My first Thai food meal in like 2 years. See, I used to live in San Francisco, but due to circumstances I had to relocate to South Florida. Which is basically the 6th Borough of New York. So on my latest visit back to New York, I was telling my buddy how I hadnt had Thai Food in so long. He tells me theres this place that sorta resembles an ice cream parlor, but they make great food as well. I used to eat Thai food or Dim Sum like everyday livin out in Frisco. But, down in sunny south FLA, they dont have these types of places. Or at least, I cant find one. Anyways, let me lay the ground rules on when I try a new restaurant or place to eat. I go w/ the basics. Italian Restaurant--Chicken Parm Pizza Joint--Plain Slice of Cheese Pizza Get my drift? Plus, I always ask the staff, whats best. So of course I ordered up their No-Carb Pad Thai. Actually, the guy who took my order, I think he was the owner recommended it to me, and than I told him how I just love Peanut Sauce. He brought me out an order of the chicken and an order of the shrimp satay in Peanut Sauce. FREAKIN AWESOME!!! I cant even express the deserts. Names of ice cream flavors that Ive never heard of. I went all out. I ordered a $10.50 desert. They call it, The Snow Storm. FIVE SCOOPS of Ice Cream (remember now, I had the No-carb entree) w/ chocolate chips, whip cream, choc and strawberry sauce on top of: Banana Mix Nut Ice Cream, Chocolate Brownie Ice Cream & Vanilla Bean, I asked him to just make 5 scoops of those flavors. It was insanely good. So good that I actually bought a pint of ice cream to take back to my boys apartment. I was up there for a week, I went there two more times. Great food, great service...Ill Be Back in the Spring

Wow!! Had a tremendous experience last weekend at SkyIce. Recommended by a few friends who live in the neighborhood, their words did not do justice to what I experienced. Known to offer traditional authentic Northern Thai comfort food I started off with the kanom jeeb (thai shumai dumplings with both chicken and shrimp), papaya salad, and the northern thai curry noodle with grilled salmon. From what I understand it is referred to as Khao Soi locally in Thailand. Everything I had was fantastic, fresh, and left me wanting more. The flavors were so rich and explosive. For dessert, I only had room for two scoops of ice cream as portion size is quite generous, Thai Tea and Black Sesame Seaweed. They offer so many unique and creative flavors. The staff was very sweet and helpful and let me try four others. Had Durian Ice cream for the first time...that was intense. Caramel Sea Salt was off the hook as was the Honey Ginger. Last but certainly not least I tasted the cucumber lime sorbet and raspberry cilantro. Both amazing refreshing flavors. This place is a find! Casual affordable dining that offers amazing food & dessert. Will definitely be back and will not hesitate to recommend to all. Nice job SkyIce, nice job :) Oh yeah, after I left I did a little on-line research and discovered that the Village Voice named SkyIce as one of the top ten best ice cream joints in NYC. Congratulations! Well deserved.

Id never thought I give an ice cream place 4 stars but this one deserves it. Came here with a group of 3 and all of ice ordered ice creams. We ordered the black sesame with seaweed, mango, and durian. I was really impressed with the black sesame. It is arguably much better than the one in the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory. Its more flavorful here and the ice cream is much more fluffy. They do use a lot more dairy in their products though. The seaweed caught me off guard and I thought the mix was okay but the black sesame itself was amazing. I think if they take out the seaweed, it would be an even more stellar product. Most people will never get the durian ice cream but I have to say that it is leagues better than the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory. The durian flavor was extremely tasty and it almost tasted like you were eating real durian. It also gave you a sense of the fibers from the actual fruit. The texture was amazing. I wouldnt change a single thing about this flavor. The mango was good but definitely not the star of the show. I would definitely come here again for the black sesame and durian. This place is now my favorite place to get these 2 flavors. Only drawback is that parking SUCKS in this area. Take the subway. Youll save yourself a lot of headache.

Came for the ice cream but learned they have food options as well. Had the mom special fried rice (medium spicy) and northern thai curry noodles. Both were good but the curry noodles was absolutely delicious. Plenty of curry soup that the egg noodles absorbing some was not a problem. Super thick with lots of flavor and depth to it. Highly recommend. The dessert options all sounded wonderful. Will definetly come back to try more of the menu. Seems authentic home cook thai food. Had the 5 scoop sampler. Lychee rose sherbert (too mild for me), toasted coconut (yumm), honey ginger (surprisingly delicious and not too spicy), miso almond (interesting combo flavor -very good), black sesame seaweed( good and nutty, solid choice but doesnt stand out as unique)

Whenever I travel to Brooklyn on business, I always swing by Skyice in beautiful Park Slope. I am a sorbet and ice cream buff. Growing up, my mother, Valerie, created fantastic home made flavors. She had trained as a perfumer in Europe developing essences.. Skyice is better! The sorbets and ice creams are the most novel and inventive I have ever experienced. The artistic contrasts are amazing. They tease, tantalize and seduce! The Northern Thai food is the best i have had in New York. Ive have traveled the world, and frankly, Skyices savory flavors compare with the best in Bangkok. We live in the greatest "foodie" city in the world. Skyice is a glorious example of culinary innovation and commitment.

This casual eatery in Park Slope neighborhood boast Northern Thai cuisine and interesting ice cream flavor combinations all under one roof. The menu is a mix of hipsterized Thai food. The Pad Thai was a bit on the sweet side as most non-Asian would like. The Tom Yum noodle I got looked promising but lacked any of the strong flavors typically associated it it. The Durian ice cream on the other hand was quite good. I’d say my favorite part of the meal. The food is served on plastic bowls, cups and utensils is a bit downscale and not quite eco friendly for those environmentalist Slopers. Interior is small and simple with written menu on the chalk board above.

If you love thai food and like your food to be organic then this is your place. I have been going to this place for sometime now and i think its one of the best thai places i have had eaten hands down. Every dish that i have tried has been exceptional. and thats not even including their ice cream which tastes amazing. You just have to go and try everything on their menu. The owners are extremely nice and i have had friends cater for large gathering from them. They are amazingly generous with the food and even come to the event to make sure everything goes smoothly. Overall, this place is highly recommended for their Sweet and Savory stuff.
