Unfortunately this is the only Staples store left in the Bronx. With the exception of the staff in the shipping and mailing area, the staff is horrific starting from the manager. The customer service checkout is incorporated with the regular check out area. I had to return an item and was told I needed to wait in the regular check out line which was approximately 20 people long mid day on a Saturday. This store is heavily used as there are not many stationary stores and there are a lot of schools in the area. The check out area usually has one cashier two at the most regardless if the check out line is coming out the store. The copy and computer area is even worse. Most of the time there is only one printer working for four computer terminals. The computers as well are usually out of service and there are always two to three people waiting to use the computer. The staff is generally unfriendly and unavailable to answer questions. And if they do help you, and it appears that you are asking too many questions they tell you to go online and purchase the items you are inquiring about. After my last three experiences at this Staples store and the one in Harlem which is even worse than this one, it is no longer surprising to me that Staples is going out of business throughout the city. Unfortunately despite not liking this store there will be times where I will have no choice to continue to utilize their services. I do hope that they read the numerous low ratings that they receive for this store and their services, and that they being to make vast improvements in this store.

I was talking to the Store Manager at 5680 Broadway telling her she needed to be more courteous. She was talking to another employee but he was in street clothes. As I was talking to her about being courteous and that she shouldnt be treating her customers the way she was treating me, she walked away. I asked the (guy) employee was that courteous of her to walk away from me? He said "Yes, because I told her I got this!" At first he said he was not a manager and then he said he was a second manager in the store. This guy even admitted that the employees that wear red shirts and earn $8.75 an hour must always consult with a manager on things and are incapable of making decisions. He also said that Staples doesnt have a budget to hire more employees to man the shipping center. Then he said you have been arguing with me for 5 minutes you could have been in and out. After all was said and done, he called another employee over wearing a black staples shirt and told that employee to ring me up. I put my items in a USPS Flat Rate Envelope Priority Mail which should ship at $5.75. The employee asked me if I wanted to ship it USPS or UPS. I told him it is in a USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope for $5.75. He told me it shows at $6. At that point, I wanted to just get out of there so I just paid an extra quarter and got out. Some people are just stupid. Needless to say that this will probably be the last time I go to that store. I am hoping I can report them to someone else like consumer affairs.

ve been going to Staples at this location for years and I have to tell you, I miss the copy center staff from about 3 to 4 years ago. We even knew their names, Dessirree, and Monique and a few more. The women or girls in the copy department currently are not at all helpful and its been this way for some time. I went there this morning thinking I would be able to run a small job, maybe 1 original 60 copies, there were no other customers there, just two workers chatting, this was around 12:20 pm Sunday. I initially resisted going to them because in the past, whether or not they were busy, they just automatically pointed you to the self service machines. I tried to use the copy machines to download but it wasnt being read after three attempts. So I approach the two workers who are still sitting and talking to each other to ask for assistance, their response was to go use the computer over there". I didnt understand why they were not willing to get up and help a customer. This is not the first time, it is unprofessional and should be addressed.

I am a teacher at a nearby school and I stopped by to get supplies after school and some treats for my young scholars and I asked if I could use the restroom. The manager Rosaline told me that I could not use it as it was for employees only. I asked if she could watch my items so I could go across the street and use the bathroom at IHOP. I went to IHOP and made a purchase so I could use the restroom. I returned fifteen minutes later to discover the manager Rosaline who is Hispanic allowing a Hispanic woman to use the restroom even though she just told me it was for employees only. I will be contacting corporate to complain. White and Black customers should also be able to use the restroom.

The store itself is fine, big and clean enough. Tons of parking out front. If you just need to buy stuff, no problems. If you need counter help, like printing or whatnot, be prepared to wait a long time. And have to explain stuff over and over. Self printing with a card can be hit or miss because usually 1-2 machines are out of order and there are a lot of people waiting for machines sometimes. I was supposed to get a rebate on something and I dont know if they botched it somehow because I never received it. Who knows. Unfortunately if your printer is broken, this is the only place that I know of that you can print (maybe the library but their hours are a lot more limited).

This is my go-to store for personal office needs. Ive only had good service from them and I am happy to say that my computer, mobile devices and ancillary electronic products have come from their store. The staff is pleasant...I think that the company is asking them to do too many things; shipping, stamps, copies, printing, mobile phone sales and service , computers, furniture, etc. They arent paying well enough for there to be plentiful staffing. Therefore, youll find a shortage of people to help you. But when they do...they know what they are talking about and have a good attitude in the face of rudeness.

I have gone in during the day and found the staff to be friendly. They havent always been able to answer everything Ive asked, but would make an attempt or look it up. I have gotten used to the fact that unfortunately staff at big box stores are basically treated and paid like stockroom people or cashiers, so I dont expect any expertise. I treat like a pleasant surprise when I do get someone knowledgeable. Stuff is usually in the right place and in stock, although avoid the store at all costs during the back to school rush if possible. Ive seen at least two fights break out (customers, not staff).
