Honestly, this was a 2-star place. The quality of shoe I purchased was fine and their selection was great. That said, I had to deal with old-school used car salesman tactics from the moment I walked in. I was informed that I had to use their socks to try on shoes. Sure enough, they began trying to sell me on the socks I was wearing (which were $32). I told them when I walked in that I was trying to not "break the bank." The guy came out with several different pairs of shoes, only two of which were actually under $100. Finally, I selected my top two pairs of shoes and said I would take which ever one was cheaper. The salesman began in on the socks again and told me to pick out a pair and he would make me a deal since it was my first time there. The "deal" was to sign me up for VIP membership which brought my total cost to $132. I said no thank you to the membership as I dont buy shoes that often. He restated my price at $126. I asked which pair of shoes he rang me up with, and it was the more expensive pair. I stated that I wanted the cheaper pair and was repriced at $117. Again, I asked why the high price. He stated that without VIP membership the socks were $32! I got upset at this point and said "LOSE THE SOCKS!" Finally my price was under $90 and I made my purchase and left. There was no "have a nice day" or "thanks for your business" at the end. Instead, it was clear that he was disappointed that he was unable to get more money out of me. Watch out for these tactics at this store!

Completely turned off by the aggressive sales pitch. The two people certainly did not look like they had a clue on running. Seemed more like they watched the sales video. The foot assessment was ridiculous.....I ran briefly on a treadmill and they analyzed my running style but in no way conveyed how it guided shoe selection. Unimpressive and a sales gimmick at best. Took me 45 minutes to actually try on a shoe and then trying each one on was painfully slow....there were only two customers in the store and two sales people. Did not have a good selection in my size and kept pushing a smaller shoe, just to get a sale. Also immediately concluded that I needed orthotics and put them in the shoes with no mention of the $80 price tag. (the deceptive upsell). Also tried to force socks upon me by asking "what color do i want" instead of Do you want socks?" (dont see if the customer wants it, just force it on them) I will not return to the store and would encourage you to search elsewhere.

As someone who had purchased from Road Runner via mail order before, I was pleased to find this retail store upon moving to the area. Finding the perfect pair of running shoes is essential to the enjoyment of the hobby, and the "shoe dog" custom fit is easily worth the price. Road Runner also has a liberal return policy to make sure youre a good match for your shoes. Some of the non-shoe items can be a little overpriced, but careful attention to sales and membership in their "VIP" program is essential - really, it pays for itself with the first pair, and if you wear through multiple pairs a year, youre missing out. The staff is aggressively friendly, although skill level seems to vary a bit from person to person. As the new economy transitions more toward online shopping, the in-store experience has been definitely a cut above and worth the extra time.

“Steve” suggested that, instead of shopping at Road Runner Sports, we support a local “buisness.” If Steve knew how to spell I might be willing to take his advice, but he doesn’t, so I won’t. That’s not why I’m writing this review, however – I’m writing because Road Runner Sports is the only store I could find that carries the item I’m interested in buying – the Fuel Belt. I could get it at Amazon, but I want to be able to see it and examine it before making the purchase. Staff at other stores lied to me over the phone, telling me that they carried the Fuel Belt when they really didn’t, then tried to sell me a different product when I arrived. Maybe Steve is right, and the staff at Road Runner Sports aren’t runners, but at least they don’t lie about what they have for sale.

I absolutely, totally LOVE my Road Runner pants!!! Its VERY well made (USA), material is wicking AND! it is SUPERBLY designed (even has a nice black band on the side made of a different material, very, flattering for the figure!) that Ive worn them w/my work tops & no one would know its workout pants!! Even better? Because it has a band that I can tie up at the hem of the pants, I tighten that, pull it up and Voila! I have dressy capris! Im so glad I bought 3 of these (took advantage of the sale, $35.99) bec its I wear all the time: leisure, work. Now, Im totally sold on this store and their products. Im ready to go back and really get capris :))

I will never buy another pair of running shoes from anywhere but this store. I was approached by an associate within 10 seconds of me walking through the door. He then spent 30 minutes sizing, mapping, and evaluating my feet, determining everything from my arch type to my achilles tendon flexibility. I then tried on nearly 6 types of shoes (stability) and watched on the treadmill how my feet responded. All this evaluation stuff is completely free, I didnt get this much info from a podiatrist I saw last year. Very happy with Road Runner Sports.

RRS had a wide variety of running shoe selection and a very helpful return policy, though the salesmanship and upselling was a tad eye-rolling. Despite their "science" of knowing what shoes were best for me, I ended up returning the first two suggested pairs since they caused considerable ache over longer runs. Staff suggested that this was because I wasnt wearing their exclusive brand of socks. I ignored that suggestion and tried one last pair of shoes, which finally did end up working out (and theyre quite nice).

Thanks Katelyn for taking my running shoes back. I bought 4 pairs on sale online, but immediately on my first run I felt pain on my knees. Ive been running in Nimbus 16 for the past year or so. I thought i just needed new running shoes but actually my running pattern had chnaged. No questions asked, she accepted the return and credited my Amex. The VIP package is sooo well worth it, Ive been a member now since 2010, and seem to always find the best prices for sneakers at this store or online.

Went to buy a pair of workout shoes. A sales person asked me if I wanted insoles ($70+ a pair) and socks with my shoes. I said no, just shoes. After that, no salesperson came to assist me to choose a pair of shoes. They had some shoes I liked on display but I could not get anyone to give me a pair to try. After waiting for about 20 minutes, I left the store empty handed. I am a Road Runner Sports VIP Family member.

Came to the store 4 times this week and still couldnt get someone to help me. Went there today, waited forever until someone was free only for them to leave me with the wrong size sneakers and with someone that was busy just so they could take someone walking in the door! Awful!! Need more workers. Also, crappy selection as far as styles and colors for sneakers.
