I just want to say how extremely upset and disappointed I am in not only this petsmart, but the company in general. Ive waited a few days to write this review so that I dont over-exaggerate or let my emotions take me away. My boyfriend and I came in a couple weeks ago just looking around, and fell in love with a bearded dragon we saw. We got him that very day and took him home. He was the first thing that was ours and we were very excited about him and his life and watching him grow, possibly start breeding. 15 days later, unexpectedly, I went to go feed him and he was dead in his tank. Now let me tell you that we made sure we got him the best of everything and took care of him extremely carefully. Im sure (or at least I hope) that everyone knows that Petsmart is not able to care for the reptiles and small animals very properly. Their conditions are inadequate for them and they buy them from factories that produce them like theyre objects and not as the living creatures they are. NOW: The first day we got our dragon, we barely knew anything about them. So we asked the associates a few questions hoping they could give us the basics (as we should, if youre going to sell living animals you BETTER know the basics for them), and then do the research when we got home. As nice as they were, those associates advised us to specifically give them crickets one day, MEALWORMS the next, and alternate. Baby dragons can NOT have MEALWORMS. They cant even digest them yet, and its pretty much the easiest way to ruin a baby dragons stomach and kill them. Thanks for the advice, Petsmart. Good thing our sweet boy died 15 days after we bought him and you all are safe under your 14 day guarantee. Believe me when I say that everyone I come into contact with will know this and I sincerely hope that pet-owners will wake up and stop buying things from your store that YOU cant even take care of. I am completely and udderly disgusted. In the most respectful way possible, I pray that you will all stick to selling pets supplies and not animals.

Your experience as a customer will be average, you will find what you are looking for when you go in, and the associates can help you find what you need if you cant find it yourself. its their job, nothing mind blowing in terms of service (despite what some devout Petsmart employees will tell you in these reviews). As an employee however, the associates are friendly, but expect to be talked down to by some of the management. Despite being only a single position or two above an entry level employee, some of the older management feel it is part of their job description to belittle the associates, treating them like children, presumably because they want to feel like they got somewhere important in their life (typical retail management). This "holier than thou" behavior is usually passive aggressive, my attention was called on several occasions while working there for trivial things that had no effect on work performance, things that the management would do regularly, such as cell phone usage. The worst part of this is that the management is about as good as retail management goes, that usually means horrible scheduling that leads to not enough employees in more than one occasion, every week. Not to mention scheduling lots of managers to work at the same times, usually to have "hang out" circles. Most seasonal and temporary employees will not notice this as they work for a short period of time, but its when you work there for a long time, as I did, do you see these typical behaviors show, especially being scheduled with managers frequently. Your experience may differ, but delusional managers were the main reason I eventually ended up leaving this otherwise decent establishment, the worst offenders of which was the head manager, along with his bald headed best buddy manager, with a name that rhymes with the very curse word that describes him extremely accurately.

We had to make a last minute decision to put our yorkie in petsmarts dog hotel. The staff was very friendly and a big dog checking out seemed very happy coming out from the back. However it was worrisome that petsmart doesnt allow a tour of the facilities where pets are kept. On the third day of the stay I got a call about our dog having diarrhea, the vet within the petsmart gave me options of a bland diet, medication or blood work. Since this is most commonly caused by stress (we gave the staff our own dog food, we decided to wait a day before giving medication, we will be back to pick him up in 2 days anyways. We have asked friends he has never met to dog sit before, so it doesnt seem like him to diarrhea from stress. The next day the staff called me to let me know the diarrhea stopped, hes been happy and excited to play throughout the stay. However when we brought him home he was sneezing nonstop and now days later started to diarrhea. I made an appointment to see the vet. Hopefully just kennel cough? Our dog have all vaccines up to date, although the bordetella shot have been 8 months ago, a different boarding place (with live cams and facility tour) required the shot within 6 months, so maybe that is most effective. Anyways, maybe I shouldnt have booked group play, if hes catching the cooties there. When I made the reservation i was told first night is free, but I just realized that wasnt reflected on the bill..... all in all, I appreciate that the staff kept me updated but due to the problems with my dog after boarding I would not feel comfortable leaving him here again :(

I made an online appointment yesterday at 8pm to get a bath for my 7 month old Poodle mix. About an hour after I made an appointment I received a phone call and since I didnt recognize the number, I let it go to voicemail. The woman at the grooming salon left me a voicemail saying that she had a question concerning my dogs appointment. I called back and asked them what was the matter and they asked me to come in earlier to "make sure my dog has enough time for her service." I asked how long does a bath take and she told me "it takes an hour but we close at 9." I told her I couldnt come in earlier and she just said okay thank you. If you guys close at 9 why would there be an option for an 8pm bath appointment? I brought my dog in exactly at 8 and left. I received a phone call at 8:43pm from the groomer and she told me my dog was ready. I went inside and she told me "her face and ears are wet because she kept on moving," I didnt want to take my dog outside in the freezing cold being that she was still wet but I guess I had no other option. I said thank you, paid and got into my car. Once I got into my car, I noticed my dog still had dried up eye boogers around her eyes. I felt as if the service was rushed because the groomers wanted to go home but it isnt fair to me or my dog.

Really not satisfied with my experience here. I tried to take my dog to their daycare this morning. I had to wait about 15 minutes just to speak to the associate running the boarding/day care area. During that time another associate came into the area. Instead of assisting me with day care, she just tried to pressure me into signing up for their dog training classes. When I made it apparent I wasnt interested, that associate disappeared and left me to wait. When I finally got to speak to the day care front desk, I was told that I needed an appointment. I was very confused by this (as I explained to the employee) because I had called the night before and was told I did not need an appointment and could just bring my dog in whenever. The only solution offered was that I could bring my dog back in four hours for daycare. As we dont live in the area, I really couldnt wait around with my dog for hours so we just went home. I had really high hopes and think my dog would have enjoyed playing with the other dogs, but I really dont feel comfortable leaving my dog at a place where employees dont even know basic store policies. We wont be coming back.
