Today I decided to take a trip to the Hobby Lobby in Totowa, NJ, to gather some supplies for a project Im working on. While I was shopping , I saw that the photo boxes I wanted were 50% off! Ecstatic, I grabbed five of them and headed to checkout. When the cashier got to the photo boxes, I stopped her from entering the sticker price and told her that I had seen them behind a "50% off" sign. She stopped entering the prices, and leafed through the store circular to find the discount. By this time, the manager on duty had approached and asked what was happening, so the cashier told her about the sale. Instead of calling over radio to confirm what Id seen, or honoring the discount in good faith, the manager instead proceeded to argue with me about how these particular boxes were not on sale, and I must have been mistaken. I told her I had seen them behind a sale sign, and was nastily informed that I "must have read it wrong", and that it "must apply to other items, but not this one." She continued to nastily tell me, multiple times, that I was wrong and she was right. Because I was on my lunch break and couldnt waste more time arguing with the hostile manager, I asked the cashier to remove the controversial items. Once I left, I did a quick check on the Hobby Lobby website to discover that the boxes WERE, in fact, 50% off. I cant speak for how Hobby Lobby trains their employees, but the managers complete condescension and argumentative demeanor were completely uncalled for; especially since not only was she wrong, but she never even bothered to humor me and see if maybe I was right (which I was). Quick tip on people skills and customer service training: berating your customers and point-blank telling them theyre wrong are the fast track to losing customers. Ill be finishing up this and all future projects at their competitor stores, where Im used to interacting with friendly and helpful staff members.

If I could give them -5 stars I would. From the moment my friend and I were at the registry, the cashier says: This items are not on sale. First of all, did we ask for the price? did we ask for a discount? did we tell you that we had seen this items on sale? Do we look like we need money? NO so dont address me as if I am a cheap person begging for money when I am in fact buying flowers for my wedding. I pay with a 40% discount they had at the store. Then my friend proceeds to pay and because we were together the cashier says you can only use one coupon per day, and calls the manager even without us making a show about it, all I said was: I was here last week and made 2 transactions and use the coupon twice with the same cashier. and last week the cashier who helped me was the one who suggested looking into their website for a coupon, and he did allow me to do two transactions. I told her, is not like if the cashier knows that is the same person buying. Then tells the manager, they already bought something and her and her boyfriend use the coupon once already. The manager is a very disrespectful lady as well that just says I am not aware of the problem, what is the problem, Oh I wasnt informed I apologize. No you do not feel sorry at all or apologize if you are not willing to go above and beyond for your customers. Not going back to this hobby lobby, Lorna was very disrespectful and her staff as well.

Worst experience I have ever had in a store. I was on line for 20 minutes because the cashier decided to let the people in front of me ring up separately seven or eight different totals so they can take advantage of the 40% off one item. When I complained to the cashier he walked off the register refusing to help me. I explained to him I was on lunch and it wasnt fair to make customers wait when it is the companys policy only one coupon per person. Then on top of it all, the item is priced at 49.99 and I was charged 59.99. Watch what they charge you and be prepared to be treated very rudely from their employees. I for one will never go there again (outside of going to get my money back). I much rather go to A.C. Moore or Joannes in Paramus. Also they are over priced

Great store, everything always on some some type of 30-50% off sale. If you love arts and crafts its a must stop! My Gf loves to go therr for painting and i like looking at the cool posters and model paints. Just not a fan of all the jesus novel and crosses plastered EVERYWHERE! Also they arent opened on sundays but thats a good thing i guess? So 5 stars for crafts but lf you love crafts and need your jesus novel fan fic they have you covered!

The customer service varies . One day I went in to purchase flowers for an arrangement. And the sales clerk told me to wait until the following week that it would be on sale at 50% off. On another occasion the clerk that day was most reluctant to assist me locating gold markers. However they have a very good selection of novelty materials for weekend craft projects and DIY . They just added fabrics to there inventory.

As the name implies...this is a hobby store. This location is huge and has just about everything. Any hobby you are in to, they have something for you. There are a lot of home design elements as well. Prices are reasonable and there were sales throughout the store. Very clean and organized. It was busy on a weekday afternoon but there were plenty of registers open so the wait to checkout was only about 5 -10 min

Hobby Lobby had a bunch of things I needed, but I asked the employee were to get foam rolls, and he turned around and told me were to go, without even leading me there. I was like "umm thanks?" Eventually I got in line for the register, and the cashier charged me 19.00$ instead of 17.00$. But I did find what I needed, so I gave this one an "Okay."

I love everything about it I wish I can live there lol Im a bit time crafter and i love that every week there is a 50% off sale. Way cheaper than Joannes. Wish they had more selections of material.

No matter the controversy of the owners being religious it is good that they close for Thanksgiving and holidays as well as on Sundays. Employees work hard and that store is highly organized, stocked to the max . There is everything from crafts to season decor.. rows and shelves full Friendly staff you always find something

I will never set foot in a hobby lobby store, given their hateful attitude toward their female employees. The owners have every right to their own religious beliefs, but to decide morality for all of their workers is just deplorable. They dont need my dollars supporting their lack of respect for others.

Have as much variety as other craft big boxes. Unfortunately they never seem to have enough cashiers when they need them the most which can get annoying, either that or the lack of a centralized customer line. Either way they are very inefficient, and the cashiers always look unhappy.
