On June 4, 2016, my wife mailed a marriage license and birth certificate through the UPS store located on the Plaza in Kansas City so that a friend could take the marriage license and birth certificate to China. Although my wife wrote the correct address on the envelope, the UPS store entered the wrong address, causing the package to be initially lost, and then substantially delayed. As a result, I had to apply for a new marriage license and birth certificate to be sent directly to China at a substantial cost. I demand to be fully compensated for this error. After the package was sent, the UPS store said that we could track the package using USPS Priority Tracking. On Tuesday, June 7th, we were told that someone would call the USPS store concerning the package. Later that day, we were told that it would take 24 to 48 hours for the USPS store to respond. On Friday, June 10th, we were told that the package could not be tracked. Finally, after I went back to the store on June 16, I was told that the package may be lost. During each of these interactions, we were treated rudely, with a lack of basic respect and decency. Eventually, I learned that the UPS store simply entered the apartment number in the address incorrectly, causing the issue. The manager claimed that no one will care about my right as a customer. He also claimed that “you can go any organization to complain and no one will care about this”. This really give me an impression that he is above LAW and White House.

The first time I went to this location a younger gentleman helped me and was very polite and most accommodating. That was not the case this evening. I went in there simply to print about ten different things. I usually go to Fedex, but was informed that UPS actually has lower printing prices, and they do- except when the money hungry owner is there. After printing my files, the owner told me my total was over $30. The cost should have been under ten dollars. Very surprised, I asked how did it come to that? He told me that there was an additional charge of $2.50 for every file he opened, plus the price of the print. He said he couldnt just stand behind the computer helping me and wasting his time, so he had to compensate somehow. Yes he did have to stand behind the counter, but I actually was the one doing the work because he didnt know what he was doing. Really, I had to walk him through the process. When I told him I wasnt going to pay that, he took off 35% which still ran my total close to fifteen more than it should have been. I told him he could keep the prints because I wasnt going to pay for his "labor" charge and thats when he got really angry and refused to let me leave without paying. Absolute worst customer service ever.

This UPS store is amazing. They went above and beyond to assist me. Recent I overnighted a package from Northern Virginia on a Saturday to a location in Kansas City for guaranteed delivery on Monday. Upon realizing i had inadvertently forgotten a document to include, i contacted this store to see if they could assist. Eric, the owner, went out of his way to help. Since i am in Northern Virginia and the package had to arrive today with the file included, he accepted the file electronically, printed and packaged it, and even found a local messenger on his own to ensure delivery by the same business day. He paid the messenger himself and then billed me so that i only had to be concerned with a single bill. The amount he charged me for his services was minuscule ($10) considering the jam i was in. Absolute amazing service. You cannot ask for better understanding, willingness, or ultimate services provided. The owner saved me! Go see Eric, the owner of this UPS Store. He will take care of you!

DO NOT GO HERE.I would give this place no stars if possible. I usually go to the Brookside location where Im greeted with a friendly hello and smile and the people are happy to help you. On June 24, I was near the Plaza so I stopped at this UPS location. I walk in; a man is talking to two other men. I later found out that he is the owner/manager whose name is Eric. He kept talking for a LONG time and they all totally ignored me as if I wasnt there. I was shocked at this rudeness. Even if they thought I was going to seal the package myself, they still should have said "Hello" and asked whether I needed help, but I was treated like I was invisible.I left with my package and drove to the Brookside location where I was treated very kindly. NEVER GOING BACK. The first thing those people need to do is to at least acknowledge the customer when they walk in and to ask whether they need help.

Utilized pack and ship at this location to ship an electric guitar. Was charged $70+ for the shipping alone plus packing and materials fees that were greater than $30. Out of curiosity, when the package arrived I used the UPS time and cost calculator on the UPS website to determine the shipping cost. Based on size and weight this should have only been about $58. I also received a previously used box which was inappropriately large, didnt have the prior recipients information removed from it, and was stuffed with 20 gallons of packing peanuts. I knew it would be costly ship in this manner but I definitely feel a little swindled given that I was overcharged for shipping and definitely feel overcharged for an oversized, previously used box. I will not be using UPS pack and ship in the future.

Dear Owner - UPS Store 4249 - Brookside + Plaza location(s), I just wanted to offer a bit of feedback about my experience during a visit I made to your Plaza store today. Audrey. It was refreshing to find a person who was so . . .what can I say. ..professional. She knew the products/services and all - that your store offers - however she was tuned in to the bigger picture as well. The bigger picture being an overall understanding of the business world - on a more granular level - your franchise and how you make money. I was really impressed with her knowledge of what your individual store values and her knowledge of what her customers look for in a vendor relationship.

If I could give the owner of the UPS store (Plaza location) less than 1 star to review my experience with him, I gladly would. I would rate his customer service skills to be substantially less than 0. I recently paid a visit to the UPS store purely on a fact finding mission to research shipping options for my small business. I experienced the owner to be nothing short of rude, dismissive in answering the shipping questions I was asking, shockingly unhelpful and clearly only interested in milking as much out of his customers for his "services" as possible. What a jerk! I would highly advise all to avoid and seek other alternatives.

Opted for USPS media mail since their UPS mail is almost 2x the cost (with insurance) Guy just wrapped my book with UPS store plastic and when it arrived at the destination the package is badly damaged (stupid idea of using plastic bags for usps media mail) Asked the guy what can they do about it and told me that since I used USPS media mail theres no insurance and guarantee for the shipment. If I have known that theyll provide this kind of service I could have package it myself and go to the brookside post office. My last visit to this store, its convenient for me since I work nearby but their services are pricey.
