If I could give a rating of zero stars, I would. Another reviewer described Towne Vision Center as a "mom and pop" shop, but I say they should aspire to such heights. We had a very unpleasant experience there: Before making an appointment to have my daughter fitted for contact lenses, Tom at TVC told us they accepted our vision insurance. However, upon checkout he qualified his earlier remark, saying they only accepted the insurance for the actual contact lenses, not for the eye exam itself (the most expensive part of our visit). I proceeded to cancel the contact lens order and paid for the eye exam, already vowing never to return to TVC. Fast forward two months, and we receive a letter in the mail from TVC stating that they have not received a reimbursement check from our insurance company for my daughters visit. I called TVC and reminded them that they didnt accept our insurance, and Susan at TVC told me they did accept it; she went on to delineate the fee schedule for the various portions of my daughters eye exam, and the numbers added up to $85.00 less than what they had charged me two months earlier. I pointed this out to her, and she grew obviously uncomfortable and told me shed call me back. Needless to say, I never received another call from her. When I finally called TVC the next day, Tom got on the line and told me yet another story with a fee schedule that was completely different from what I was charged OR what Susan told me on the phone the day before. All this, not to mention that the eye doctor on duty the day my daughter had her eye exam started telling me about how he thinks girls seem to be going through puberty at such a young age these days, adding that his daughter started "developing" around age 11. What?! Very weird place, glad I can laugh about it all now, but I wouldnt revisit if it was the last optical store in NJ. Ugh! M.

Terrible customer service. They over charged us by $100+ because they couldnt be bothered to handle the insurance themselves. I had to call the insurance company and resolved the issue in five minutes. Then when my wife went in for a refund they claimed they had not received authorization from my insurance. The doctor Tom literally threatened to not reimburse my wife because "he didnt want to see her anymore" and then stormed into his office like a child. I would give zero starts if possible. We will also be asking our insurance to remove them as a recommended provider. They were incredibly rude to my wife. Extremely unprofessional.

The office is laid back and very casual, This is refreshing for the are of New Providence. If you want a staff dressed in lab coats and talk down to you then this is not the place to go. Getting a new pair of glasses is relaxing and nobody rushes you into making a decision! Prices are reasonable and glasses are mad on the premises.

Terrific service and friendly staff. Choosing new glasses isnt always an easy decision but they always take the time to make sure I feel confident Im making the right one before I leave. Highly recommend.
