I recently visited Montes for the first time and was quite impressed. For starters the front of the store is very clean and neat and decorated with beautiful flowers. Inside the store I was greeted by a very friendly young man, who is the nephew of the owner, and the daughter of the owner. The products in the store were neatly displayed on the shelves and everything was so clean and tastefully decorated with Puerto Rican themes. I love everything about this place. It made me feel like if I was in Puerto Rico. After a while I finally met Esther, the owner, who was such a pleasure to speak with. I felt like I knew her for a long time. Lastly but definitely not the least, the food was so delicious and their portions were hearty. I have to agree that the pastelillos were the best Ive had in Buffalo. The rice had fresh gandules and was so good. They even had pizza pastelillos. I plan to hire them to cater my moms 80th birthday party in august. Great job Esther and family. I will definitely be back!!!

My father and I personally know Ester, the store owner. Ive been coming here my whole life and my fathers been coming here since he moved to Buffalo from Puerto Rico. Ester and all of the staff are amazing and nice. The food. The food is amazing. The best Puerto Rican food ever, literally. Kylynn and Victor (my father and I) love Montes

The beef and cheese pastelillos are the BEST Ive eaten anywhere! My parents live 2 hours away, and when I go visit, I buy 4 beef & cheese and 2 chicken pastelillos to bring them. Mom eats 1 b&c right away, and puts the others in the freezer. When they want to eat one, Mom puts them in the toaster oven to reheat..DE-licious!!!

Montes has the very best Puerto Rican food in the city for a quick bite! Patelitos and dinners are always fresh and delicious! This is just a convienince store with a small selection of prepared food but you wont be dissapointed! The lady that runs the store is super friendly and nice. The store is also immaculate!

I eat here a few times a month and Im always satisfied after. I dont think Ive had a bad experience here over the past few years. Lunch service starts at around 12 if you want rice. I try to go on Thursdays because they have steak as a dinner options.

I have never been here and there hasnt been a line for the pastelillos. They are that good. The chicken on a stick isnt too bad either.
