These people should be embarrassed to open their doors in the morning. I tried to return a one week old pair of shoes that the stitching had come out of and customer service absolutely refused to give my money back. The reason? "They have been worn sir". I explained that "of course they have been worn, here is the receipt, you can see that they are only a week old". I insisted on seeing a manager. In due course two managers arrive, each was looking at the other because neither knew what to do. I was still refused a refund. Keep in mind, Walmart would have returned my money with a smile on their face. We eventually agreed that I would exchange the defective shoes for a new pair provided that I joined the Kmart shopping club. So there I was filling out forms just to get another pair of shoes. I felt very manhandled at this juncture and left this store very unhappy. Within a month the second pair of shoes fell apart and I had thrown them away. This was a horrible shopping experience and I will never again go to the toms River Kmart with its rude customer service personnel and its cowering managers. Sad to say, the sooner that place closes, the happier I will be.

Not the first time this store has failed at treating me with respect and being professional. I tried after having a very disturbing contact with one of the workers to give them my business once again. This was a complete fail once again and I will never go back to this particular store. I was a frequent shopper at the Kmart in Queensbury, NY. Great place! What a difference in management. This store in Toms River, NJ should take some lessons or be one of the next Kmarts to disappear from the chain store list in Toms River.

Kmart has a surprisingly wide selection of items like youd find in any large retail store but in my opinion is better than more popular and expensive stores like Target. Despite popular belief, you will generally find higher quality home goods, furniture, tools and garden supplies than you would at other retailers like Target or Walmart and often even for less. Also, they routinely give large discounts and cash back to frequent shoppers via coupon receipts. (I.e. $10 off a next $25 purchase).

I love shopping here its improved so much over the years the only thing I wish is that they had weekend hours for their Pharmacy that used to and then they just took them away so now theyre only there Monday to Friday and that stinks but other than that everything else is great they have a good selection in gardening department the clothes are up-to-date and in style sizes they have variety of and the people that work there their attitudes have improved greatly!!

horrible absolutely horrible i signed up for a lease program there employees told me at signing it was a 8 month program to find out its 18 month lease program i got i am just very disappointed with Kmart of toms river they never informed me what the program is really about they told me to call the number on the back and truthfully it is my fault for even doing it! But they need to seriously train there own employees also hire more people!!!

Decent prices but without Halloween decorations out, one can tell its a matter of time before this location is on the chopping block to be closed as well. Next to how busy they used to be in the 70s, 80s and 90s, theres usually no more than a half a dozen people in the store at a time. The store is clean but as items are sold, they arent being restocked.

Very convenient for a quick stop in to get random items. This location has been here forever and surprisingly its still very well maintained a very clean and its appearance. The staff are friendly and helpful. Ive never had any problem. They sometimes have good clearance sales especially on seasonal items.

They should be ashamed to open the doors. Over crowded with racks of merchandise. Isles? What isles? NASTY, FILTHY BATHROOMS. Staff is unprofessional, even the managers. Better Homes brand shrinks, looks old after 1 wash, frays...total junk. Sorry I have nothing good to say about this location.

Store is pretty well stocked for a Kmart but the employees are awful. The foul mouth on the cashier we had was something out of a sewer. If an employee had a smile on their face it was probably because they were going home. Kmart needs a crash course in customer service.

Horrible would not honor unlined price and ask to return it and purchase it online the store manager said no you will have to wait 2 hrs for the order even though I was doing it in front of him and showed him the confirmation and receipt

Like most of the remaining Kmart and Sears locations they are struggling and the store is in desparate need of a remodel that will probably never happen. They do a good job competing on price but it is not a nice place to go shopping.

This kmart actually cares if you shop there or not.. their customer service us that of old school! The customer comes first! Keep it up toms river kmart and teach the others and kmart may just survive!

Customer service was no where to be found and there were about only 4 employees and all of them were at the registers and none were around the store.plus they did away with their electronic department

Its always empty. Not enough choices of products. LOW staff. Not the cleanest. Surprisingly the prices are a bit high for what they offer. Better off going to Big lots or Wal-Mart.

Good quality clothing items for great prices. Love getting my kids clothes here. Toy selection is decent, as is home goods. Seasonal is usually overpriced.

Like this store. You can get good deals but store is a little dirty, actually more old looking than dirty and some items you can get at Walmart for less.
