I have had two car buying experiences and decided to post my yelp review and an updated one. The first experience was a 5 star...the second a 1 star. The first car was brand new...the 2nd car was used, so please be open minded and read through my review. Thank you. I just purchased a used 2001 Forester S with 85K. I worked with the same sales person, Jon Z, and I do believe he had my best interest when suggesting a car that was being traded in while I stopped in for a service visit. The purchasing part was no problem. I believed I got a great price and the transaction, as before was great. Thats as good as this review will get...I got home and installed brand new brakes (Jon disclosed it would need new pads) changed my oil, checked fluids, installed new battery. I was driving to work the next morning, and during my drive, my car stopped on the side on the road. I towed my car back to the dealership and emailed Jon. This is where the negative part of the purchase comes in. I do realize that the car I bought was older and I bought it "As-Is". The problem with the car was the alternator. The problem was probably there when I test drove the car and in my mind, theres no way they didnt know this, and that the battery was charged prior to me purchasing the vehicle. Jon seemed somewhat concerned, but was more involved into pushing the problem off to service and have them "take care of everything for me." The service department replaced the alternator for an exorbitant amount of money and really didnt work with me on the labor cost. I will accept the price of the marked up alternator, but the labor cost was up and over the top for an alternator I could replace in 20 minutes. I brought it to the dealership to think they would right the purchase by fixing the problem at cost, but was extremely disappointed in how they dealt with the situation. I just bought a WRX from All American last night (11/17/14) and actually was impelled to write a review. I was surprised to see that the only reviews were negative, and it would have deterred me from visiting the dealership. Its unfortunate that the people who have a bad experience write reviews but so few are written when the people are satisfied with the car buying experience. With that said... I visited the dealership on Saturday. The dealership was very busy but the salesman, Jon Zois, apologized for the lack of attention due to the volume of customers, and assisted in getting me information in between accommodating his customer. He appraised my 2010 VW Jetta TDI (NEVER .....EVER...will I buy another VW.....EVAR!) and agreed to a price and I left. I called Jon on Monday and made an appointment for later that day. In the mean time I decided to call around to other dealerships to see if any more negotiating can be done. Only 1 dealership was able to "beat" All Americans price. It was so off base that I decided not to trust that sales person and not go in (Manfredis Subaru in Staten Island...shame on you). I got to All American and Jon did the service of preparing some paperwork ahead of time. After Jon and I took the car for a test drive, Jon called my insurance company and switched everything over. In the background, Nicole Pohlmeyer was preparing my DMV and financial paperwork, and she is completely an awesome human being. Lastly, I was disappointed that I wasnt able to test drive the car right away. But during my sale, at least 3 group of teens came in to test drive the car too. However, after purchasing the car, Im glad that its me breaking in the car the right way, and everything after the 8 miles on the odometer is mine. The process, like any other car buying experience, did take some time (about 2 - 2.5H) but it was definitely the most pleasant car buying experience for me. The people were respectful, professional, courteous, and efficient in the work they provided for me. I hope my review will at least allow them to have a shot at getting your business. Youd be pleasantly surprised.

Purchased a car here end of January 2017, A week later I realized the passenger side speaker has a severe rattling problem even at barely audible volumes. The clutch felt very weird in my brand new WRX. Dropped it off the first time a Week later and 2 days later got a call saying my cars speaker was rattling and has been repaired: IT WAS NOT REPAIRED AND WAS STILL VERY MUCH PRESENT. They discounted my clutch claim COMPLETELY. I called back and Lawrence said he would give me a call back after he spoke to the technician who looked at the car and would get back to me. I Never got a call back. Upon my second visit for the same set of problems, I asked lawrence about his call back, His response was a blunt "Sorry about that". 2 weeks later I was very fed up with the speakers in my BRAND NEW car which I purchased from them, Took the car back on a friday and left it there. (I did not have an appointment so they looked at my car monday which I completely understand). Their service rep named "Lawrence" called me telling me the speaker rattle was only at volume 26 and that you cant raise the volume past this point. - Please explain why the 5 other speakers in the car will not rattle a single bit except for that single one? Lawrences explaination? "The Passenger side door has no controls, just a window up and down switch, so it rattles in there for that reason". Mechanic took my car out on a test drive with me telling me indeed the clutch felt weird and he acknowledged my concern. He dropped me off back at the dealer and said let me go drive the car some more and see whats going on. He claimed to own 2 WRXs that are fully modded and that my car is nothing new to him. Whats next? He comes back 20 minutes later and tells me that there is an STi in the shop and that the vibration and gritty feeling clutch im experiencing is normal for these cars. You own 2 wrxs and acknowledge my concern on a test drive, And then you come back 20 minutes later and tell me its normal and thats how it is from the factory? Mind you this was their lead foreman mechanic. I will NEVER take my car here for service and I feel horrible that I gave them my business. I will never purchase another car from this family of dealerships. Their staff is underinformed, and blows smoke so they dont fix your brand new car.

Worst experience ever ! I negotiated the price on their website and made an appointment to purchase the car. Although their internet salesman was at the dealership he never even came over to me to say hello or help me, instead another salesman worked with me. First he tried to sell me a different car. He then stated the negotiated Internet price was wrong, but the sales manager agreed to it after I showed them their email. A deal that should have taken a short period of time, took over 6 hours. After they finally accepted the price , next was the trade in (which went fine). Now comes a problem with what they accept for the down payment, (credit card, cash, check, etc.) I had emailed their internet salesman a number of times to avoid this, but he never responded. More time goes by before I sit with the financial representative. He trys to sell you an extended warranty for $1999.00 when you can get a similar warranty, direct from Subaru for approximately $1000.00. When you decline his offer, in his own way ,he degrades you for not taking such a great warranty. Now Im given a check off sheet with everything already checked off that was supposed to be explained to me about the car, which wasnt ! I would not sign it until I was at least able to see the car and there were no dents or scratches on it. I had transferred plates, so all that had to be mailed to me was my registration. Two weeks go by and my registration comes with the Motor Vehicle receipt. I noticed there was a discrepancy and I had paid more for MV fees then I should have. No biggie, this usually happens and the dealer refunds the difference -NOT THIS DEALER. The salesman tells me there are hidden costs and the price was correct on the contract. I even told him his own contract states that if the Motor Vehicle fees come back lower, (see paragraph 15 of contract) the dealer will refund the difference - They refused to refund the difference. This is my fourth Subaru, the first and last from this dealer. The only reason I went to them was they had the car with options that I wanted in stock. My advice is look to a different dealer for less hassle.
