Large produce and organic food selections available. Tends to be very busy on the weekends, but with this being the only Wegmans in the area you shouldnt expect it to be otherwise. Have never had a bad experience, and been shopping here regularly for several years. The cafe section offers a wide selection of great food options. The subs are the best money can buy. Cant say enough good things about this store and the Wegmans company. Would highly recommend to all locals and visitors for their grocery needs.

was in September 18th too purchase 4 subs for a luncheon at work…Had arrived at 830, unaware that they didnt open till 9.( I had too be too work at 930). So I did some shopping and came back too see if perhaps I could order them earlier… was approached by a lady in the back, who told me no we need 24 hrs… Finally, good news! Jessie said he could help me and that he did. He made the subs, packaged up the condiments separately and made me one very happy customer! Thanks for all ur help Jesse! I truly did appreciate everything and u are an exceptional employee:)
