Terrible experience. The person in charge of PC dept agreed to do a price match for us on a MSI laptop that was priced at $1599 ( its only $1499 in B & H and Bestbuy) in Microcenter Flushing. However, upon check out, the person in charged of cashier dept imposed that she could only give us that price match (save $100) unless we purchased a one year protection plan that costs $199. Remember, the laptop already comes with 1 year warranty. We told that lady (in charge of cashier dept) that it wasnt the deal that we originally agreed upon. We told her that we then have to bring the business somewhere else. Obviously, she doesnt seem to care and doesnt value my business and foresee me as a good potential returning customer . 10 minutes after we left the store and went home, we came across to Micro Center website, then surprisingly found that Micro Center is doing a sale of $1449 on that MSI laptop online. How stupid is that? The store manager refused to do a price match for me and imposed me to spend additional $199 for one year protection plan. They wasted more than 30 minutes to verify the price of that computer in B & H multiple times in multiple departments, but they never check their own store website for the price. How funny is that. I think the store is dis-organized and there are communication problems between departments. Service person in PC department are great. They know how to value my business by agreeing on doing the price match. However, they are I guess afraid of that lady in charge of cashier dept (maybe she is the store manager) Its miserable to see a store ran by a person that doesnt know how to value business. Excuse me, I am trying to spend $1499+ tax on a laptop in your store (and its only $1449 on your website) and you dont want to take my business. Instead, I felt like she wanted to take advantage of me by imposing the $199 year protection plan for exchange for price match with B & H. An advise for that manager, before imposing additional condition on your customer, check the price of your own company website 1st.

Seriously where are these good reviews coming from? I dont like writing bad reviews so this really took a lot out of me to do this. My issue is with the computer repair. I brought my laptop to Microcenter first of all by accident. Why accident? Im new to the area and searched reviews on computer repairs since my computer hard drive died on me after a windows update (windows 8). I did most of the troubleshooting myself but didnt have the tools or equipment to pin down the problem, so giving up, I brought it in. Again, from the reviews I thought it was a standalone computer repair (the shop was mislabeled on the review after coming to the store and seeing microcenter.) Ive worked at best buy before so I know how these retail computer stores operate. Although I was reluctant to even bring it in, I did. I was charged 40.00+ each computer that I brought in for them just to "look" at it. The diagnosis fee, understandably, is non-refundable but at least include that fee into the price of whatever the diagnosis is instead of charging me AGAIN. Yes, they tell you this in the beginning but dang man work with me. On to the reason why Im writing this. I come to the store today after a week of waiting because i didnt get paid until.....today. I told the gentleman that looked at my computer that I wouldnt be coming until today. (Im not naming names because im not putting jobs on the line) When i come in and talk to another gentleman to pick up my computer, most of what im hearing is more charges, i cant help you and yeah youll have to come back. Its the guys problem but i drove a pretty far ways away to drop off the computers and come retrieve them; on top of that just coming from work to pick them up and only walking out with one computer where Ive had no solution thus far. Ill be back to retrieve my laptop. So, no i will not recommend this service to anyone or this store. If you have questions, ill be sure to answer.

Written by Keith D. Vaughan Flushing branch It is a great store I come here monthly and plan to get a pc today I had eye on. The employee and security guards are friendly and actually hold up conversations for a little basically can make small talk (big points in my book) they have a Gaming Section u can buy ram gpu cpu pc cases, monitors, laptop batteries etc. or if u want even have them build you a pc. (Most of time end up better than the actual product) the base charge is $120 + what ur using to build it from the stores inventory. While I havent done this myself, plenty I know have. this store while it is the only one near me and across the street it is by far the best computers and electronic + gaming store that focuses on all 3 in my opinion. I enjoy going here and will continue for the rest of time in this neighborhood or area If I dont leave queens (no time soon and/or not in forsee able future) the employee tecnician answer your question about your item that u bought there (cause I have only asked questions about what I bought here) and the employees ( not even tecnicians) can answer your question if they have the knowledge needed to answer your question. Customer service and return sections are kind and help you. All while following store rules and guidelines. The pick up section is also good you request online out down for pick up at store (after youve selected location) and wait for conformation and them 18 minutes I wait 25 just to be sure. And if the item was there ( not there happens extremely rarely so dont worry bout that. Is NORMALLY A Site error in data keeping) You get it just make sure you pay for at the store (online pickup transaction is done at location selected) in short a great store.

Ive been shopping at Microcenter locally about 12+ years, used to go to Westbury, NY location until Flushing, NY store opened but just realized that Flushing store is not like Westbury location, no class, bad customer service specially by Management, Tom Eckert. I was in the store and made some purchase including a CPU for a friend, for the first time in my life, have been accused by the Manager Tom Eckert for buying/selling ??? parts from Microcenter. Wrong accusation without any proof, He even recorded my name in his paperwork and told me that hell tag my name so I cant make a CPU purchase from his store again ? What kind of crap is that ? My last CPU + other parts purchase to build a new computer for my son was about 9 months ago and spent almost ( $1000 ) prior to that day and I decide what to buy and where I spend my money. Firstable he was very rude (Very bad customer service BY THE MANAGEMENT) without knowingly, second he collected my information from his computer (against PRIVACY rules to collect customer information for personal use-will address that with BBB). I called customer service and filed a complaint but not addressed at all, Linda didnt take it so serious. I guess they dont need my business while companies going out of business very often. I would suggest not to shop at Microcenter Flushing store until new Management in place and/or make sure your personal info not collected by Manager Tom Eckert, who knows what he does with it. According to Local news, they are not doing well in this store, I wonder why....
