Dunkirk Tops and a Wal-Mart Super store are really the only two full sized grocery stores in our area. Yes, we have a few others but they are more or less a bread, milk and eggs grocery. This store, Dunkirk NY, has a problem stocking their meat department and keeping whole chickens under 5 pounds on the shelves for home rotisserie. It always amazes me how I can buy a fully cooked, whole rotisserie chicken for $6 yet I have to pay $10 for a raw whole chicken? Odd things, which I love to cook with like chicken livers are seldom in stock and the gizzards are always covered in bile! The organic chicken is always lacking and or close to expiration date; probably because of the limited market in our area. The skinless chicken breast in the family pack ALWAYS poorly trimmed. Before I individually freeze them or cut into chunks for canning, I ALWAYS have to trim off the scrap flap which measures 1 pound plus! I never have to trim scraps when I buy chicken at that Wagmans: maybe its an easy way for Tops to mark UP a sale via hidden "junk" meat left untrimmed? Of course I have to drive almost 45 minutes to shop at Wagmans but for chicken product, its worth the 45 minute drive to get fresh, tasty chicken when I want it and without extra scrap weight adding to my cost. The store is bright and clean and their deli is always fresh and stocked well. If you need an avocado (usually not quiet ripe), this store is the only store in a 45 minute drive where you can get it. I shop Wal-Mart for most of my groceries, Tops for odd things like organic chicken and livers, and then drive, if needed, to Wagmans for really great produce, gourmet items like coriander, and fun, fancy bake good treats.

First of all, let me say that I shop here weekly and spend quite a bit of money each week. Everything is very nice, from service to cleanliness. The butcher who works the counter every time Im shopping is personally my favorite employee because he is very approachable and will do pretty much anything for you. Although, there are also certain people who rub myself and many people the wrong way and make me second guess my $200+ Weekly purchases, including a certain lady that looks impeccably like Dolores Umbridge from the Harry Potter movies. Steer clear of her, as she is one of the most abrasive women Ive ever met in my life.

Tops needs to learn how to please its customers. This morning one register was open and the self checkout was closed. Two produce weigh stations were not available because staff was using the scale to hold coffee and place items needed to do work with. Another had no ink to print the weight and cost. Some produce just looked bad.This is not the first time these things have happened.

This stores cleanliness is often poor and some of the staff should be sent to serious customer service training. I almost voiced a complaint to the manager during my last visit bc one particular employee is always rude and unpleasant. It makes me never want to come back here.

I went to Tops to get a birthday cake for my fiancé. I showed the young lady of the cake I wanted and she did just that! The cake was awesome! Thank you Juliana for a great cake! Our lil intimate party was a success because of you!

I regularly shop at tops. Love the store. But you have to watch their prices. For instance their pepsi six pack is $6.99, same thing at walmart is $2.50. Even at their buy two get three free it isnt a good deal.

This Tops actually surprised me. In a small town area, I wasnt really expecting much when I needed to run in and grab a few things. But, the store was laid out well, easy to find items, and had good prices.

Nice and convenient smaller Tops location. I work near this one and live near a larger Tops - I actually prefer this location (Vineyard Drive) because I can be in and out in record time!
