Im rating 5 stars. This isnt buying a chicken dinner. Furniture can be a major and expensive purchase for your home. Ive purchased furniture on 3 occasions within the last 3 years. Ive ordered an Ashley kitchen table about three years back. This past March (2016), an Ashley dresser w/mirror and a box spring. All were delivered on time as promised and in excellent condition. I made a return visit yesterday (10/2016) and bought a sofa, San Miguel Hemp. Also Ashleys accent chair, end table and cocktail table and threw in a lamp. My salesman Mike C. was so very nice. I like the sales people there because they dont "hawk" you. At least in my experience. He (Mike) stayed in the vicinity and when I had a question was available, had knowledge and was able to answer them. I like that. He was very patient as I was so confused with what I wanted. They have good brand named furniture, very nice quality, reasonably priced. They have good sales, so keep an out out. They have "scratch off" sales which I received 30% off. Over $1,500 was free delivery. Normally $75. I would recommend Value City for price and quality. They have have a range in pricing. Higher end furniture is more expensive. Side note: I see a review by a reviewer who is obviously ignorant to financing and reading at what they are signing. They should have paid cash if they were that deeply concerned about their credit report and how it is being reported. Albeit they thought they were receiving a loan amount (like a car) which would appear on their credit report as an "Installment" account. Either way (loan/credit), it is debt owed and will affect your FICO score and part of your credit history. As most financially intelligent people are aware, before you sign anything, LOOK AT WHAT YOU ARE SIGNING! READ THROUGH THE AGREEMENT! It is clearly a revolving line of credit and the application they ask you to fill out it clearly says credit card agreement. They have "in house" financing. There is no Value City credit card. They do take major credit cards. The financing available is through Wells Fargo. They run a credit check which will be a "hard" pull and affect your FICO score to a degree. This is my first time financing through them. I was clearly told this by the salesman and the agreement form I signed. I financed interest free for 2 years with paying the tax upfront. Interest free is a good deal if you pay it off accordingly. As of the day I made my purchase, depending on the financing plan you choose with Value City, can be interest free from 2-4 years. 2 years if you pay the tax upfront and 4 years if you put down 20%. Before you borrow money, be wise. No one is forcing you. Be a responsible borrower.

they talked us into buying the warranty under the false lies of everything it covered!! They used exactly the same phrase about every single thing being covered except if a pet chews it or digs at it!! What a bunch of crooks!!!I spent almost 600 dollars on a chair and ottoman at VALUE CITY FURNITURE on RT 37, Toms River, NJ, and was also talked into buying a 5 year protection plan. The salesperson told us that everything was covered. Their words were, its great, if you spill nail polish or food on it or if your pet goes to the bathroom on it whatever it is its covered, if the cushions wear out or crush down their covered, the only thing not covered is if your pet chews it. So we purchased what was called a 5 year protection plan. We have had the chair for less than two years when this process started. we purchased it on 2-4-12 and it was delivered on 3-17-12. The chair was getting pretty dirty looking and the cushions were wearing out and crushed down horribly. I called the warranty department in the middle of January of 2014. They told me immediately that the stuff i was describing was not covered. I said thats not what the salesperson said. So they sent a technician out on 1-24 to look at the chair. he took 4 0r 5 pictures with his cell phone and said we should be hearing from someone in the beginning of next week. Well today 2-11-14, I had still not heard from them so i finally call them and when i told them that i had not heard from them yet they lied and said that someone had called here when they did not and they told us that nothing that was wrong with the chair would be covered and that was that. They told me that i should have called at the very first dirt spot and that i should have called within the first year for the cushion. So why is it a 5 year protection plan!? I called value city and spoke to them several times and the ending result is that they will not do anything about the chair. I could understand that if I did not buy the warranty, but I did buy the warranty because of what they said it covered and they lied. Nothing that they told me was true!! What exactly did I purchase this warranty for if it did not cover anything that the salesperson told me it covered!!!! This was not cheap furniture! And i took the salesperson at their word! This is a bad business practice and someone should put a stop to this. Its not right to lie to a customer to get them to purchase something and then everything the customer was told turns into a lie!!

While I was visiting my mom, I wanted to shop for a new sofa and what I call my "man chair". As soon as we arrived in the parking lot, it started to rain heavily. As soon as we made it inside the store, we were greeted by friendly Kelly Diabelko. With no sales pressure at all, Kelly asked what we were looking for and after listening to what I wanted, immediately began showing us the furniture. What I liked initially about Kelly was she actually listened to what I was looking for. A competitor furniture company who shall remain nameless just tried to show me what was on sale and to offer the best price which was useless to me. We walked out. Kelly showed us a number of sofas and let us take our time on each one. The sofa we wanted was not in stock, but Kelly was very knowledgeable and up front on what the cost and time of delivery would be from the factory, so we bought it. I also bought my "man chair" as well. Lastly, I thought about an entertainment center but couldnt find one that was bigger than 60". Kelly even loaned me her tape measure to measure the entertainment center, wow, she was prepared. If you want friendly, no pressure, knowledgeable furniture shopping, come to Value City in Toms River and ask for Kelly.

i thought I was getting the best deal but only LIES!!!! They said it wasnt a credit card! They said just approval just for credit. I was approved and then I saw in my credit report a credit card line was open under their name!! Their such liars. now I have another inquiry as a credit card under my name when I want to minimum any credit cards!! Never come here and if you do dont believe them. They said theyre furniture is better than target but when I was doing my research Target sells the same exact brand and model of my purchase!! Yes target was more money but they lied, they still sold it. I hate lairs. The first thing I asked them was I dont want any credit lines I will rather pay cash. And they said no worries its just a check and if your score is high enough you get approved and thats it. Well look at that, Wells Fargo credit card under my name. Never come here again!!!! Im paying it off and will forever advise friends and family to stay away from this lying company!!!!!
