I have owned a 2012 Trek Mamba since 6/17/12. In a normal, single-track, trail ride situation, the back rim bent beyond repair on 8/16/13. I took my bike to the Omaha Trek Store on 8/17/13. I did not know Trek’s warranty covered rims for two years at that time. Spoke to Scott, told him the story, he looked at it, said he would talk to the "warranty rep" and let me know on Monday. He said he believed that something would be done to help me. Monday came and went; no call. I called the Omaha Store on Tues., 8/20. Spoke to Paul (believe it was Matthews). He told me they were too busy to email the "warranty rep" on Monday, but would take care of it and get back to me within a day. I had to call again on Wed. and this time I know I talked to Paul Matthews. He said they did not offer "crash warranty" on rims. Explained to him, as I had to Scott, there was no crash. Paul told me to bring it in so he could take pictures. Told him I had already done that on Sat. He said he couldn’t do anything for me if I didn’t bring it in, again. At this point I’m frustrated and a bit irritated. When I get there, Scott greeted me and I told him I had spoken with Paul and was not happy. Paul was working on another bike 10 feet away from me at that time. He continued to work on the other bike without saying anything, looking at me or acknowledging me in any way. After about 10 minutes, he decided to move over to my bike, he looked at it, took some pictures, told me that since it wasn’t a crash, it would be covered under a “2-year wheel warranty”. This time I left the bike with him. Thursday and Friday morning passed and I never heard from Paul. I called him mid-afternoon on Friday. He said he still hadn’t heard from the warranty rep and that if he didn’t hear from him in the next couple hours it would be Monday before he gets back to me. Monday came and went and I never heard from Paul, so I had to call him again on Tues. afternoon. Again, he told me he hadn’t heard from the warranty rep, but that he would call him and get back to me. Again, he did not call back. When I didn’t hear from Paul on Tues., 8/27, I went to another local Trek dealer and told them my story. The service manager told me that if I brought the bike and the original receipt to him, he would file a warranty claim for me (even though I didn’t buy the bike from them). I walked into the Omaha Trek Store on Wed., 8/28 and asked Paul if he’d heard from the warranty rep. He hesitated and told me he had not, but would call him again right then. Told him not to bother and I wanted my bike back. I delivered my bike with the receipt to the other bike shop that same day. To my complete surprise, Paul from the Trek store called the very next day and said the warranty rep agreed to replace my rim. Told him I’d think about it and get back to him. Why did it take nearly two weeks to get to that point? HORRIBLE SERVICE! My advice; if you want to buy a Trek bike in Omaha, NE, you should buy it from the Bike Rack!! Within a few days of dropping it off at the Bike Rack, Trek honored the warranty and the Bike Rack had me back on the trails. THANKS DYLAN!

First, itd be nice if 1 of the xx employees could say hi or a least acknowledge me in the 20 minutes I was there. I recall why I stopped going to local bike shops and buying online. Decided to stop by Trek of Omaha to get my son a bike as I wanted to make sure we get the right bike for him. Talk about apathetic bike snobs. I wont say all of them as a few were working with customers, but the ones that were not...absolutely worthless. I had to track one of these lazy bums to get a quick question answered. A "hi" or "be with you soon" would of been nice. I had to initiate the "hello" to the guy hiding behind a computer, I get a very quick quite "hi" back, not even looking at me. Guess it takes a lot out of a mid 20 something man working at a bike shop to greet me. Bringing in my kid didnt make me cool I guess, nor did the prospect of only spending $350 on a KIDs bike make it worth it for them. Guess its too much of a bore for them. Ill continue to feed my high end bike gear purchases online and now, unfortunately have to do the same for both my kids. What a wasted future opportunity. Three LBS down, a couple more to give them a chance. Im not holding my breathe.

I went in for a simple task: I wanted to replace the front brake on an old bike with something a bit more modern, maybe with an improvement in braking force. My usual bike shops know me, my bike, and - most important - they are professional. Its evident that they want to get me in, out, and back on my bike with a minimum of hassle. For this, I am grateful, and I gladly reward them with my business and my recommendation to all of my cyclist friends. Not so at this Trek Bicycle Store. Ill be candid. The service was atrocious and disrespectful. The guys at the maintenance desk joked around for a while, and then decided theyd like to help me. While trying to find a suitable replacement brake, the employees kept distracting each other, seemingly forgetting that I was there. Instead of talking to me, they kept chatting to each other. One employee kept whining to the one who was helping me to help him instead. They kept on joking around with each other, taking around 25 minutes to order the brake, as I stood there waiting. I cancelled the order. Apparently they just didnt need my patronage. Fine by me - Ill take my money elsewhere.

For my two cents on the subject; I have been to one of the other LARGER bicycle shops in West Omaha and found that there is absolutely no comparison between the two shops. The employees in the Trek store on 72nd street were very friendly, very knowledgeable and very, very helpful. I stopped in two days in a row and was assisted by three different employees. The wait time was almost nil. They identified the issue I was having, fixed it, recommended a seat that works well on my bike and presented me with excellent customer service. I also noted that pricing on the bicycles were quite competitive with other shops that I have been to. Because of the excellent customer service, the knowledge and the general feel of the place; you people have earned a repeat customer and a word of mouth to any others I can refer to you. Thanks for all your help and I appreciated the entire experience of your store. Keep up the good work.
