What an abysmal experience I had purchasing a vehicle from Maguire Ford in Ithaca. My sales associate was Ronin Shehu. I had emailed back and forth with Carrie about checking out a 2013 Honda CRV EX and set up a time to meet with Ronin at 10 AM on August 13, 2016. At the beginning of the meeting Ronin went over Maguires quality guarantee and informed me of all of the points that Maguire focuses on when it comes to customer satisfaction - Ive heard of this quality for a long time and drove an hour JUST for that quality. The first issue I had was the condition of the car for the test drive. It reeked of smoke (and has burn holes in both the seat and by the window as a result) and was coated with dog hair in the back seat. When I asked about this Ronin had said that another potential purchaser brought their dog along with during the test drive and thats where the hair came from - it was all over our clothes by the time the drive ended. While on the test drive the gas light came on, this wasnt a huge deal but I was surprised that the car was both dirty and had no gas in it. Ronin did not discuss car features with us at all but seemed more interested in commenting on whether another local car dealer was a drug dealer or not. I decided the car would be a good fit for me and continued with the sale. Ronin went through the purchasing options, I selected one and then he took the car out to be cleaned. When Ronin came back in I talked with him briefly about the Summer Jam event that was posted on the website, he informed me that because I was a PA state resident it probably wouldnt apply to me and I would have to go through a different lender to do this - thats fine but why wasnt this discussed prior to selecting a lender? The option was never even discussed. I then went through an hour and a half long fiasco about my insurance that ended with me leaving the car at the lot after I already signed the paperwork for it. My insurance agent sent the legal paperwork to Ronin that would be acceptable to show that I had insurance for a month but this was still not accepted. On Monday (August 15) I contacted my insurance agent again and had him reach out to Ronin, it wasnt until they explained to him that this was legally all that was required that he finally accepted it and allowed me to pick up the vehicle. When I arrived Ronin informed me that he fought for me and my insurance company just wouldnt listen - so whos lying here? This experience will keep me FAR away from Maguire for years to come. I sent the above information to the owners of Maguire and still have not received a response.

I bought a 2010 ford fusion awd in august 2015. About 4 months ago it started to kick and buck, i brought it in and they couldnt feel the problem. Then it really scared me to the point where I didnt feel comfortable driving it. I called them and they couldnt get me in for two weeks! They had my car for one day and said it was a wire they fixed that was a $300 bill. Probably a week later it started again I brought it in on my day of and after 3 hours they said to bring it in in two days because the problem is intermittent. I brought it in got a loaner car for a week. They said they had to work 2 hours to get into the engine and if the part is under warranty they will pay for it. So I took the chance and go figure not under warranty. That bill was $750. The next day is started doing it again! I had my dad check my transmission fluid and it was black he said is probably my transmission going bad I was like OK thats under warranty. They told me its not my transmission and that since I have no more money to keep fixing it I should probably trade it in. Well my dad went with me to talk to the manager it was a sales manger not the service manager, he said that the transmission isnt under warranty and wasnt under warranty when I bought the car. WHO WOULD BUY A $15,000 CAR WITHOUT ANY KIND OF WARRANTY?? The entire time they led me to believe I had a power train warranty and I didnt. Why would I pay $90 an hour for service when I can have my dad do the work. Cause I thought the part might be under warranty. I will never go here again. They led my to believe my car was under the powertrain warranty and no one corrected me when i bought it. Now Im stuck with a car that stalls everyday.

Our Ford was driven across country last summer, to get to Ithaca, so we took it to the dealership to get it checked out. They didnt do much, and what they did do what vague and unhelpful. We wanted to know the condition of belts, hoses, filters, tires, and asked for a status list of what needed to be fixed or replaced. They just said everything was "fine". We asked what services they offered there, and they said "everything". We took our truck there for body work and found out they DONT actually do bodywork there, they have an affiliate across town that we could go to, but had to make the appointment on our own - they wouldnt help us with that. We made an appointment to get the A/C refilled, and their machine broke on Friday, but they never called us before our Monday appointment to let us know it was down, so we had to scramble to get an appointment someplace else on short notice. Luckily a co-worker recommended AJ Foreign Auto, and we took our truck there instead. AJs did a complete, detailed inspection, and even told us the depth of our tire treads, and let us know the back windshield wiper was a little worn. I recommend AJs to anyone, and will NEVER go back to Maguire, for ANYTHING. The brakes we had done at McGuire for $900.00 in the fall are already squealing, less than a year later. Every dollar and every minute spent there was wasted.

Zero stars. Spoke online with a sales representative back and forth for a week and set up an test drive appointment stated I have cash down payment and would like same day purchase of everything went smoothly . Show up day of and the salesman stated someone came and purchased it the day before. I was referred to Austin, he wouldnt come out and speak to me, first, the sales man said the person paid in cash, then twenty minuets later he said they have one day to show up with the money and were able to leave with an unpaid car! Wasted a 1/2 hour trip to Ithaca for a car that wasnt there and for the salesman to talk in circles around what happened. Not impressed.

I took my car to get serviced here and have never had such a bad experience before. I sat in the waiting room for close to 5 hours without a single update on the status of my vehicle. I ended up having o pay close to 600$ for a routine service and all they actually changed was my spark plugs. They rave about their complimentary ice cream and drinks and give you a rose when you leave, but the only thing I care about when Im getting my car serviced is what the mechanics are doing. Im never going back here again.
