I have a few personal complaints although it seems the masses love this place.Im not particularly fond of it for a few reasons.In the stores favor mist of the staff are wonderful and friendly people although there are a few who will give you lowball prices on items sold to the store,that I dont like.Also had a run in or 2 with the owner but that was a long time ago and has since been resolved.My other gripe is that since its the only place popular in South Jersey for its nature,getting there is no fun with the way the roads and traffic are all the time,theres always road work and potholes and people driving a bit erratically.The clientele I have encountered,just wow...although that isnt the staff and stores fault but wow some of them Ive dealt with were foul and ill mannered.My last gripe is that theyre a bit expensive while they give you a small portion during a trade in they sell high priced.So if youre a comic and/or game lover they have you covered as far as being helpful and getting you what you need but be prepared to pay for it and if youre selling something there be prepared for a lowball.Otherwise they are a great business.

I have learned comic books make an awful investment, after selling a two large box collection of comics from the 80s, 90s and 2000s (full first print sets of alien, alien versus predator, predator, batman versus predator, superman versus alien, signed copy of Tom Savinis make up manual, all the Gloom Cookie series, and a full box of thick graphic novels and poison elves almanacs, etc, etc, etc) they were worth little more than a 10th of what I paid, $50! Lol, the rest of the boxes I have of superman and batman and wonder woman and super hero comics I will just donate to good will, spent a third of the money just getting to the store, we need a store in Atlantic County area. The staff were super nice and friendly and worked very quickly to assess the value of my haul. Shop is very clean and a good size and owner says they are opening a second store. If you live close by you can get some great deals as the comics i sold are only worth pennies on the dollar. Go get em and give them some business and visit goodwill in Egg Harbor city lol.

Great place! Im more interested in CCGs (Magic: the Gathering specifically) than comics, and they have a pretty nice singles selection, along with the usual product, and a good variety of accessories (sleeves, mats, boxes, etc). Prices are reasonable, and pre-order prices tend to be cheaper than other places. For me, the atmosphere and people are the most important part of a card/comic book store -- this place has got it covered. The owner is helpful and generally awesome, and there are a lot of great people that come in to sling cards. Yea... the hours could be better, but Id rather hang out at a place run by a hippie who doesnt always get out of bed before noon :)

This shop is quite easily a 55 min plus drive from my home and longer from where I work. I drive past multiple shops similar to this one along the way and the thought of stopping somewhere else just wont do. The staff is friendly and professional, patrons are passionate and attentive to the community of the shop, and the products are well stocked. The main reason to be at The Comic Book Store is simply because they understand the value of their customer at ALL times! If you have any interest in gaming or comics, do yourself a favor and stop in and just meet the staff and the loyal customer base!

Spacious store with friendly, welcoming staff. After not buying comics for about 20 years, I stopped in with my daughters and wasnt sure where to start. The staff pointed us in the right direction and - while I wish they had more of a selection / titles for young kids - we were able to find a few they liked and they seem to be the only place in the area that carries Lumber Janes. Will be stopping back on a regular basis for new issues.

I have been going to The Comic Store for years. They have an abundant inventory both in comics and games. The store is well kept, organized, and has a professional yet friendly atmosphere. The employees there are knowledgeable about both literature and games when asked for suggestions for various styles and age groups.

I have gone there three times, the stated hours are that they open at noon. I have gotten there as late as 12:30 and they have not been open on any of the three occasions Ive gone. I will not bother driving the 20 minutes down there. Apparently its good business to make up your own hours

This store has a decent enough offering of the weekly releases and some trade paperbacks, but the true heart of the store lies within its focus on tabletop gaming. The gaming crowd seems lively and welcoming to anyone looking for a fun time.

Wide variety and selection of hobby related items including collectable and trading card games, board games, comics, miniatures for table top RPGs ( and paints) all at reasonable prices. Also, knowledgeable staff is a plus.

Was there a handful of times. Seems nice at first but when ever management not around a specific staff member likes to harass customers. Also if you try selling to them they pay you very little for the average sell value.

Great atmosphere and a great selection of board games, cards (Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh) and of course comics. Alex, the owner is very helpful and extremely knowledgeable and Lou, the apprentice, is always there to lend a hand.
