I also have tried to like this store. I too want to support local business, however I will NEVER go to this store again. Unbelievably rude to customers. Zero customer service. They must be doing extremely well to be able to treat customers so dismissively. This is literally the first review I have ever written, so the fact that I am even doing this should speak volumes. Try HELPING people rather than saying "nothing I can do". Nothing you can do? You have an entire hardware store. TRY! Too bad because its so convenient. Oh well, off to Home Depot.

Shame on me for going back to this establishment. The woman who owns the place offers the most HORRIBLE customer service EVER. You leave the store wondering did I sh!# in her corn flakes this morning? and almost apologizing for disturbing her by trying to give her business. Truly the most painful experience each time. Again, shame on me. Google, why isnt zero stars allowed? This storefront deserves it.

Ive tried hard to like the store - I want to support local ownership for sure. But over all the years Ive stopped by, they are consistently rude. The brusque manner might make sense in a busy box store, but not in a neighborhood hardware store. Combine that with a much more cluttered place than even your typical hardware store, and I just cant see the advantages.

Although Im from the suburban Phila. area, I love shopping at Pennington Hardware. It takes me back to the old-time stores in small towns. Its crammed full of everything from yard rakes, plumbing fixtures, paint, house cleaning products, etc. Its a special treat for me to shop there.
