If it was possible to give zero star I would give it for sure. The mechanic guys are fast and doing their job really well but the guy who works there (not the asian but Italian looking one) is a liar also so rude. The prices he was given was different and more expensive than asian guy. He told me it would take time to adjust my breaks and would cost 15 total I somehow came back in 5 mins it was done instead of 30 mins and they charged me 15 for each break. He also told me that there were 3 different kind of tires I could pick I picked the middle one which I paid 35 each was (same size, same model number, same brand) just 6 USD on amazon. I wanted to watch what they were doing to my bike and he told me I can not watch them since it is a company procedure. I said I am not in the working area I will watch my bike and your service right here without bothering anybody. He couldnt say anything but probably mumbling some F words (I didnt here that tho I am just guessing because of his face) I dont know about you but I am done with them. If you want to spend tones of extra money and being lied to your face you should go to them. I usually do not write a review and I waited 3 weeks to write it to see if I would feel same way to be fair. Ohh yeah I am still so mad. I live in Bay Ridge I dont know about any other bike shop so I am not going to suggest another one but for sure I hate this shop (specifically the Italian one with short hair). They dont deserve my money and my time. I hope there will be someone who would read it in there and do something about this liar.

The combination of great service and wide selection of bikes, clothing, and components make Verrazano Bikes a comprehensive resource. Tom has excellent mechanical skills, and is extremely knowledgeable about equipment. On a friend’s recommendation, I visited Tom and he built up a great race rig for me on a budget. He special ordered parts to suit my preferences, and made great recommendations on wheels and fitting. Tom really emphasizes value and durability – I’ve had some great results this year on the new bike, and Tom and his team have provided great follow up support tuning and repairing the bike after crashes. In addition to great service, Verrazano Bikes has a wide selection of bikes from several manufacturers – mostly Trek and Diamondback but also some smaller custom builders. The range of options is wide - serving the needs of kids, commuters, tourers, and racers, both budget and professional level options. Finally, Tom stocks LOTS of spare parts. Wheels, saddles, shifters, drivetrain components, everything. Most shops you go in needing a replacement part and the response is “oh we can order it for you...” Not here. Most often, Tom can get you back on the road immediately.

Avoid this place! Danger! Do not go to this place for any services. They tried to make me pay for the service not even provided. My breaks were making funny noise, and even though Im capable of checking them up myself, Ive decided to go to the bicycle shop to get professional advice. Not only I was told that theres nothing wrong with the bikes breaks and nothing has to be fixed, but Ive got offered to oil the breaks! When I was about to leave the owner stated that they want me to pay $15 for the labor. I was trying to avoid the conflict explaining that the repair was not done, it was only a check up (btw I gave $5 tips to the guy who checked the bike breaks). They shot the door and would not let me leave. In a meanwhile the guy who checked the breaks came over and punched the tire (following the owners order!). Long story short-these people are highly unprofessional, and may even get violent. I feel lucky that I did not get stubbed in the back. I would never ever go to this place, and I want to warn all others.

after reading all the negative reviews, i felt compelled to chime in because ive only had positive experiences here. a few months ago on a whim i walked in and bought a bike at this shop. i told them what i was looking for and how much i was willing to spend. sure id like something fancier but they were able to give me a few good choices that matched all my requirements. the guy even tried to direct me towards the slightly cheaper bike. ive been happy with the bike and appreciate the help and advice they gave me. they were very patient while i tried out the bikes in front of the store. they are very knowledgeable, even explaining the differences between water bottles (which ones have a funny taste). i just went back yesterday and they tuned up the bike while i waited. once again they were nice including the tech who did the work and the owner behind the counter. i dont know why other people had such bad experiences but i couldnt see anything wrong with the place or the owners.

I just went there this weekend to check out the shop. I bought my Trek fx 7.2 at habitat in July and wanted to see what this shop was all about. Tomas greeted me right away and engaged me and my wife about riding in Brooklyn. He gave me a map and suggested I ride to rockaway beach. The next day I came in with my bike and told him my wrists get numb while riding. He immediately had never hop on my bike and told me I needed to lower my handlebars and raise my seat. He also pointed out that the way I was holding the grips I was cutting off circulation and thats why my wrists were hurting. No charge! Btw.upgrading the grips will cost me $40 no charge for labor. Same as habitat. So far verazzano has not given me a reason not to shop there.

I walked into this store, a beginner in the bike riding hobby, and from my FIRST question, I realized this place is run by nasty people. I asked him if he had a bike priced around $300 or so, and he laughed in my face this schmuck. I looked at him and told him "thanks, Ill be on my way." Ill never go to this place again... on the other hand, the guys over at Bay Ridge Bicycle World were very friendly. They answered my questions very politely, and didnt make me feel like crap about being a beginner. Unless you know exactly what you need, and youd be able to get in, make the purchase and leave, DO NOT GO TO VERRAZANO BIKES! Theyre very unhelpful.

I have been going to them for over 20 years and they are always knowledgeable and understanding of my concerns. Thomas has sold me my last two racing bikes and always made sure he sold me the bike I needed. I got my first racing bike from him when I was 13 and I used that bike for thousands on thousands of miles with Verrazano being the o my people to ever service it. To this day the bike is still in great running condition thanks to all the tlc from them over the years. I hope to get as many happy memories from the trek I purchased last spring from them. Prices are fair, service is unbeatable and they truly love the cycling life style.
