This is one of, if not The Worst Home Depot. Flat out. The staff arent simply unfamiliar with the products available as well as usage, they are combative with customers. More specifically the staff, whos job is more so customer service than their peers, who are situated at a desk or counter. I have been freelancing as a general repair / maintenance through TaskRabbit over the last 6 months. Before then, I worked as an over hire carpenter for Television and Theater. So, being this is my closest Home Depot I frequent this store. Sometimes upwards of 3 times a week or multiple times a day. Ive experienced more times than I can recall "This isnt my department. (Walks away)" as a response to a simple question. A question that was already hard asked due to dread of further perplexing one of the workers with that simple question immediately related to a product in the store and not the task to be preformed. A question of dread that was hard asked after FINALLY find SOMEONE in an orange apron having walked a circle in the section I was shopping in for 10 minutes. I purchased a Makita drill some time ago from this home depot and when I got home I discovered that the drill had already been used and some components were missing. No fuss, I went to exchange it. Only to argue about why I was returning the drill if it worked. Like... what? Not even asking for my money back, I paid for a new drill, Id like a new drill; I should just be grateful? What the.... This is an ongoing theme here. There isnt a familiar face this store that I would want to gravitate to in hopes of a faster solution to any issue I might have. Like, at least a "my guy/gal" sort of individual. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE. Restaff, ground up. All this staff stuff aside, theyre pretty well stocked which would be enough if it was a Grainger, but its a department store. So... Customer service is a must.

Went there looking to have a carpet installed in my hallway as my new puppy has more or less destroyed the old one. I walked around for about a half hour and no one offered to help me out, all of the associates were just socializing with each other. A group of female workers just talked while customers like myself who needed help walked by and when I finally asked the guy working in the department, DENNIS, for help he spoke to me in a very condescending and disrespectful manner, as if I was just window shopping and was going to waste his time. I assume that because Im young he jumped to the conclusion that I was not there to spend any money so he didnt even make an effort to help me, he just continued talking to his coworker while continuing to talk down to me and make sarcastic comments when I explained to him what I wanted to buy. Then he told me Home Depot doesnt do installations! I actually work for the Home Depot in Clifton so I know what the stores do and for him to have told me that only speaks to me about how truly lazy he is. His customer service skills need serious help and I suggest he go back through training to better understand the philosophy behind home depot and how much this company values customer service. Its very sad to say that as an associate I will be taking my business elsewhere because of the laziness and lack of professionalism that I received from this associate named DENNIS. This Home Depot is a hole and DOES NOT properly represent the company. To all reading this, do yourselves a favor and drive an extra 15 minutes out to Clifton where we actually value our customers unlike under trained associates such as DENNIS. I will also be following up with a complaint to the HR at this particular store. No one should have been treated the way I did, especially when theyre looking to spend a lot of money. something like carpet installed, its deplorable.

During the recent power outage, I went to this home depot to buy kerosene. This is where Ive bought the kerosene every other time. (This is also the same home depot I gave tens of thousands of dollars to; for materials when I built my house). No one offers any assistance. After 20 mins of searching, I had to chase down an employee to get some help... way he acted made me feel like I was bothering the President. He mumbled the name of some area of the store & expected me to just know where that was. After another 20 mins, I asked someone else. "Excuse me me, where can I find the kerosene?" .. he continued watching youtube on his smartphone, and when it was done, he said.. "pst.. heh .. at a gas station, my man. You know how dangerous that stuff is" then went on to another video. Anyway, I eventually found a bottle in some corner by the plant section. I have worked many retail & customer svc jobs to know how they should run their business. I also understand that some customers can be difficult, but that certainly doesnt excuse the way these employees treat people. I guess being condescending and unacknowledged is a hiring requirement. I dont know how they stay open.

Customer service not that great. Ive been shopping at this location for over 15 years And generally found the customer service to be ok, but not great.I also observed isle closures with the fork lifts going around almost every time Id go there. Most recently i was looking for a 50 lb bag of rock salt. I saw a whole lot of rock salt on the garden department for. $20 a bag, so I decided to opt for something cheaper. As I was about to leave the store I came across a gentleman with a full shopping cart of ruck salt, of a different kind. I asked him how much they are going for and to make a long story short I decided to go look for them. I asked one of the garden department representatives, who told me that what you see here is all that there is.I did however notice a whole pallet the cheap salt totally unopened. I ended up going to Lowes in East Rutherford where I was kingly greeted as I entered, the $10 bag of rock salt was right there near the entrance, and a store that was much better staffed and less crowded. .

Went to Home Depot and purchased four large carpet remnants for my home. Was shocked to learn that delivery could only be provided as "outside delivery" - for a $79.00 fee- meaning the rugs could not be brought into my house - but rather left curbside. What craziness is this!! And was charged an additional $20.00 for what is called threshold delivery - to be made within a four hour window instead of having a possible all day long wait. Outrageous!!! I will however say that the Sales Associates were very nice. Very helpful. They were the bright spot of my Home Depot experience. And though pleased with my purchase - I am extremely dissatisfied with the delivery policy. As far as delivery is concerned - it is absolutely the worst customer service I have ever seen in my life. A change definitely needs to be made.
