Cheyenne or Chey-SCAM?? I went to Cheyenne today, where I am a very loyal and repeat customer to purchase a rifle scope. When I called to verify that they had the scope in stock, they kindly offered to mount and bore sight it for free after I said I would do it myself. I took a lengthy drive (I dont go out that far from home very often for something like this) to purchase the scope and let them mount it on my rifle and give them my business once again, rather than order it on line and pay the same price with free shipping. I do prefer to support local NJ businesses. Customer loyalty…. I arrived, they were very friendly and mounted the scope, walked me to the front and the gentleman that mounted he scope told the cashier the price of the scope and charge labor of $25, a discount from $35. My reaction? Labor? Huh? They then explained that the free mounting and sighting was only when the firearm is purchased in the store. THAT WAS NOT MENTIONED ON THE PHONE!!! When I explained that, the owner, who could not look me in the eye, said that I am mistaken, and when I responded that I heard our conversation very clearly and I believe he misspoke, I was told that I heard it wrong. Customer loyalty? Apparently they dont dare. The customer is always right? Apparently its all about the greenbacks at Cheyenne once they get into a situation like this. The scope was already mounted and I didnt feel I would win this argument because they really, really needed my measly $25. I had two options - pay them what they wanted or have them remove the scope, mount my old scope back on the rifle and re-sight it - which they would have wanted another $35 labor for probably...I opted to just pay them, let them know that me and my group of fellow veterans, hunters and shooting enthusiasts will be taking our business elsewhere. The manager had no concerns over losing my business and that of my friends. Anyway, this is not about the $, its about the principal. After nearly being called a liar and being insulted by the owners, wasting my time, gas money and paying far too much for the 5 min of effort to mount the scope, this is just a crappy, crappy experience with a big turnover shop and they basically just proved that its about your $, not you!! I have dealt with much smaller mom and pop type shops that go out of their way for you and when in doubt, like good business people should, they do the right thing. Not Cheyenne. Seems to be a BAIT and CHARGE$$ scam to me. You may like this shop and previous to this I did, but I will go out of my way to take my business elsewhere and they should spend the $25 on a customer service training video and make sure the owners watch it instead of counting your hard earned cash you spend there and laughing all the way to the bank.

I went into Cheyenne today after thinking that Id save a few bucks by going to Cabelas for a new bow and having an absolutely unexpected horrible experience there. Nobody in the cabelas archery dept knew anything about bows. Went to Cheyenne and was helped by Vinnie......an absolute expert in his field. Im an intermediate bow hunter and it was great to hear his opinion on what my needs were or what I thought my needs were. I was able to shoot 3 bows that he set up to see which one fit me the best and the one I chose was the one he initially recommended. He didnt try to up sell me anything, but recommended accessories based on what I wanted to spend. 2.5 hours later I walked out with an incredible bow that was tailored to me and set up for me. Vinnie at no time tried to rush things to take care of anybody else........he was patient....as if I was the only customer in there. It really was a great experience. No big box store could ever surpass the experience I had buying a bow from Vinnie at Cheyenne. I will make it a point to buy all of my other hunting needs here as well as they have everything!!!! Thanks Vinnie!!

I have been a customer there for seven months. Today one of the staff members decided to be unprofessional and rude about my inquiry about a slow NIC Check & Glock Differences 34 vs 19 vs 17, which uses a different round than a 15 in the GEN4 19. Not only did he rant about it he also decided to insult a customer that was going to purchase one of they had it. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on, which is a shame because all their other staff members were fine and they have a nice selection. Absolutely the least helpful, stuck up and clueless FFL in our area. Typical macho men behind the counter that dont know a damn thing about anything. You may like this shop and previous to this I did, but I will go out of my way to take my business elsewhere and they should spend serious money on a customer service training video and make sure the owners watch it instead of counting your hard earned cash you spend there and laughing all the way to the bank. Seriously DONT BUY FROM HERE.

I purchased a mathews bow from these guys about a year ago and spent well over $1000. I needed a new string replace, & there was no other customers in the store . The little short over weight guy told me that it would take about three weeks to get the new string replaced. I told him that I bought my own & just needed it installed. The employee said thats right 3 weeks, just leave the bow here well take good care of it!! This was about a week before bow season. I left & went down rt130 to sportsmen center. They installed the string ,set the bow & I also purchased a dozen arrows, & a pack of broad heads. I was on my way out the door in less then 1hr & there was about 3 other customers that were in front of me. I told sportsmen center about the poor service & they were very professional & did not even comment!! Its a shame that you can get such poor service when spending your hard earned cash. Best wishes ,& Hopefully youll have new training with customers service in your new store.

I purchased a Sig P226 off them about a year ago. Great selection, but the sales person I dealt with was rude and unprofessional. After accidentally filling out a form incorrectly, the guy said hell have to get a new one. I said "no problem, thank you" , I turned around and started walking down an isle and heard him say "idiot cant follow simple instructions". I dont think I was meant to hear it and I didnt say anything. Just wanted to make my purchase and leave. Regardless, I wont be returning. I dont think they care either. Every time I went there tons of people were in line waiting to make firearm purchases. I gave them 2 stars instead of one because at the end of the day I had my Sig, but there are lots of other places to purchase from and I suggest you find one.

Ive been here several times and every time I get great customer service from everyone behind the counter. Everyone is very knowledgeable and very attentive to what your looking for and patient , what more could you ask for considering your making an important purchase. I just purchased a 9mm and "Fred" took great care of me from start to finish. Not only do I buy my firearms from here but also a lot of accessories that you would normally think of buying online but guess what they have plenty of items at comparable prices and you can see them for yourself , instead of waiting for it to be shipped. So take the ride, come in and experience for yourself and you wont be disappointed.
