I really cant think of anything positive to say in regards to my experience at Modern Bride. My best friend is getting married so I made an appt. for a Saturday to go to the store and order the dress she picked out. Upon arrival I waited 25 minutes past my appt time. Once someone was able to see me, my measurements were taken at the register in front of the busy Saturday morning crowd of customers and I was told my deposit was due. Then I was informed that my dress would be ordered when all the bridesmaids had been in. I was never offered to see or try on the dress, though one of other bridesmaid did get to see and try on the sample when she went? It would have been nice to see what I was buying. Upon leaving I called the bride for a description of the dress, guess a mental picture would have to do. Months go by and the dress comes in (after numerous calls from the bride). The bridesmaids are told that we get a free press and hem with the purchase. To make an appt for the press, hem & any needed alterations when you work 9-5, M-F was a true effort in itself, I was being offered 2 and 3pm fittings after I told the staff I worked 9-5. Saturdays were completely unavailable. The seamstress I met with made me feel very rushed. The dress was super tight so I asked her to take an inch out on each side. Upon getting the dress after the alterations it was apparent that I didnt get what I (pre)paid for. The dress felt exactly the same, super tight up top. After comparing my dress to that of the smarter bridesmaid who refused to pay Modern Brides prices for her alterations, it was obvious my dress was not let out, they just removed the boning in the side. The other bridesmaid compared her unaltered dress to mine (along with a dressmaker/seamstress) only to that along the vertical seems of the dress from the arm pit to the hips, the extra fabric that one would use to let the dress out had horizontal cuts/tears in it making it impossible to have the dress let out more than 1/8"( that measurement is generous). When I called Modern Bride to tell them that my dress did not have the alterations that I asked & paid for I was told that I had requested 1/4" (I know for a fact I asked for 1" each side) and that I was wrong. When I told them that all 3 dresses we had at that moment all had the cuts making it impossible to even be let out and that I could take pictures to show them, the conversation took a turn for the worse. The manager became very condescending and tried to say that their seamstresses were the only ones qualified to work on the dress. Being that its a simple dress and knowing that you cant let out a dress if the fabric isnt there I found this to be a joke. You only had to turn the dress inside out to see what we were seeing. We ordered 6 bridesmaids dresses and 1 came out acceptable. The worst part of the experience is not how badly the dresses came out but how the management refused to acknowledge any problem and became argumentative. Considering this is my only bridesmaid dress this summer and the seamstress sees multiple customers a day I definitely see where I mistake could have been made. But when communicating with the management they act as if the are not human and that they could not possibly make a mistake, obviously the other 5 bridesmaids and I are all wrong. The condescending tone used by the manager Brian was so unprofessional that I would rather pay another seamstress double than enter that bridal shop again. This seems to be the general consensus among all the bridesmaids since we are now taking our business to a more professional establishment.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! This is the letter i sent to management: I had originally gone into your store a few weeks prior with my cousin who was purchasing her wedding dress. The consultant helping her didnt know the answers to any of her questions and seemed distracted the whole time she was helping her. We ended up ordering our bridesmaid dresses that same day. I saw a dress i liked for myself so I went back on Feb 7th to try it on. Upon arriving at the store I noticed there were alot of teenagers trying on prom dresses, as well as a few brides. I walked up to the counter where two people (one male, one female) were working, in the hopes of getting some help and neither of them even acknowledged my presence. I waited about 5 minutes and decided to walk around and see if I could find some help. The fitting rooms were packed but I saw no consultants around. The male employee walked by and I asked how I go about trying on a dress and was told they were busy and I would have to wait. So i walked through the racks and found the dress myself. About 5 minutes later I found a consultant putting away dresses and asked for help, and was handed off to another consultant, who never asked my name and never told me hers. She brought me to the fitting rooms and hung my dress up and said wed have to wait till a room was free, then she left. After about 10 minutes she came back and gave me a room, then she left again. After getting into the dress I needed someone to zip me up, so I looked outside the room and the consultant was no where to be found, so I asked another consultant if she could zip me up. Then I came out of the room and went up on the pedestal to view the dress, but couldnt arrange the train myself to get a proper view of the dress, so I had to wait until my original consultant finally came by and asked her to fix it. She seemed very inconvenienced by my questions about the bustle and the color of the dress (mine was ivory). She brought me another dress in bright white, so i could compare colors, and then left again. I changed into the second dress, and then back into the original dress and back into my clothes and never saw the consultant again. When I came out of the fitting room I stood there awhile waiting for her to come back, she never did. So I asked the closest consultant about ordering the dress and she told me when she was done with her bride she could help me. I stood around awhile waiting and then left the store. I was extremely disappointed in the lack of customer service I experienced in your store. I will definitely be buying my gown and my bridesmaid gowns at another store. If you are so under staffed that you cant even greet customers when they walk into your store, perhaps you should require appointments. I wish that we hadnt ordered our bridesmaid dresses there because I dont want to spend any more money in your store.
