brought my car in at 8am to be told what the problem was with my car. Came back with a "quote" and told them i will be back at 1pm to get it fixed. was told that one part will be in at 1pm and the other at 3pm. brought the car the back at 1pm and didnt get my car back until 7pm( the shop closes at 6pm in Ithaca). i was told it was going to be ready at 5:30pm. As I left the store the same "light sensor" came back on. I didnt get 2blocks. I also miss a important class that is mandatory for training with the fire dept. so now i have to bring my car back in at 730am, possible lose hours off my job and wont get my car back in time before i have to use it for work. After all that I am very displeased with the whole service with what I was told. The assistant manger Matthew tired to resolved the issue by staying later and fixing the problem, sad to say didn’t help. I understand that he is trying to do his best and give me the best service possible but this is not in no way pleasing to me because I don’t believe some of the sale people with information on the time it takes to get the car done. I feel like now I have to sit inside youre shop and watch youre employees work to make sure that Im not being taking as a joke or taken advantage of. This is now the second time that Ive had to say something regarding service done at this location. Ive called the 800 number listed on the web site to also make sure that someone is knowing the problems in which I had to deal with today and in past dealings with this company

Very nice at first. I had an alignment due. I waited 2 hours 37 mins. I paid, sat in the car and noticed the tires were straight yet the steering wheel was a full half turn to the right. I let the manager know and was very nice and so was he in return. What made this visit worse was as I was waiting I noticed when my car was on the lift, it was running. OK. After another 20 mins it was done. After getting in the car I now noticed a new change. They used the AC while the car was running. So not only does that make the engine work harder but because of this it uses more gas, also as I started the car the AC wasnt even turned off. I find that disrespectful. Also Ive done many minor and major repairs to vehicles and done a few alignments with no issues yet now my car also pulls to the right a bit. Why? Because they have both tires toed to the right. I was going to do it myself but didnt have the time this week. I guess Ill keep doing it all myself...The correct way. This was done at Mavis Tire Ithaca NY. Google gives a 10-45 min wait yet a simple 10-20 min job took 2 hours 37 mins and was still wrong. Google also gives a 3.8 out of 5 star rating, I give it a 1 . Do it yourself or go somewhere else is my advise. Very unprofessional work for a very simple job.

Went to mavis to have winter tires taken off and summer tires put on as well as an oil change. In the process they told me I had a bad rotor and that the brakes were bad but the other rotor was fine. I asked what caused it and they said the calipers could be frozen or the slide wasnt working and knowing about mechanics I asked for them to be tested to ensure that this was the problem. They ended up being fine so again I asked what was wrong because it seemed to be a problem with the rotor in the first place and they claimed that possible something got in between the brake pads and the rotor which is essentially impossible. They were unwilling to help me much even though the brakes and rotors had come from them and life time guaranteed but wanted to charge an additional $70 above what I had paid the first time. I asked that if the pads were free that I get them to take home and was denied. I had them put the car back together as it was and will not be returning ever again in the future with any of my three vehicles. Jason was very unhelpful and unconcerned that I will not be returning.

Had been to Mavis Discount Tire for getting an inspection and other things and was directed by the gentleman in front to Cole Muffler also owned by same owner. The service advisor/lead technician named Israel was highly professional and listened to what all I needed to get done first, checked the car briefly despite his busy schedule and asked me check in with the receptionist at Cole Muffler. All the staff at the location are friendly and the professional service comes with a smile. : They didnt try to sell me extra services unlike others that I have experienced in the past. A few suggestions were given in a very non-pushy manner - thats what I liked as well. Within 5 minutes of my being seated, I saw my car being driven into the garage and the work was performed. I was there for max of 30 minutes and was charged a very reasonable amount. I highly recommend Cole Muffler and service advisor/lead technician Israel is an asset to this location. I will be back in future to the same location when I need Tires and Brake work done. Keep up the good work!!

The reason I am writing review here instead at the Mavis site is because I noticed at the very end of the review process they inform you that they reserve the right to not publish the review if you, essentially, have anything bad to say other than about the tires. How convenient. Actually, the tires I got are great; Yokohama ice-guard snow tires with great all-around traction, steering, low-noise, and at a very good price. What I didnt like was the pushing of secondary services. In particular, the alignment service. They graciously offered to check my alignment for free during the tire installation and (even though there is absolutely no shimmy or pulling one way or other in the wheel), apparently, my alignment was off big time. And, claiming it would take only 15 minutes and $79.99, they could fix it in a jiffy. Quick mental math puts this at around $320.00/hr for labor. Wow. Naturally, I declined. I suppose its possible it was actually off a bit...I think they sell good tires...just watch it.

Ive been here three times this winter. Mavis has been able to help me determine when its a quick minor fix (2/3 times) and when I actually needed to replace a tire (the last time). When I needed to replace one, I received sound advice on my options, and I felt no pressure to buy one tire over another. I later looked at reviews of the tire types online, and they aligned well with the advice that I was given in the moment. Pricing isnt cheap, but its also not expensive, and its similar to what youll find elsewhere. Theyve accommodated me quickly with and without an appointment, and Ive always been happy with the service. The waiting space is pretty standard, with wifi, television, magazines, and water. Theres also a small space with kid-sized tables and decorations.
