I chose to buy from the Touring Cyclist because they are an authorized Kestrel dealer (warrently authorized) and my interest was in a Kestrel Talon 105, I had no prior relationship with the store nor had I read any reviews. I couldnt be more impressed with the shop. Don handled my sale and cut me a great deal on my bike which wasnt sold to me in saleman fashion, we looked over what I wanted (and my size, being 66) and made sure the Talon fit my needs, he threw in shoes and pedals, all at a flat price and saved me around 200.00 if I would have bought it all seperately. After making an initial 500 down payment, they ordered my bike and allowed me to make bi-weekly payments to pay it off over the course of 2 months - layaway so to speak, and at no additional charges. Standard package, they gave me 3 years no questions asked tune ups and labor, which they have already tuned me up after my first 150 miles and again after a vicious blowout, and again today after I snapped my chain on HogHollow. Their lead mechanic is a great guy and knows his stuff, I feel confident on the road with his work. Overall I would recommend this shop, they know customer service and are serious about what they do. Great shop, great people.

Completely dissatisfied with their customer service. I called to verify my bike was ready to be picked up from being serviced and the guy had to put me on hold twice before confirming. When I asked to verify that everything was paid in full since I was having a friend pick up the bike he said that he would have to talk to the service department and call me back because he had customers in the store. Insulted, as I was also a paying customer, I hung up. I was at work and could not argue with him any longer. A minute later another guy called to confirm that the balance was paid in full and that I could pick up my bike. This guy was very friendly as I am sure he knew how I was just treated. I asked for the name of the person I was speaking to before and he responded, "the owner." Needless to say, I will not return to the Touring Cyclist and have since recommended several people to go elsewhere for any bicycle needs. I work in customer service and understand the importance of keeping and maintaining happy customers. I have heard from numerous people since that this is typical at this store (and the owner).

I used The Touring Cyclist to rent bikes and have shuttle service for my husband and his friends to do the Katy Bike Trail. I could not have planned this trip (being far from MO and knowing nothing about KBT) without the help of Susan. She is incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, efficient and super friendly. Throughout the planning, I had tons of logistics questions and many changes/additions. She always responded promptly and courteously. Most important, due to my date mixup, the Touring Cyclist team had to go above and beyond to save the day and get my guys on the road with no notice. I would highly recommend them for bike rentals. They really came through for me.

I had a very good experience with Sean (mechanic). I bought a Weyless XP (Santa Cruz Heckler clone) used on Craigslist and needed a tune up and some shifter/pedal upgrades, etc. Sean was very knowledgeable and eager to help me with all of my questions and requests. The bike is dialed in perfectly and was completed quickly and affordably. I see some of the other reviews on here, but dont let it deter you. Go see Sean directly - fair prices and doesnt give you the snobby attitude a lot of the LBSs give you. Very satisfied customer.

I have never really purchased a "real bike" before and have been unhappy with my current bike. I walked in and after talking with the owner about what I wanted and my price range, he had 3 bikes in mind for me (as Im ridiculously tall). He found a perfect bike for my needs that fit me and I was very satisfied with the service, attention and even his willingness to work with me on the pricing. Super excited about my new bike!! Thanks!!

Used to ride bikes a lot as a kid, decided to get back into it with my step dads abused mountain bike. Sean was super nice, answered all my questions, helped me get the bike how I needed it. With all of the repairs, tune ups and accessories, my full rework was only $150. I just took the bike on a quick 20 mile city ride. Beautiful condition.

Went in to buy a dry chain lube----Staff member said they dont carry any and recommended a wet lube. I asked politely about using that product on the Katy Trail (which is very dusty). He made a face, turned his back on me, walked away, and then ignored me. I f you like rude, arrogant jerks who dont care if you live or die, shop here.

I have used the touring cyclist for several small items over the last couple years. Being a penny pinching novice I can imagine that my requests can seem menial and petty at times. With that said, I have not had any issues. From price shopping lower end road bikes to having any a new tube put on, I have not had a bad a experience.

Went in for some saddles, pedals, tires, and shoes. Only customer in the store sales person wouldnt answer my questions or give me time of day. After askingbthe same questions 6 times and barely getting acknowledge we walked out spent our money elsewhere, where our questions where answered and we were acknowledged.

Bought four bikes so far from theses guys. Have meet the father and son son that own the place. Starting going there when they were on west Florissant. Followed them over to BRIDGETON they still service my bikes and I plan to buy mountain bikes from them.

Great staff, was willing to change my tire on the fly. They have earned a loyal lifelong customer. Looking forward to getting a tuneup for summer!
